Well positioned, basically well equipped cottage which met our requirements. John from Abingdon (30 September 2016)
Pam and chris could not have been more friendly, helpful and generous in making sure we got the best out of our stay, recommending places to visit and helping us plan our outings. We appreciated their offer to pick fresh raspberries from their garden for breakfast. South cottage was very comfortable and well maintained. surrounded by local countryside, I slept very well there, even enjoying the cocks crowing at dawn. We especially loved sitting in the light filled conservatory space surrounded by exotic hibiscus and bougainvillea blooms. a week wasn't long enough to do justice to all the places we wanted to visit and the walks to do--both locally and a little further away in the county. If like us, you enjoy visiting medieval churches, historic houses and wandering around their gardens and wider estates, then having blickling and felbrigg and mannington nearby makes for a perfect location. great places to eat nearby too! Dinah from Kendal (23 September 2016)
We loved the cottage and having the owners next door was a bonus for us, especially as they are so helpful and considerate. We especially loved the garden and the chickens. The property is well equipped and we ate 'at home' a lot of the time. There is garden furniture to sit outside and ample furniture inside for us (as 3 generations) to be in different rooms doing different activities at the same time. The sitting room furniture was not as comfortable as we have at home for chilling out in the evening, but this in no way detracted from our holiday. The cottage is situated in a very rural location, so we did need to drive every day, but it is well situated for norwich, the broads and the north norfolk coastline. we were very struck by the peace and tranquility when we arrived, although there are chickens (and they do crow in the mornings) and the red arrows flew over one morning, breaking the peace and possibly the sound barrier. Jacky from Nottingham (19 August 2016)
Delightful place to stay especially as chris and pam are so helpful. Not often that one finds such generous quantities of crockery, cutlery etc. It was a pity the weather didn't allow us to enjoy the garden more. Miriam from Aberystwyth (03 June 2016)
Pam and chris could not have been more welcoming. The cottage was clean and well equipped. A very lovely place to stay with easy access to the coast and the broads. Some excellent recommendations for places to eat. Maryann from Churchill (15 February 2016)
A wonderful property in a great location. We loved sitting in the sun room planning our days out. Chris and pam helped us to make the most of our time at south cottage - thank you so much for your kindness and great ideas! we regularly book cottages for our holidays, and this is one of the very best we have experienced. Matthew from Milton Keynes (11 September 2015)
This was our second visit to south cottage, and it was how we remembered it last time. Fantastic quiet location within easy reach of norfolks beaches. Owners always on hand and very welcoming. Great fun for kids feeding chickens and playing in the ample garden space Michael from Keighley (31 July 2015)
We love this cottage. it's in a very beautiful and peaceful area. this year was the second time we had been, and we have booked to go again next year. it feels like home from home. chris and pam, the owners, are a very lovely and helpful couple. nothing is too much trouble for them. our daughter had a great time feeding the chickens in their garden. Dawn from Luton (19 June 2015)
Lovely cottage. Superb location. Lyndon from Harpenden, Herts (29 May 2015)
This cottage was clean warm comfortable and very well equipped the owners though not at all obtrusive we're helpful in every way when needed the attractions of coast and broads were all very accessible and we had a great time the cottage is to be highly recommended in all aspects Sonia from Chatham (10 April 2015)
Clean and well equipped cottage in a quiet location. Our three year old grandson loved the gardens and the chickens . our eleven month old found the tlled floors rather hard when he tumbled over. It was a pity the tumble drier did not work.( they were awaiting a part all week)really essential when you are away with small children. Sue from Ryde (26 September 2014)
Lovely homely cottage and surroundings. We really enjoyed the chickens too, and would recommend to anyone Alec from Horsham (22 August 2014)
Lovely cottage very clean and modern David from Hinckley (01 August 2014)
Perfect holiday retreat, would'nt mind living there. Bernie (27 May 2014)
Really lovely cottage, in a beautiful location! the owners were extremely kind and our children loved to feed the chickens and collect the eggs. They also gave us lots of advise of places to visit in the wet weather, so extremely kind. The cottage was very comfortable and very well equiped. The stairs are very steep although we were warned by the owners before we arrived and the children managed very easily. There were four adults and two young children staying and there was plenty of room. We loved the sun room in the early evening with a g&t. Joanna from Hertfordshire (13 May 2014)
Lovely cottage and very friendly owners who let my children feed the chickens each morning. Just beware of the flagstone floors and toddlers! Kelly from Tonbridge (21 April 2014)
Perfect! peaceful, comfortable and well equipped cottage. In easy reach of lots of great places, but do spend time enjoying the cottage! the owners, who live next door, were very helpful. The fresh fruit and veg were delicious. We didn't want to leave! ok, so the cockerel crowed a bit early on a few mornings, but that is country living. Highly recommended. Patrick from High Wycombe (30 August 2013)
The location of south cottage was perfect for us, tucked away and quiet with only two houses nearby, but nice and close to alysham for shopping and steam trains (!), plus only a short drive from pubs, a national trust property and lots of lovely beaches. On top of the fact that the property was so tasteful and homely, with everything one could need, owners pam and chris could not have been more welcoming and helpful. We stayed at a four-bedroom cottage because my mother-in-law joined us, so we don't normally rent such a large property, but I would be tempted to return, even if there was just four of us! thoroughly recommended Lisa from Berkhamsted (02 August 2013)
Very friendly and help owners. Cottage well equipped. Close to national trust properties. Confirmed Purchaser from Lincoln (07 Jun 2013)
Very nice cottage operated by a very nice couple who made us feel very welcome. We would definitely return there. The location was excellent as it gave us the feeling that we were completely secluded from the outside world whereas we were only a short drive to the nearest town. Ash from London (01 April 2013)
