Wells-next-the-sea is a great place for a holiday. the actual accommodation is basic, rather grubby and tired. it needs some money spent on it for decoration and a thorough clean. the next-door neighbour audrey was very helpful and pleasant and I would like to record my family's warm thanks to her. Robert from Burnham, Bucks (22 July 2017)
A very comfortable cottage in wells next the sea, ideal location for exploring north norfolk coastline. Barbara from Cheshunt Herts (08 July 2017)
Enjoyable holiday. all satisfactory with the house. Jane from Town (17 June 2017)
The accomadtion could do with redecorating & modernising. I feel that appliances such as kettles, toasters etc should be replaced regularly as should pillows & duvets. in its present state I do not feel that it was good value for the money that we paid for it. Customer 4 from Huthwaite (03 June 2017)
Very clean and nice cottage. Quick access to local amenities by foot or car. Neighbours are very helpful. We will definitely stay again. Kenroy from Luton (17 February 2017)
The cottage was very clean, tidy and everything that we expected it to be. . the caretaker of the cottage audrey was there to greet us and was very helpful and should we have needed her during our stay would have been pleased to help. . . the cottage was cosy, just what we need for a well earned break and close to all amenities and parking as well was a treat. . we had a fantastic week and the weather was also kind to us. . thanks for a great holiday. Wendy from Cambridgeshire (05 November 2016)
A very nice house in a quiet location ideal for touring the north norfolk coast Brian from Lowestoft (08 October 2016)
Best thing about this was location. cottage has great potential but appears to have been rather neglected - owner needs to attend to rotting window sills outside. The shower was a trickle - the most frustrating i've ever stood under. Also the 2 side lamps in the double bedroom were extremely wobbly, proving most difficult to operate the switch with my arthritic hands. Naturally, we assumed towels would be provided..isn't that standard these days? had it not been for the ever helpful neighbour we'd have been in a bit of a pickle. Perhaps my fault for not reading the small print - but towels are bulky to pack..and who wants to put damp towels back in the case to travel home?. this property was of a much poorer standard than any of the others we have stayed at through your company and we wouldn't stay there again. Sheila from Worcester (01 October 2016)
Had a great week at mallards. Arrived early but the cottage was ready so we were allowed in. Just across the road from the supermarket so very convenient, and within 5 minutes walk of the small town and seafront. Furniture comfortable. Although the room was fairly small it could've done with a larger tv and wifi! having 2 teenagers with me this was quite a talking point over the week! a couple of niggly bits was I couldn't find a dustpan and brush to sweep up the sand from the beach, and could've done with more ordinary drinking glasses. The window frames will need replacing very soon. The small garden was nice to sit in but slighty perturbed when I looked out of the upstairs window to see a rat running across the lawn where i'd been lying only the afternoon before. It was nice to have a parking space right outside the front door so we could unload easily and not worry about parking whatever time we came back. Juliet from Ealing (13 August 2016)
Very nice cottage needs new windows & doors Leonard from Lowestoft (16 July 2016)
A lovely , comfortable house , well equipped and located close to the town. Susan from Staffordshire (18 June 2016)
A clean, comfortable base for a short holiday with a warm welcome. Rosalind from Suffolk (28 May 2016)
We enjoyed our stay at the mallards. The house was in a good location. The friendly caretaker was at hand, but not obtrusive. The chairs and settee were comfortable and we had no problems sleeping. Also parking on the drive was convenient. Kim from Bury St Edmunds (21 May 2016)
Had a lovely week Ewy from Cambridge (17 October 2015)
Extremely clean for a holiday let and located within an easy walk for the family to the village and beach. unfortunately our holiday had quite a lot of rain but a very comfy stay. The lady next door who looks after the let was very welcoming and helpful. Anne from London (01 August 2015)
Delightful and near the port. Just what we wanted. Charles from Chelmsford (19 January 2015)
Mallards is not luxurious but it is a lovely friendly base for a great holiday in north norfolk. Would definitely recommend it. We have stayed there three times over the years and are looking forward to our next visit. Frances from Poole (20 September 2014)
Perfect, easy location, with a lovely south facing garden for eating in the sun. Confirmed Purchaser (31 May 2014)
Jaded and faded. Good location. Property in need of thorough spring clean, maintenance, new beds, new bedding, new crockery, better heating, double glazing, thicker curtains. Heather from Greater Manchester (16 November 2013)
Cottage needed thorough clean, bed sheets need replacing and kitchen equipment needs updating. Barbara from Hornchurch (10 October 2013)
Great location and very close to the bowling green pub which we used frequently. They had a good choice of food and the beers were good too. It is nice to be near the town centre but in a completely quiet location. The term "cottage" is not what we would apply to such a modern house but the picture shows this. Audrey was very good but we felt that perhaps tea towels could be included as it's not something you automatically pack, and also a pint of milk to make a drink would be very appreciated especially by folks, who like us, have had a long journey. Audrey did provide some but it meant we had to go out immediately for shopping, not ideal after a 4 hour drive. Newton from Worcestershire (28 September 2013)
No radio. Fantastic holiday, weather brilliant, plenty to see. Loved the quayside activity. Marian from St Albans (06 September 2013)
We found the house rather shabby with worn, stained and faded carpets, rusty fridge door, kitchen worktop trim missing, dressing table edge broken, decayed and poorly decorated windows, beds that creaked and groaned everytime you moved in them and cheap and worn patio furniture. Good size garden, good wardrobing, very convenient location and helpful neighbour/housekeeper Will from Ascot (27 Jul 2013)
Very close to the high street , the quay and short pleasant walk to the beach Adil from Middlesex (01 Jun 2013)
Comfortable and convenient Customer 25 from Driffield (17 November 2012)
The location was good, and we found it easy to get around wells. . Michael from Nottingham (04 August 2012)
Great location, clean. audrey very welcoming, helped us with a tarpaulin to cover our bikes Juliet from Ealing London (14 July 2012)
Very handy for the Norfolk coast by being central, comfy aand clean place to stay. Customer 28 (October 2011)
Quiet, comfortable, modern house - have stayed there twice so far and had wonderful holidays. Looking forward to our next visit. Customer 29 (April 2011)
It’s just a regular house, so there’s no particular charm, but it’s good accommodation for a week in Wells. Customer 30 (May 2010)
Excellent quiet location on the outskirts of Wells with an easy walk into town. Customer 31 (September 2009)
Mallards was clean and comfortable. Car parking was fine and in front of the property. 2 bedrooms which was fine for my son, his friend and I. Garden pleasant and quiet. Mallards in a quiet cul-de-sac away from the noise of the town which we wanted. Local supermarkets will deliver if you don’t want to struggle with shopping. Customer 32 (July 2009)
