This cottage was excellent could not fault it one bit.the cream tea was a brilliant welcome the cottage was excellent every thing you needed was in it .the parking permit was ideal .the location stunning what a view to wake up to .to sum up in one word perfect.
Colin from Essex (17 June 2017)

A very pleasant very well equipped cottage with marvellous views over newlyn harbour. . a really good base to visit other places (walking into penzance or mousehole or driving to beaches). . highly recommended.
John from Cardiff (27 May 2017)

We stayed here for the second week in may and absolutely loved it. spotlessly clean, lovely quaint and cosy and the garden was fabulous. it was like stepping back in time but in a good way. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with mobility issues as the wooden staircase is very steep and curved and it is very close to the road but didn't cause us too much of a problem. the parking permit was an added bonus and the nearby fishermans arms very friendly. I would stay here again if down that area of cornwall.
Karen from Sheffieold (13 May 2017)

Very good views of harbour.
George from Horsham (18 March 2017)

The cottage is very well equipped, even down to a sewing kit. it is beautifully furnished and presented and very cosy and homely. there are views over the harbour from the sitting room and bed room. I could have watched the boats coming and going all day. there are two nice pubs within yards and newlyn village is within easy walking distance. great fish and chip shop there. also bought fresh fish, which was delicious when cooked in the aga. had a great time, but it was too short! I would point out that the stairs are rather tricky to negotiate, a point to consider if guests have mobility difficulties.
Louise from Plymouth (10 March 2017)

The perfect place for a relaxing stay..more than big enough for 2 adults and dog (who loved lying by the rayburn!) well equipped cottage lovely inside and out...really considerate and helpful owner gill. Beautiful views across newlyn harbour towards st michael`s mount, always something happening ...really fascinating ..sitting in the window seats in the lounge and bedroom was a favourite. Watching the weather change over the bay was phenomenal...we returned home thoroughly refreshed !! thankyou for a lovely week ...recommended in and out of season.
John from Stafford (04 March 2017)

Lovely, clean and relaxing place to stay. Warm cosy sitting room. Kitchen well stocked and decent size for a small place. Aga cooker a challenge, but has character and does the job. Courtyard surprisingly warm even in winter. Quirky staircase that looks like a cupboard. Wonderful bedroom with splendid bed and good ventilation that catches the best light and air to be had anywhere in this country or even this world. No wonder the area attracts painters. Large bathroom with great bath. A private parking space 50 yards up the road. And all decorated for christmas by the kindness of the owners. Oh and "hi" to the very buff young chap staying next door, who locked himself out when sleepwalking in the nuddy, who made our stay even more memorable. Bless you all.
Keith from Norwich (28 December 2016)

Loved this cosy cottage & the view from the front windows. great location for the local amenities. having an allocated parking space just down the road was a bonus. we had never used a range style oven / cooker before but it was actually easier than expected & everything we cooked turned out well. would like to return in warmer weather & make more use of the great outdoor area at the back of the property.
Jo from Newcastle Under Lyme (03 December 2016)

Another wonderful break at pen camneves. cottage as always very comfortable - during this break the weather was not too good so really appreciated how warm and comfortable the cottage was on our return from long walks. thank you for the scones and cream. big bonus of this cottage are the wonderful views over newlyn harbour.
Penny from Bath (24 November 2016)

Stunning views! beautiful quirky cottage! wonderful surroundings!
Michael from Radstock (11 November 2016)

We both loved this adorable cottage and its location. it was so cozy and lovely to return to after a day exploring. there is loads in newlyn that we didnt get chance to see and penzance was a real treat too and easy walking distance. some stunning scenery nearby and we miss watching the boats and the working harbour. I would highly recommend this cottage.
Jane from Leicester (29 October 2016)

Great well equipped cottage in a great location in a very friendly village. Perfect for a relaxing holiday
David from Plymouth (15 October 2016)

Such a wonderful find,so quirky. Everything thought about for you loved the rayburn, the bath, views from the bedrooms. Cream tea on arrival was delicious, cant think of one negative thing
Teresa from Bournemouth (24 September 2016)

We did not spend much time in the cottage, other than to sleep. Entrance area to the door of the cottage smelt of urine or other offensive smelling odour!. my wife referred the downstairs living room area as the dungeon. It had a musty smell. Agar cooker (only used once) to cook sausages took nearly 2 hours!. hot water tap and toilet seat in the bathroom loose. Odd drinking glasses looked like they were from a charity shop - no tumblers and the smallest wine glasses I have ever seen in a holiday let! . the best bits were the view of the harbour from the bedroom window and good location to explore the area.
Michael from Stafford (10 September 2016)

We enjoyed being in the cottage, proximity of road did not cause us any problem.
Doreen from Surrey (13 August 2016)

A fantastic cottage. On the harbour front with views out to st. Michaels mount and within easy distance of good facilities. Newlyn actually had much more than we knew, including a cinema, and is worth a little wander. The cottage had all the rustic charm we were looking for, though maybe the rayburn was a step too far, as cooking on it was definitely not my preference..it was in keeping with the look and feel of the cottage though. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and especially sitting in the window seat staring out over the bay. . points to note I suppose are that it is a working harbour, so there is a bit of noise at all hours, and you are on the road front, though this only really got busy during the day, when we were mostly out and about, as it's one of the main feeds down to mousehole (which is only a mile away, so a nice seafront walk).
Chris from Welton, East Yorkshire (06 August 2016)

Lovely quirky cottage with all we needed. patience is needed with the aga.
Ann from Northamptonshire (02 July 2016)

Everything one could ask for!
Adrian from Durham (28 May 2016)

Wow! everything about this place was magical. Just take care on the stairs after a few pints of rattlers with the locals! haha
Leanne from Stockport (07 May 2016)

Excellent place to stay. Would certainly go there again.
Jill from Banbury (16 April 2016)

A very well equipped cottage in a good and interesting location.
Tricia from Street (18 March 2016)

Stunning views from the cottage, excellent location, local amenities and delicious freshly caught fish available, all within easy walking distance. The cottage was extremely well equipped and we had a wonderful winter break.
Jonathan from Norwich (30 January 2016)

Our second visit and not disappointed. wonderful comfortable cottage - owner goes out of her way to make you welcome and comfortable. we will be returning.
Penny from Bath (04 December 2015)

Very nice with a beautiful view
Ian from Margate (17 October 2015)

Lovely comfortable cottage. Enjoyed watching all the comings and goings in the harbour. Cream tea was a nice surprise on arrival.
Alyson from Rothwell, Northants (03 October 2015)

Such a wonderful old cottage in which to stay. We were able to research the history of the area and the role our cottage played in that. Thank you.
Janet from Bicester (22 August 2015)

Had a lovely weeks stay in this quaint cottage. The steep stairs and uneven floors took a while to get used to, but its what to expect in a really old property. The cottage is just the right distance to walk from the local bars and resturants, and still be in a quiet location. I would definitely recommend it.
Shirley-Ann from Aberdeenshire (08 August 2015)

Pen camneves cottage was lovely, clean comfortable bed and all the equipment you need for a self catering holiday. But the location itself was not for us.
Janet from Hartlepool (01 August 2015)

This is an excellent cottage with lots of charm. It's very old with window seats in the thick stone walls and the stairs look original but that just adds to the novelty. The aga did not cause any problems although i'd never used one before. The cuttage's location is ideal with fantastic views of the harbour and fresh fish and newlyn crab can be bought close by. Reserved parking is only two minutes along the road. We had lovely walks to mousehole and penzance and short drives to the minack theatre, sennen cove and st ives . lots of pubs in town and a variety of places to eat or get takeaways and the co-op is just a ten minute walk away. The tolcarne inn was superb. This is one of the best cottages we've ever stayed in.
Linda from Lincoln (27 June 2015)

A lovely quaint little cottage in an ideal location overlooking newlyn harbour. Although only a small village, newlyn has plenty of pubs and restaurants, and is also within easy walking distance along the coast to both penzance or mousehole. There is also a half hourly bus service between penzance and mousehole that stops at the door. Within easy reach of lands end and the lizard with lots of other local attractions using either car or bus. We thoroughly enjoyed our great week at pen camneves.
Bob from Worthing (06 June 2015)

Does exactly what it says on the tin.
Michael from Guildford (14 December 2014)

A lovely little cottage in an idyllic location. we found that both of the nearby pubs were friendly and welcoming
Peter from Exeter (14 November 2014)

A very comfortable cottage - ticked all the boxes. Cream tea on arrival greatly appreciated! cottage looks right over the harbour in the centre of newlyn. great fish shops close by and the tolcarn is a particularly good restaurant near by - be sure to book. we will certainly be returning.
Penny from Bath (08 November 2014)

Perfect location; views, walking and a cosy retreat.
Jane from Braunton (25 October 2014)

Pen camneves is a lovely cottage and such a relaxing place to stay. we hardly noticed the road nose and really loved the comings and goings of the harbour and the fishing community. the location is ideal and you can just step out the door and walk. the surrounding area is stunning and we found some real treasures. a really lovely cottage that was the icing on the cake of a fabulous holiday. thank you.
Julia from Derby (04 October 2014)

Ideal cottage for two fit people, good location overlooking the harbour. we felt it could have been a bit cleaner in parts of the kitchen (table needed wiping down as did some utensils). otherwise we had a wonderful time.
Gail from Tunbridge Wells (20 September 2014)

Quaint terraced cottage however shared access at front and part shared court yard at rear, stairs inside and low beams may challenge those 6ft+ and less able bodied, lovely view of newlyn harbour plus can see st. Michael's mount, mousehole is within walking distance, rayburn cosy however cooking-wise an experience, refuse and recycle area in shared access at front needs regular attention, by new owners admission work in progress, cream tea on arrival nice touch, overall enjoyable and would visit again, reasonable drive to hayle, lands end, porthcurno..recommend the minack theatre!
Kim from Borehamwood (06 September 2014)

Lovely cosy cottage in excellent location, ideal for a romantic getaway.
Claire (23 August 2014)

On entering this cottage we were delighted..loved the bedroom and bathroom and the views over the harbour beautiful. Great to have the window seats as you can sit and watch all the activity of the various boats, both fishing and pleasure. . enjoyed having the outside area as the weather was beautiful and this area a bonus to have morning coffe before exploring. . the cottage felt amazingly spacious for its size and is a perfect spot to explore. The red lion did good food and was friendly but the pub towards mousehole is the exact opposite, worth just going to attempt to get a smile or pleasant response from if you like a challenge. . all in all we loved it , the area and the local people .
Karen from Wetherby (02 August 2014)

Pen camneves is a lovely cosy, very well-equipped, cottage. the views are lovely across the bay and we enjoyed being so close to a working harbour in newlyn. the cottage is full of character, with lots of interesting features. we would definitely recommend this cottage.
Maisie from Birmingham (12 July 2014)

Very small and old cottage, lovely position very clean, starting to look a bit tired but had a good stay ,2 pubs less than 50 yards away both good food and drink
Dave from Melton Mowbray (28 June 2014)

The cottage was very comfortable and homely, very interesting property with its history, the area and people we found were friendly, it was a very good place for a base to go exploring the area. We live in the depths of the countryside, and the road noise we were warned about was never a problem with us as the cars have to drive slowly because of the narrow roads. The two local pubs were welcoming and served very good food. The beach at longrock allows dogs on it all day.
Angela from Calne (07 June 2014)

Delightful cottage with stunning views. We have stayed there twice and will probably book again for next year.if you want a peaceful holiday then this is the place to be.
Steve from Ravenshead (10 May 2014)

Pen camneves is fabulous but won't suit everyone. I loved looking out over the harbour and seeing the working boats and harbour activities. However the rayburn will be a big problem in hot weather as it does generate a lot of heat. I loved cooking with the rayburn but it would be a challenge to the microwave generation.the cottage is a very good base for touring.the visitor's book sums it up ---someone has been there for half a dozen or so christmases.
Elizabeth from London (03 May 2014)

A charming cottage set on an incredibly busy road with little in the way of pavements. Although a good location for touring, the village itself hasn't got a lot to offer other than the harbour so not the place to stay if you are hoping to spend an evening locally.
Helen from Bristol (05 April 2014)

Beautiful location , beautiful cottage , fantastic rayburn, cosy and lovely but needs a good basic clean please.
Kathy from Lowe (15 February 2014)

Great fun
Steve from Bude (01 February 2014)

The cottage is comfortable and well placed to explore south west cornwall. Newlyn is only a 20 min walk from penzance and its' shops, and both have a decent choice of pubs and small restaurants. The cottage is feeling a little tired now (4th visit) in terms of equipment and furnishings but is good value nonetheless.
David from London (25 January 2014)

Absolutely fantastic cottage, wonderful location for a romantic holiday
Sue from Bristol (28 December 2013)

The cottage overlooked the harbour, and we loved the outdoor space at the back, with the lean - to, where we spent wet evenings sipping good wine, and relaxing. We found the raeburn interesting, and managed to cook a few good meals. Eating out was limited. Most of the pubs serve the local community and are very lively. We found the tolcarne very friendly with excellent food and service. The fishermans pub on the hill - unwelcoming, they don't like tourists. . best way to get to st ives is by bus - you can buy a weekly pass, three day pass or one day pass for unlimited travel in cornwall from the driver. The stop is a couple of steps away. Mousehole is nearby in the opposite direction, and the bus goes there too. One pub, and one restaurant open in the evening. Lots of little cafe's in the day. And art galleries, of which there are two in newlyn.
Christine from Hampton (10 August 2013)

Location and views
Sue from Worksop (13 Jul 2013)

Good location, ideal for two people although stairs were very steep.nice pub with good food very close by.lovely views and always something going on in the harbour.
Anthony from Cleobury Mortimer (22 Jun 2013)

View I think we paid for that.
Heather from Lincolnshire (15 Jun 2013)

Range cooker, bathroom and shower, comfortable bed, easy access to the bus, fantastic view of the harbour and the bay, car parking ticket (very important) and easy walking distance to the shops and gallery.
David from Nether Heage Belper Derdys (30 March 2013)

Lovely warm cottage because of the raeburn stove. It was a lovely unspoilt historic cottage
Katharine from Village (23 March 2013)

Very well located, very friendly fishing port, cottage is full of character
Donna from Paignton (16 March 2013)

Fab location. Lovely friendly locals & dog friendly pubs. Great fish & chip shop & indian take away. Lovely beach walk.
Lindsay from Bristol (29 December 2012)

Very warm due to arga cooker - great views friendly pub near by fishermans arms takes dogs and serves good fish food
Denis from Baldock (24 November 2012)

Location was lovely and the cottage had a lot of character.
Kim from Godalming (15 September 2012)

Location, private parking space, comfortable and warm.
Sue from Bath (11 August 2012)

Enjoyable for walks etc.good base for penzance and the train.
Stephen from Gt. Harwood (28 July 2012)

Thoroughly enjoyed our break, but the only comment I would like to make is that we did not know there would be a parking permit for us to use in the car park around the corner, so when we arrived automatically got a weeks parking which cost us £25, and was not until we looked in the kitchen cupboard realised there was one.
Customer 62 (July 2012)

This cottage had a great deal of character. the location was very good facing newlyn harbour and two very good pubs nearby. the locals were very friendly and gave us good information on places to visit.
Elizabeth from Sidcup Kent (09 June 2012)

Great outlook and nice walk into town.
Alan from Hazlemere (14 April 2012)

Loved not having to use the car all week, we were able to walk everywhere or catch the bus nearly outside the property. Pub for food and drink nearby, shop and lovely views over the harbour.
Customer 65 (April 2012)

Second visit to this cottage which has a great location overlooking Newlyn Harbour. The cottage is very comfortable and traditional, but be prepared to master the quirks of cooking on a Rayburn (Aga).
Customer 66 (January 2012)

A lovely holiday our seond Christmas at the cottage a lovely time and greatly needed break (would have liked the christmas tree to be a little bit bigger).

Fantastic location, great views of the harbour, lovely fisherman’s cottage.
Customer 76 (November 2007)

The view from the cottage was wonderful, and was ideally situated for coastal walk to Mousehole and Penzance.
Customer 77 (July 2006)

Lovely cosy cottage, not far from the wonderful village of Mousehole, a must.
Customer 78 (July 2006)

This was a delightful, cosy & welcoming cottage in a fantastic position overlooking Newlyn harbour. The location was ideal with lots of paths & walks for us to go on which was particularly important because we had our big dog with us. We were impressed by the wealth of information about the local area & attractions that had been thoughtfully provided at the cottage.
