Having stayed on the complex several times previously in a different property we were surprised as to how much the overall complex seemed neglected. peregrine cottage was spacious however, only one comfortable chair, settees very tired, no support in cushions. The 5 ft bed!! it may have been, but only had an ancient collapsed 4'6" mattress on it!! still not fully recovered from back ache. On entering the cottage it seemed ok, but soon discovered that there were dog hairs every where even upstairs. It needs a thorough deep clean, refurbishing, more sound proofing and it would be absolutely lovely. Den from Norfolk (13 May 2017)
Great location ,fantastic spot for bird watching and dog walking. Good food at local pubs that you can take your dogs to. The cottage is very comfortable but did not score a 10 for the following reasons. Dish washer program does not work very well. There is no wi-fi. The sofas could do with replacing. I would probably not visit during the summer unless air conditioning was fitted as the aspect of the living room faces the south with large windows and there is very little ventilation , this could make the living room very hot . . we enjoyed our stay very much Anne from Norfolk (06 May 2017)
An ideal base for walking, especially along the local cliff tops and surrounding areas. lovely peaceful location, although there was some late night traffic from the local farm workers. every one I met were very friendly and if you own a dog, it is an ideal base to stay. the cottage itself was warm and roomy. Although the double bedroom was comfortable, the singles were a little small for an adult and the pillows hard. staying in the room above the living area, I could not retire to bed, until the rest of the family and decided to call it a day, as the sound of conversation and the television was very audible, probably due to no sound proofing. a small niggle for an adult, but for a young family, children may have a problem falling asleep. . . we were fortunate enough to be able to park at the entrance to the cottage, but there were only two spaces for the four lets in our area. again a small niggle. on the whole it was a relaxing week, good location for visiting surrounding areas for walks or trips in the car. lovely views, although it will be a shame when the surrounding areas are sold and built on. a nice bottle of wine waiting for you, along side coffee and teabags, for a welcome cuppa when you arrive. good directions to get there and a pleasant conversation with the owner when arranging the key collection. well worth looking at. Joyce from Kegworth, Derby (01 April 2017)
The barn itself was very spacious though it was really dusty with lots of cobwebs, we didn't use the henry vac because that was really dusty too! after we had done our initial shop and stocked the fridge, the power went off and was off all night so all the fridge items had to be thrown, we didn't know till morning that we had to reset the trip switch, the owner was contacted and made aware. The location was lovely, lots of nice relaxing walks and village facilities close, despite the weather it was a relaxing break. Melita from North Linclonshire (14 January 2017)
A lovely holiday in a lovely part of the country. the cottage was an excellent base for exploring the yorkshire coast. Kate from Stoke On Trent (29 October 2016)
We have recently returned from a fabulous week at peregrine. our 3 daughters under age 8 all had a great time. the added bonus of a stair gate which we believe is for dogs was a great addition stopping our 1year old climbing the stairs and the knowledge that dogs are not allowed upstairs was welcomed by a non dog family. . ####please ignore the very negative review which was recently posted. I was very worried after reading it however had nothing to worry about. The pillows and towels were fine as well as the crockery..plenty for a family of 5 and was absolutely roasting at night. I do agree that it does lack sound proofing however we have to remember it is a converted barn! cottage is in a great location-local pubs, 10 min walk were all great and friendly and lots of tourist attractions near by within driving distance for children. . overall, we had a great week and will definitely be back next year. Thank you for a lovely, relaxing october break. Lyndsey from Gourock (22 October 2016)
So much potential but falls so short. -uncomfortable beds. Duvets looked very old. Duvet used as mattress protector. -curtains were the wrong way round in the master bedroom. . -cornice not screwed down on top of wardrobe. . -fabric shower curtain! very unhygienic. . -i can accept cobwebs in the beams as they are hard to reach but above the shower and easy to reach places just shows a lack of interest from the owners. -mosaic tiles in the shower were orange with slime as they hadn't been cleaned. -towels and bedding dated and tiered. . -paint splashes on the wooden beams just shows a lack of care. -light fitting with a glass panel missing. -kitchen utensils grubby and far from well equipped. We made the decision on day 1 that we wouldn't cook there. Eating out every day therefore was costly, but we had some fantastic meal- seabirds, friendly forester, north star, busy bees and marton grange farm. -only 1 roasting tin, 4 dishes for 6 people. -could feel fat splashes on the cupboard doors next to the hob. -many pots taken from the cupboards had to be washed first as they were so dirty. - 3 chipped/cracked cups. -vaneer on coffee table was hanging off. -settee filthy. -needs soundproofing. Little boy could hear tv loudly when he went to bed. . -beams between bedrooms boxed in badly, light comes through from bedroom next door. . its such a shame as it could be fantastic. its in a great location and if the points above were adressed then we would stay again but unfortunately it did ruin my holiday. Alex from Rotherham (01 October 2016)
Cottage further from the beach than expected. quite basic equipment with little for children on wet days. Not really dog friendly as dogs not allowed upstairs. Not the place for arachnaphobics! Eileen from Nottingham (30 July 2016)
Great cottage lovely location peaceful and quiet would go again mattress only downfall not comfy Kim from Sheffield (28 May 2016)
Absolute fantastic property, great location for access to cliff top walks ect, all amenities were great, if I was to be picky the bare wooden floors upstairs were a little rough could have done with a few mats or carpets, Kevin from Leeds (21 May 2016)
Pleasantly surprised when we arrived. cottage was bright and spacious with everything we needed, the heating was super efficient and the bottle of wine supplied was also very welcome! negatives were; the ultra sensitive smoke alarm (went off when making toast or using the oven) and the lack of outside lighting, a torch was needed when walking outside at night. Val from Workington (14 March 2016)
Lovely cottage in an ideal spot Stella from Kendal (31 October 2015)
Nice location for getting away from it and dog walking. Cottage is ok but living on past glory, could be fantastic just needs re-vamping. Katie from Near Harrogate (05 September 2015)
Fantastic location great for children very safe David from Stevenage (29 August 2015)
The location was great for us and the dogs. the décor was ok - could do with updating as could cooking utensils. there was a charge for each dog but I was not sure how £40 was necessary. Helen (08 August 2015)
Lovely cottage, near to village and other places to visit. Had everything there for a good holiday Karen from Burnley (13 June 2015)
Although told dogs welcome, we had to pay an extra £25 per dog, which as we had 3 was £75 and when we arrived signs were displayed saying the dogs couldn't go on the furniture or upstairs. Everyone who loves dogs will be aware that some pets share their owners bedroom or even bed (ours sleeps on the bed, but I put a cover over the bedding which I had taken with me). the other 2 (my daughters dogs) sit on our laps on the furniture and were very upset when refused this privilege. We had to go out and buy all three a bed ! the cottage itself is nice and well equipped, but needs new shower heads in both the bathroom and the ensuite. The beds single were too short for my daughter and son in law. Lynda from Stourbridge (30 May 2015)
Generally a nice cottage but could do with some updating and more care taken to cleanliness. Having said that the owner was most helpful by allowing us to move from saturday to saturday to sunday to sunday. Pauline from Warwickshire (18 January 2015)
A lovely cottage in a beautiful location. A very comfortable cottage with good facilities. Flamborough is a pretty village with good food at the pub. The children and the dogs loved it. The only reason I haven't given it 10 is that the lighting with the saver bulbs is very poor and it would be useful to have larger mirrors in the bathrooms - so 9.9. Altogether an excellent new year break. Christine from Leeds (04 January 2015)
Lovely little village with a choice of pubs and a few shops for necessities. Handy for all closeby resorts to visit and great to be able to take the dogs. Just wish there was somewhere at the cottage to be able to let the dogs run free. Internet and phone signal would be great but lack of does mean you can get away from it all. Will definitely book again. Linda from Prestatyn (08 November 2014)
Lovely cottage - lovely area. We will be back. Elizabeth from Lincoln (01 November 2014)
Bed mattresses a bit hard but otherwise, a comfortable and well equipped cottage. Mike from Rotherham (20 September 2014)
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. Alison from Bradford (13 September 2014)
A lovely complex of cottages. Spacious and comfortable and very well equiped. A great location to explore the coast line and nearby towns of bridlington and scarborough. Julie from Ashbourne (02 August 2014)
Very relaxing holiday, the area is unspoiled, teems with wildlife and is located perfectly to suit our needs. I will be going again. Bill from Sheffield (31 May 2014)
Lovely house, well equipped, would stay again. Mel from Peterborough (26 April 2014)
A good location for travelling around. Good value for money accommodation only falling short on ideal cleanliness, possibly due to hard pressed owner with additional priorities of farmstead as well as holiday cottages. Martin from Billingham (10 March 2014)
Excellent location, but having stayed at 2 other cottages in the complex the cottage compaired to the others was rather tired the cleanliness was well below par. It may have been awarded a gold star in 2003 but in todays standards needs to be add reviewed. Anyone looking to stay here try the gullimot far superior accomadation Jane from Bradford (15 February 2014)
A lovely cosy barn conversion in a very peaceful setting. Within walking distance of village with a shop and 4 pubs to choose from. Lovely food served at the rose and crown. Had a wonderful time. Would stay again. Anita from Knaresborough (09 November 2013)
On arrival the tv didn't work. However the problem was fixed within an hour. the dishwasher caused the electricity to trip out. we were not able to use the dishwasher during the week we were there and no attempt was made to fix it. the paperwork relating to appliances included some for items which were no longer there or had been replaced. overall, the place was 'tired' and in need of some tlc to bring it up to standard. Linda from Skegness (21 September 2013)
Just a little disappointed with the amount of dog hair around, a rather grubby en-suite sink and a dishwasher that didn't work. But everything else was great Anne from Lichfield (31 August 2013)
The cottage was clean, well equipped, decent value for money in a good location. Everything worked, only the tv was the let down. We couldn't find the remote to the dvd player. The cottage was nice and quite, the peace was wonderful. David from Mansfield (24 August 2013)
Very nice cottage.washing machinr but no dryer? otherwise well equiped John from Liversedge (03 August 2013)
Very comfortable and relaxing place to stay. Kathleen from Cramlington (13 April 2013)
Very nice cottage with a bright and pleasant feel to the place.we enjoyed our stay very much and the area around was beautiful. John from London (01 September 2012)
Takes dogs. Spacious. Emma from Huddersfield (11 August 2012)
Warm welcome and bungalow well equipped. Try to walk up Robinswood Hill the views are fantastic but you need a clear day. Enjoyed Gloucester historic docks and the Cotswolds. Well worth trying to see the Severn Bore, we picked a good evening and saw it from Minsterworth. Customer 37 (June 2012)
Had a fantastic holiday at peregrine cottage. The cottage is spotlessly clean with every attention to detail. The surrounding area is beautiful great beaches and lots to do. Would love to return soon. Customer 38 (June 2012)
great place and good location. short distance to cliffs then approx 10 mile round walk to bempton. short walk to sewerby and hall in other direction. Customer 39 (March 2011)

Lovely location within easy walking distance of cliff tops and the local village. Customer 42 (June 2010)
Great location, lots of lovely walks. Customer 43 (April 2009)
Within easy reach of many lovely walks and numerous unspoilt beaches. Customer 44 (February 2009)
The cottage was superbly warm and very cosy due to the excellent under floor heating system - good to know if going in the winter months which we were. Customer 45 (October 2008)
Excellent situation for walks. Dog-friendly. good parking. access to beach. Customer 46 (September 2008)
Superb converted barn/cottage with excellent walks on the door step. Good pubs and food less than 5 minutes walk away. Will definitely go back as the area close to cottage is very unspoilt. Customer 47 (May 2008)
This was a good base for touring the area with a number of good activites within easy reach. Customer 48 (July 2007)
