May cottage is a lovely property, situated a couple of miles from bacton and the beaches at walcott and mundesley. The nearest amenities are reached by car. The cottage itself is very comfortable with a lovely garden to relax in. The owner has paid attention to detail with plenty of homely touches. We would not hesitate to recommend the property as a great base to explore the norfolk coast. Diane from Ormskirk (06 August 2016)
Lovely cottage, furnished with everything needed and to a high standard, exceptional garden, conservatory means you can enjoy the garden from inside. The owner is very helpful and friendly. The area is perfect for exploring the area and pub food locally is good, a wonderful holiday and would recommend and return. Pam from Manchester (02 July 2016)
May cottage is a peaceful cottage with lovely gardens and patio area for sitting out on when the weather is good. Plenty of space for parking and storing bikes. It is a very well equipped cottage indeed and the owners are extremely helpful with a warm, friendly welcome. . the only reason I haven't given the property a 10 is that there is only 1 bathroom/ toilet which could be a slight disadvantage for a family of 4. everything else about the cottage is perfect. Angela from Newton Abbot (25 June 2016)
This is the third year that we have stayed at may cottage and we have been fortunate to find a beautiful well equipped thatched cottage. . situated just outside north walsham it is nicely out of the way and secluded. Inside the cottage is furnished and decorated to a high standard. There is plenty to do on the north norfolk coast and the beaches are lovely. Kim from Kendal (26 September 2015)
Absolutely exceptional accommodation. completely faultless. Samantha from Garstang (29 August 2015)
The cottage and gardens were lovely it was beautifully decorated and very well equipped. We would definitely stay there again. The location was good not too far to the beach or the boards. Tracey from West Malling (22 August 2015)
Loved our time at may cottage. Beautifully decorated with an 'enchanted' garden (according to our daughter!), we got to see a part of norfolk we'd never visitef before. Rachel from Berkhamsted (15 August 2015)
Beautiful cottage and garden in a quiet location. Everything you need is here and isn't far from north norfolk and norwich. it's a good base to get around. no village pub close by as advertised. Is in next village. However brilliant relaxing stay. The owner was great Sian from Sheffield (27 June 2015)
Just like home from home. It was a bit out of the way so everyday was travelling but I knew that when I booked. The children loved it, especially the garden. Judith from Basildon (30 May 2015)
Extremely comfortable, clean, nicely decorated, well equipped cottage with a beautiful garden that we would not hesitate to return too if visiting norfolk again. host was very welcoming, informative and nothing was too much trouble. highly recommended. Jacqueline from Speak (23 May 2015)
The owner of the cottage was very welcoming and helpful. Totally enjoyed our time there! Julia from Leeds (09 May 2015)
My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our holiday while staying at may cottage. We were very impressed with the quality of the cottage and the hospitality of the owner. We loved the added touch of an easter egg too Kayleigh from Llanelli (11 April 2015)
The cottage is very well presented and located on the outskirts of bacton about 5 minutes car drive from the beach. the owner greeted us on our arrival to show us around and provide general information. there was every home from home convenience together with milk, bread and biscuits. . . the cottage is clean and comfortable. wi fi had a strong signal meeting the demands of a modern families gadgets. . the wood burner is our only disappointment. it is one of our main holiday requirements, however it was not available to use. we were not told on booking or in the paperwork we received and only found out via the owner on our arrival. it has not been available since 2011 according to the guest information in the cottage. for future reference this is something that should be made clear on the website. . had it not been for our disappointment that the wood burner was unavailable we would give an overall rating as 10/10 Sandra from Reading (01 November 2014)
We found the cottage very well equipped & extremely clean. Cosy, homey feel & nice little touches from the owner. Leanne from Newington (25 October 2014)

Catherine from London (29 December 2012)
This is not a review, but although we had a lovely holiday and the cottage was beautifully furnished and very elegant, I did expect for there to be a hair dryer provided. Customer 35 (December 2012)

We received a very friendly and helpful welcome from the owner of this really beautiful cottage. may cottage is very well equipped and extremely comfortable; it is set in an excellent location for norfolk's east and north coasts, the broads and national trust properties. Londsey from Nailsea (01 September 2012)
Lovely cottage, well maintained and a friendly welcome. Would absolutely recommend for a great relaxing holiday. Quiet location, but great for exploring norfolk. Nicola from Ormskirk (07 July 2012)
Comfortable, get away from it all property with everthing you need, lovely sun room and fantastic garden. Sharon from Meltham (09 June 2012)
A shame there was not a visitors book as useful for places to go etc The property was lovely but had not realised the bathroom was downstairs , not a real problem but a bit annoying in the night. Apart from that facilities excellent. Customer 42 (June 2012)
Great cottage with beautiful garden, clean and comfortable with everything you could possibly need. Lovely quiet location but within easy access to explore the whole of Norfolk. Would love to go and stay again. Customer 43 (June 2012)
Fantastic cottage done to a very high standard, central location would definately stay again. Confirmed Purchaser (26 May 2012)
Beautiful property. Great that we had no neighbours so we could relax with the children; and didn’t have to suffer anyone elses kids. Lovely part of the country, garden was super for the girls and excellent that there was cycling from the door and off road cycling at nearby estates. The settee and chairs looked nice but weren’t particularly comfortable (no head rest) and far too many trendy cushions! Customer 45 (March 2012)
May Cottage is a lovely thatched house between North Walsam (3 miles) and Bacton (1.5 miles approx.). It is surrounded by fields. When we visited (Christmas Holidays), the road running alongside the house was pretty quiet. The cottage itself has a fairly large, nicely maintained garden to the back, side and front, as well as a drive way with enough space for three to four cars. Outside the conservatory to the back of the house, there is a spacious patio area. The interior of the cottage has been refurbished recently to a high standard. The fully fitted kitchen has got in-built appliances (fridge, freezer, washing machine and dishwasher). A definite plus for any person into cooking is the range style cooker - it came in extremely handy for our Christmas dinner. In the bathroom, we particularly appreciated the large roll top bath - ideal for relaxing. The living room is spacious and comfortably furnished, the space can be extended further by opening up the three-part folding doors to the equally spacious, high quality conservatory (heated). Upstairs, there are three (smallish) bedrooms with a reasonable amount of storage. The beds were comfortable, the bedding exceptionally clean. We really loved our break at May cottage - it was uncluttered, fairly spacious, exceptionally clean, well equipped, well furnished and comfortable to live in. This was no doubt helped by the brilliant central heating system. We would not hesitate to book another holiday at May Cottage, as it suited our needs perfectly and easily matched, if not exceeded our expectations. Customer 46 (December 2011)
A fantastic holiday cottage with all mod cons, the owner has tried to think of everything you could possibly need. The finish of the cottage was beautiful, the lounge and conservatory were a lovely feature, beautiful garden, fantastic roll top bath. Would highly recommend. Customer 47 (June 2011)
It was an excellent property. It was incredibly uncluttered which was appreciated - however uncluttered to the extent that there wasn’t even a game of scrabble or pack of playing cards. We didn’t take our own as we expected that something would be provided, so that was lacking. It would also have been nice to have a bat and ball for the beach provided, as has been our previous experience. But otherwise excellent. Customer 48 (May 2011)
A fantastic cottage which was very welcoming and comfortable. Customer 49 (April 2011)
It is a really beautiful thatched property with more than ample parking lovely garden which my 20 month old enjoyed playing in and having an apple a day of the trees. The whole place was just gorgeous so well equipped, said to my partner I’d love to live here all the time. Really felt comfortable and at home in the cottage. Nice quiet location but not far to your nearest supermarket (10 minute drive) and many places to visit. Excellent property to have in your catalogue. Customer 50 (October 2010)
Modern. Clean. Very well appointed. Spacious grounds. Customer 51 (September 2010)
Very good quality fittings and fixtures and lovely garden; room for bikes, plenty of parking space. Customer 52 (July 2010)
Cottage is very comfortable although bedrooms a little small but part of the charm of being in a thatched cottage. Pretty private garden, excellent facilities provided, very clean. Located close to a number of lovely sandy beaches and tourist attractions. Customer 54 (July 2010)
