A super well fitted out cottage with amazing history. It is in an ideal location in an interesting small town. We enjoyed the walks, trying the local pubs and restaurants and having a break from driving by using the good bus service. . the cottage was very clean and well maintained and equipped with everything we needed. . we were helped and made to feel very welcome by the owners. Thank you! Richard from Wiltshire (28 July 2017)
We had a very enjoyable week in this clean, well-equipped charming cottage. It felt like a home from home and was in a very convenient location. We were given a warm welcome by the owners and we would not hesitate to stay here again if we were in the area again. Astrid from Twickenham (11 June 2017)
A converted bakery dating back to the 16th century complete with sloping floors and stairs that will ensure that you remember to bring down anything you will be needing during the day first time!! lovely, clean, comfortable accommodation. very well located close to the town where the buses can take you to most of the visitor attractions in the area. the owners, chris and sue are extremely warm, friendly, accommodating and generous. it was like holidaying with your favourite aunt and uncle. we would definitely love to make a return trip and highly recommend it to anybody considering a holiday in the area. Marianne (14 April 2017)
Had a lovely few days in cottage. very comfy and everything we needed for our restful holiday. cottage was near centre of town so everything in walking distance, lovely pubs and resturants especially enjoyed italian. sea only few miles away at lowestoft and southwold. Chris and sue next door were lovely and very helpful. Would defenetly stay again! Julie from Kingshill Kent (11 March 2017)
It was like staying in a little piece of history. memorabilia from the old bakery was sprinkled throughout. the hosts live next door and were always available and extremely helpful and friendly. Julie from Italy (01 February 2017)
Great place to stay. Very cosy and welcoming. Cottage full of character and plenty to see and do in beccles and the surrounding area. Steve from Rochford (12 January 2017)
Really could not fault the whole week there at all. We wanted a period cottage in a quiet location and northgate bakery annex was exactly what we were hoping for. Chris and sue were excellent hosts and extremely helpful for anything we needed and provided some first class tips of the best places round abouts to enjoy the week Roy from Crawley (05 November 2016)
Lovely little cottage in a good location, close to river, 5 min walk into town. Nice walks close by. The owners home is attached to the cottage but that is not a problem as the owners chris and sue are extremely welcoming and a font of useful local knowledge. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Brian from Nottingham (08 October 2016)
A very conveniently located property for town amenities, riverside scenery and walks as well as a very good base for touring the area. The property itself is full of character and tasteful fittings. The owners are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The lounge, although quite small and a bit dark, ( characterful and light don't always complement each other) has comfortable seating anda beautiful feature fireplace and the bedroom is outstanding. The spiral staircase is also a feature but would not be suitable for anyone with mobility problems. Floors are uneven which adds to the fun but again would not be suitable for those lacking mobility. The property is spotless. Beccles is a lovely place in itself with a good range of independent shops, two very handily placed supermarkets and plenty of places to eat out. Philip (30 September 2016)
Our stay in this charming cottage was made all the more memorable by the fantastic hosts, sue and chris who went the extra mile to be welcoming. There are plenty of excellent places to eat nearby. Jan from Coventry (23 September 2016)

We had a really nice two night break over valentines thank you Andy from Wickhambrook (14 February 2016)
A lovely little cottage, right in the middle of beccles. nice atmosphere, very clean and nice and toasty on a cold winters weekend. . the one thing that let the weekend down was the thin doors/walls to the main property. conversations could be clearly heard, especially with raised voices and that spoiled the evening somewhat listening to an animated debate going on next door. Paul from Peterborough (07 February 2016)
Really enjoyed the stay in this cottage. Very convenient location and very comfortable, homely feeling. Would re-book again if the opportunity arises. Tony from Hong Kong (22 October 2015)
I had a wonderful time and chris and sue were so helpful and welcoming. beccles is a lovely area and I would like to go back. Lovely restaurants close by. . the cottage was very comfortable and I felt the owners had gone to a lot of trouble to make my stay so great. There was tea, coffee, biscuits, hair dryer, brilliant make up mirror which I was not expect. . the towels were soft and the bed was so comfortable - I cannot praise my stay enough! Susan from Colchester (13 September 2015)
Lovely cottage. Friendly owners. Interesting market town. Proximity of supermarket and town centre meant shopping was easy - important for self catering holidays. Would definitely recommend. Sheila from Nottingham (28 August 2015)
Absolutely fantastic base to travel around the area, in the annexe there is everything you could wish for and more, the owners are brilliant and very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, we would definitely stay again. First class. As with other reviews the stairs could be a problem if your mobility is not 100 per cent we were ok and we ain't no spring chickens. Ken from Doncaster (21 August 2015)

The hosts chris and sue were very warm and friendly. We arrived as guests and left as friends. Lovely cottage within minutes walk of the centre of beccles. We were there for a week, and found loads to do every day. Southwold, bungay and halesworth all within 20 minutes drive, and all well worth a visit. The whole area is like stepping back in time and everyone we met was friendly and helpful. Keith from Rainham, Essex (27 March 2015)
Beautiful cottage full of character. Beccles has everything needed. Good public transport if you don't want to use the car. Walks from the door along the riverbank. good location for exploring the area - southwold, dunwich and minsmere. Steve from North Lincolnshire (20 March 2015)
Comfortable, quirky, excellent value and convenient for town facilities. Just what we wanted for our weekend visit. Alaster from Lincoln (16 March 2015)
Beautiful cottage. excellent location for the town and other surrounding areas. Everything that we needed was in the cottage. Maybe a more comfortable three piece suite is the only thing I would say. Karen from Sileby (06 March 2015)
Stayed just after christmas, cottage is lovely, with everything you think you would want plus more. It is warm and cosy and while close to centre of town it was quiet. . the hosts are friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. They had even put up a christmas tree in the cottage. Alex from London (04 January 2015)
A comfortable and cosy cottage in a good location. the hosts are friendly and welcoming. We only stayed for two nights but would like to go back. Brenda from Ingrave (03 November 2014)
We spent a very pleasant week here. chris and sue were most welcoming, helpful and friendly. the cottage was well equipped, clean and comfortable and provided safe parking on site. we also found plenty to keep us interested in the surrounding area and particularly enjoyed pizza piatto, an excellent italian restaurant nearby. the elderly and infirm may find the cottage stairs somewhat difficult. Trevor from Ampthill (03 October 2014)
Lovely cottage. The stairs were a bit steep but we were warned about that. sue & chris were very welcoming Sonia from Sheffield (26 September 2014)
Loved the cottage and all facilities. Some traffic noise from road at front but other than that would fully recommend, sue and chris (the owners) were lovely and very helpful. Look forwards to staying again. Martyn from Gaydon (22 August 2014)
