We had a fantastic holiday at applehouse..it was just perfect for us! the location is amazing overlooking the salt marshes and sea. Just a stroll to the sea and a great base to explore the coast and broads. The pub down the road is friendly and serves good food and there's a shop and cafe and fish and chip van too! Julie from York (11 August 2017)
Where should I start . dog hairs everywhere also in our beds , that's a no no for me. . I don't sleep in my bed with dog hairs, sheets haven't been changed they had stains from the people that where there before us as they left on the same day that we got at the place . . we had to put our towel down to sit on settee . plate broken and glued together , coffee pot cracked so we had to go buy a coffee pot and we had to buy sheet / duvet covers as we could not sleep in the sheets . I will be sending a full report in a email . James from Grimsby (28 July 2017)
A very comfortable cottage located in a wonderful part of norfolk. tremendous scenery, a good pub and local shop on the doorstep. many places to visit within a short drive. Steven from Fleet (21 July 2017)
Beautiful views, clean and comfortable beds, shower needs mould removing, crockery needs replacing, blind in bedroom needs to be mended.overall a bit tired looking. Mrs L from Colchester (23 June 2017)
This was a last minute booking, but after reading the reviews and looking at what we wanted, this cottage ticked all of the boxes. the setting is tranquil, gets you close to nature, yet close enough to visit other busier areas as required. we have already discussed booking again later this year, to explore more of the surrounding area(s). Shaun from Huddersfield (02 June 2017)

Can't be beaten for location John (21 March 2017)
Serves purpose as base for my birding trips to norfolk as a single occupant. John from Rowley Regis (04 November 2016)
This was our second stay at applehouse and once again it met all our needs. The cosy dwelling is situated in a wonderful spot for walking, bird watching and site seeing. With the large front window over looking the marshes and sea we enjoyed many sessions of bird watching from the warmth of the sitting room. Confirmed Guest (14 October 2016)
A nice property and great location. We feel the property needs some tlc. Cooking facilities weren't great. No oven just a two bar electric cooker. Was a microwave but you can't cook everything in a microwave. Could do with a real good clean. Curtains were grubby as was the furniture. Windows need a good clean. Mirrors weren't clean. just needs a real good spring clean. Denise from Derby (30 September 2016)
The cottage was first class for the price, I read the comments in the visitors book some of which were somewhat critical I should say to them, come on you want champagne taste with lemonade pockets. Maueen from Willenhall West Midlands (16 September 2016)
The apple house is in a superb location and could be a delightful place to stay. the level of cleanliness throughout the cottage is very poor. Most things were sticky to touch especially around the kitchen area and the shower tray and door had mold and dirt. I certainly didn't expect to be cleaning these things as soon as I arrived on holiday!! Margaret from Nottinghamshire (26 August 2016)
If you like to be close to nature, you can't beat this house. Donna from Whaley Bridge (05 August 2016)
The apple house was cute and gorgeous and suited us perfectly for a quiet week away. We'll definitely think about staying again. The local pub is great and very friendly and we just loved the massive skies, the marshes and feeding time at the pond at the bottom of the drive. On the downside the house could have been cleaner and there's no wifi. The road is not that busy but cars drive very fast and there are a few corners that have no footpath so you need to keep your wits about you walking home in the dark. But we absolutely loved it! Caroline from London (20 May 2016)
The cottage was so nice to be in, however it was too near the road which was too fast for someone with a guidedog. Although on holiday it would be good to have internet. Annie from Beccles (08 April 2016)
Great location. the cottage had everything one could need. We would love to return at a different time of year. Ray from Cheadle Hulme. (25 March 2016)
Lovely cosy cottage in a perfect setting for walking and birdwatching. Joy from Peterborough (18 March 2016)
Wonderful location and views of saltmarshes!. warm and comfortable!. a lovely holiday cottage! Sue from Warm And Comfortable! (19 February 2016)
Very good base for my birding holiday. John from Rowley Regis (05 February 2016)
A lovely location and cosy cottage for a winter break. Hope to visit again one day Joy from Peterborough (20 November 2015)
Wanted a base for a week's birdwatching; cottage served its purpose. warm and comfortable. As a single occupant was able to spread out. John from Rowley Regis (13 November 2015)
Loved it, had a great time. Lisa from Rossendale (30 October 2015)
Nice location - quite warm and cosy - rather basic regarding comfort - could do with a. Good end of season cleaning and redecoration - no proper cooker, just a scruffy 2 ring. Electric contraption which we put out of the way for the week - fine view across. Marshland to the sea (after I cleaned the window) - would benefit by replacing all the. Old dark and depressing paintings with some a bit brighter. Michael from Nottingham (23 October 2015)
Fantastic, comfortable & cosy; lovely to feel we had it to ourselves. incredible peaceful location, right on the coast (& an excellent pub in the village!) Confirmed Guest from Lancaster (16 October 2015)
What a find. Wonderful view of village duck pond, marsh and beach. quiet location but with shops and excellent pub 5 minutes walk away. the cottage was very cosy and had everything we needed. hope to return there as it's perfectly located for exploring the north norfolk coast and would highly recommend the apple house. Susan from Maidstone (02 October 2015)
Wonderful little hideaway. Beautiful views over the marshes and very dog friendly. We met the owner who was very helpful and welcoming. . the only reason that I have scored 7 on comfort and equipment is that there is no actual oven/hob, so cooking anything complicated not viable. This is however unneccesary as there is a wonderful crab café and pub just down the road. Christina from Gloucester (25 September 2015)
Rather disappointing. This was mainly due to the invasion of small flying creatures in kitchen/lounge area. Ants are mentioned in information leaflets but it would of been helpful if fly killer was available or the problem dealt with by owners. They are well paid for a weeks stay... Ann from Durham (07 August 2015)
Lovely location cottage could do with a spring clean. Christopher from Sheffield (26 June 2015)
We very much enjoyed our stay here. We had rain on a few days but it didn't prevent us doing what we wanted to do which was to watch birds. The cottage is in the ideal spot to do this with great views of the marsh from the window. The cottage was clean, well equipped and comfortable and we look forward to another stay. Sandra from Port Talbot (27 March 2015)
This is a pretty, retro and well located small cottage. It has a wonderful view across the salt marshes to the beach. The local pub the dun cow does excellent food and is very welcoming. It is well equipped for a small cottage in line with its retro atmosphere. Suzie from London (04 January 2015)
Very good overall but, having hired this cottage several times, a frequent failing is the lack of sufficient "consumables" that would be expected in a week-long cottage hire of this price and kind, eg:. - washing up liquid (bottle almost empty). - kitchen rolls (none supplied). - toilet paper (only just barely enough! have had to buy our own in the past!). - liquid soap/handwash (bottle completely empty). - tea and coffee (very old and stale, had to buy new). . these items should be checked and restocked as necessary before each hire commences. Steve from Lancashire (05 December 2014)
We really enjoyed the location and the apple house was an ideal base for our stay. Also very good for our dog. Only drawback, which was quiet funny at the time, was no oven and we had bought some oven cook food - our fault as we didn't read the specification carefuuly enough. Chris from Leeds (28 November 2014)
Cottage and location great . so lucky with the lovely weather. Hope to go back again. Barbara from Wisbech (03 October 2014)
The apple house is set in a stunning location and is in a superb area for walking and bird/ wildlife watching. . . the property is very cosy and warm and the views were splendid, the parking was specious and adequate for one car. . the cooking facilities are quite basic but adequate for simple self catering. . thanks to the owners of the property who gave us permission for einstein our african grey parrot to accompany us on holiday in the apple house. Einstein also really enjoyed his stay and the views from the lounge window so we can recommend this property as very pet friendly! Deb from West Midlands (22 August 2014)
Had a great holiday in a perfect location. 5 minute walk from the sea, lovely pub down the road for dinner and only 5 minute drive from sheringham, excellent accommodation - a**** Daniella from Braintree, Essex (01 August 2014)
Overall, a very pleasant week`s stay no complaint`s at all. Thank you Confirmed Purchaser (11 July 2014)
Scenic location, overlooking marshes with coastal road at end of drive and coasthopper bus stop 1 minute away - regular services to locations east and west. Thoroughly enjoyable stay, al fresco breakfast in patio garden at rear, also bench at front provides splendid view of marshes, especially in early evening. Mary from London (27 June 2014)
The apple house was very cosy, had all the basic equipment needed and had an uninterrupted view across the salt marsh. It was well placed to visit many local attractions and only a 5 minute walk from the beach. . the only real downside was that the beach was all shingle. Ann from Northampton (25 April 2014)
Found the cottage was very comfortable and it was nice to look at the sea. only one complaint was that the shower could do with a non slip mat. Lynne from Kent (02 April 2014)
Warm, clean, incredible views, very close to beach and lovely walks!. characterful and cosy! Sue from Notts (21 February 2014)
Small but convenient and comfortable cottage in great location. David from Stockton-On-Tees (28 September 2013)
