Lovely owner. Beautiful location. Everything needed to enjoy a stay. Susan from Derbyshire (11 April 2017)
We had a lovely time at the barn. Very cosy and comfortable with lots of space. The location is so peaceful. Julie from Droitwich Worcestershire (17 February 2017)
The barn is a beautiful house set in a stunning, private woodland location within walking distance of witley court. The photos on this website do not do justice to what is a spotlessly clean, fully equipped and extremely comfortable home. The absolute highlight of our stay at the barn was meeting the charming host, john, and his gorgeous dog max!! my friend and I could not have hoped for a better experience and our only regret is that we wish we had booked the place for longer because we did not want to leave! I cannot wait to find an excuse to return. Highly recommended. Thanks again john. Please give max a cuddle from me :) Monique from Kidderminster (04 January 2017)
A lovely week's base for exploring the area. Set in beautiful woodland and truly in the middle of nowhere, but divine! john was very helpful and a great host. This is doggy heaven, says teddy! if you want peace and quiet, with just the sound of birds and sight of squirrels and even a fox, this is the place. We will definitely be back! thank you. Sara from Wisbech (28 October 2016)
Really beautiful location, quiet and peaceful. lovely cottage that has everything you need. excellent place to stay for both humans and their canine companions. Jackie from Mawsley (09 September 2016)
The barn is spacious for a 2-bed cottage. The kitchen was fairly well equipped, although a dishwasher is always nice when you're on holiday. We were warmly welcomed and shown round the property by the owner. All the essential areas (kitchen, bathroom, bedding, towels) were clean but the windows were a little dirty & there were quite a few moths/spiders/cobwebs in the property. . the location is good, 0.7mile down country lanes to tea rooms, witley church and witley court. There is also direct access from the doorstep to 'off lead' walks for dogs. We didn't actually bring our dog because we wanted to be able to do full days out with the kids but i'm sure she would have liked it! . access to the property is down untarmaced narrow lanes. We had no problems with this but arriving after dark might have been tricky. . the only other issue we had was that the cottage is very squeaky - the doors, stairs and walking around upstairs were all very noisy when our little ones were asleep in the evenings. We would consider staying at the property if we were looking for a dog-friendly cottage in this area again. Confirmed Guest from Access To The Property Is Down Untarmaced Narrow L (02 September 2016)
We really enjoyed our week in the barn. The cottage provides pretty much anything you'd need and is a great home from home. The cottage itself is in a very quiet secluded location, so great if you want to cut yourself off for a few days. A few other reviewers have commented on the rough track leading up to the property - it is a little bumpy but unless your car is super low you won't have any problems with it. The owner lives nearby along with his dog and both are very friendly! the cottage is very dog friendly (doggy items and treats are a nice touch) although the garden area is not fully enclosed so possibly not suitable for every dog but ok for most I am sure - we had no issues with ours and there is plenty of space to run and roam. The cottage is within walking distance of witley court which is worth a visit too. The local area is typical village so expect a 15min drive to stourport for the nearest supermarket etc. Overall we we very happy - we would recommend this property and would consider visiting again. Chris from Bourne, Lincs (19 August 2016)
A rural retreat, which enabled me and my 2 dogs to get away from it all and relax. Comfortable accommodation and lovely environment for the dogs. Friendly owner and friendly owner's dog. Loved it Margaret from Bude, Cornwall (03 June 2016)
We really enjoyed our stay in the cottage. It was very well equipped and peaceful in a rural setting. the track leading to the cottage could do with some upgrading/grading. Only one toilet, upstairs, was as slight disadvantage, as were the skweaking floors. W.J. from Aerdenhout Nl (20 May 2016)
One of the most relaxing places ever and great for re-charging the batteries. Very dog friendly, our labrador loved it. Comfortable and well equipped. Claire from Martley (04 March 2016)
We had a an enjoyable stay at the barn despite the weather being appalling . it suited us very well with excellent provision for our dogs and a terrific area for exercising them. We would be very happy to stay again and look around in more detail. Nic from Trunch Norfolk (30 November 2015)
You should make customers aware of the very rough track which is the only way to access the barn. Cleanliness was an issue for us. The bathroom was particularly in need of cleaning which we had to do ourselves. David from Stratford On Avon (27 November 2015)
Had the most amazing holiday. John the owner was fantastic and really knowledgeable about the area. The location is fantastic with walks straight from the door. Perfect location for a holiday with your four legged friend or children very safe. Lynn from Northampton (16 October 2015)
Went in october would be very good in summer really tucked away. Drive down to barn a little rough and long. . a good place to stay would have liked longer Carol from Rickmansworth (05 October 2015)
It is one of the best cottages we have ever stayed at, other than a slightly rough road to gain entrance to the property, it is brilliant. . there are big fields to let your dog use up its energy, great walks around and not far from places to visit. . the cottages was nicely furnished, and all of the things that you would want out of a cottage. Craig from Formby (25 September 2015)
We had a fantastic stay at the barn, the owner is extremely welcoming. The cottage is well equipped, comfortable and in an amazing location. Beautiful walks right on the doorstep, we will definitely be staying here again. Andrew from Reading (31 August 2015)
Lovely rural retreat.perfect for relaxing break. Kevin from Portsmouth (21 August 2015)
This is a nice cottage in a lovely area. However, in your brochure description is no mention of the fact that access to it is down off road tracks. These are very stony and bumpy with many holes and dips. Also steep slopeswhich are also badly surfaced and twisty bends. There is no real markers to show which track to take and the name on the property is the hunting lodge and not the barn. Quite honestly only people with 4 x 4 vehicles would be fully comfortable here. The owner is very friendly and helpful and apart from the accessproblem the holiday was delightful. Ken from Bury St Edmunds (26 June 2015)
Our stay, for a nearby family event, was thoroughly enjoyable. The flower meadow, fields, woodlands and walks that surround the barn are idyllic. The cottage is comfortable, very clean and perfect for a peaceful "get away from it all" break. We took our teenage daughter and our deerhound; both of them, and us, had a great time. We recommend it highly, especially if you have energetic kids and dogs who love the countryside. Peter from Shrewsbury (29 May 2015)
Very quiet and peaceful location. Track/ road to the barn is bumpy and care is required. The barn is very bright and airy and has all the equipment required. Tony from Stockton On Tees (15 May 2015)
The property is showing its age. Some things you would expect in a 4 star place were missing - heating in the kitchen and bathroom, a towel rail, a clean cooker, better towels and tea towels, a cleaner cooker, casserole dishes. However it was spacious and comfortable, and the setting was great. Ken from Woodbridge (20 March 2015)
