Very nice, we didn't want to leave. we loved button cottage xxx Simon from York (24 July 2017)
A very pleasant stay in a lovely cottage. Graeme from Norwich (09 June 2017)
Cottage was excellent / had everything you needed - watching peacocks strolling across the front garden was a great experience. The welcome pack was much appreciated and the " things to do and see " box was very helpful - especially for places to eat. Well positioned for those who wish to travel round the area, supermarket and petrol station lees than 10 mins away. Eric from Leeds (26 May 2017)
Cottage was lacking in storage for clothes and food. otherwise no particular comment. Customer 4 (19 May 2017)
Small but compact cottage with good facilities location is excellent quiet area apart from. Peacocks which can be a little noisy and messy belonging to the nearby hall. Welcome hamper was a nice touch. Overall very satisfied with the property Jennifer from Ormskirk (01 May 2017)
A wonderful cottage. Our expectations were high and it easily exceeded what we had hoped. the peacocks & guinea fowl added to the enjoyment. we didn't expect the welcome hamper which was a considerate touch. only negative was small which reflected my inability to switch off from work - wifi was very erratic. a minor point among the myriad of positives. . many thanks. . we'll be back. . alan & lynne. Alan from Milton Keynes (09 April 2017)
Very cute place. Great location and good facilities given size. Appeared clean when we arrived but huge cobwebs everywhere that show a lack of attention to higher areas of cottage. Wifi mostly didn't work and when it did the connection was very poor. Kelly from Leeds (24 February 2017)
Lovely little cottage, amazing to see and have the birds and peacocks wandering around. . the only criticism that we would have is that the microwave is an awkward place and as a result I spilt hot curry all down myself trying to get it out. Genna from West Midlands (18 February 2017)
We had a fantastic stay and the cottage was great and well equipped. Although the cottage was reasonably clean, there were large amounts of cobwebs and the decor is getting tired with freys on the furniture in places. The peacocks were a fantastic surprise and the welcome bottle of wine was a nice touch. We would stay at button cottage again but it would attract a higher score with some minor decor and cleanliness improvements. Jason from East Keal, Lincs (22 January 2017)
Enjoyed it Kathy from Harrogate (04 January 2017)
The cottage was lovely, really cute and local amenities are easy to drive to in alnwick. We would come back, but it would be in the summer. The only problem was that we had some difficulty heating the living/dining room. Upon arrival the thermostat was set to 17oc and the cottage was quite chilly, despite us giving an eta to the owners. On one occasion the thermostat read 26oc (the max) and we were both sitting with our jumpers on, there is no way it felt like 26oc! the owner did come out to investigate, but we were told that the thermostat was working fine. The only way we could get the living room up to a nice temperature was to put the log burner on, which wouldn't have been a problem apart from the fact that we were only provided with one (2-3hr) log pack for the weekend! even after passing my concerns onto the owner no more logs were offered and we had to buy more in town. It's a shame that such a small thing made such a big difference to our weekend. Confirmed Guest (04 December 2016)
Fantastic little cottage. Kitchen equipment, pans knifes etc need a bit of an upgrade. Only bad point is the log burner. Really wanted a log fire. All you get to do is put one fire brick in at a time. Which after the first two you have to buy. Peter from Carlisle (25 November 2016)
So much better than we expected. Lovely quiet location. More private than we'd expected. Had so much in the cottage that we'd brought just one case - pots, crocs, glasses, utensils etc. In the kitchen were better than I have at home! a pair of albino peacocks on the doorstep in the morning was a delight. We weren't after close amenities, though alnwick was close enough for what we needed. We loved stargazing on our first night. The cottage is far enough off the beaten track that light pollution is gone and we saw the milky way for the first time. Reallf felt lucky to have found this place. Confirmed Guest (24 October 2016)
Lovely quiet and peaceful cottage. Plenty of quiet undulating cycling routes from the door. . handy for access to both coast and hills. Keith from Roseacre (19 August 2016)
There is no washing machine as described in cottage details. It is claustrophobic -windows do not open. Bedroom & especially bathroom are quite dark -need more lighting. It could also be improved with an electric kettle. button cottage also appeared to have the boiler in our bathroom for thimble cottage next door -it was difficult for us to sleep when the hot water was being used for bath, shower etc at 11 or 12 o clock or even later. Finally there was no housekeeping literature/instructions that you usually have in holiday cottages. Confirmed Guest (29 July 2016)
Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting just a couple of miles from alnwick, with all it has to offer. Very nice of the owners to leave some basics for us to get started, including eggs and a bottle of wine. Beautifully equipped bathroom and comfortable bed. Living room with corner kitchenette perfect for the job. Look out for the tame peacocks.. the only things preventing a perfect ten were . 1 rather limited storage space for clothes and . 2 patchy tv reception especially bbc channels, and internet fairly hit and miss as well. . would definitely stay again though. Alan from South Croydon, Surrey (15 July 2016)
Button cottage is a lovely cosy place to stay - a tranquil haven. We loved it's character and location in a beautiful rural setting but only a short trip to local towns and places of interest. Joan from Salisbury (24 June 2016)
Delightful spot 1.5 miles down a lane from the roman road between alnwick and cragside. could be difficult to access in snow or ice. . quality fitout to kitchen and bathrooms and comfortable sofa etc. Bedroom quite compact (lots of hooks but no wardrobes). good heating to lounge and bedroom but difficult to understand how to adjust (printed instructions would be helpful), heated towel rail only in bathroom. Major let down was overly soft bed which gave no back support until I slept with a cushion under back Keith from Sydney (09 June 2016)
The cottage was a lovely break, very nice inside and the outskirts provided a nice walk Rachael from Newcastle (05 June 2016)
Lovely little cottage! absolutely beautifully decorated and had everything we could have wanted! only negative would be problems with wi-fi connection, although I did have some success in the evenings for some reason! Ann from Tamworth (02 June 2016)
Fabulous weekend getaway. Lovely secluded location within easy drive of alnwick would definitely stay again Filly from Darlington (18 April 2016)
Absolutely beautiful cottage, in a lovely setting we plan to return in november. Excellent value for money Allan from Huddersfield (28 March 2016)
Lovely little cottage in a beautiful location. The cottage was clean and warm and a lovely little touch was a bottle of wine and jams from the owners upon arrival. Confirmed Guest (19 February 2016)
It was a little bit musty in the cottage and I think this may have been the result of some damp autumnal weather. It was located in a good position to visit all the local attractions and it was very peaceful. Jenny from Marlo (02 November 2015)
Thank you very much. We had a really good time. Lovely wee cottage in a great place. Chris from Edinburgh (16 October 2015)
Superb hideaway cottage in beautiful surroundings. It was a lovely touch by the owners leaving us a welcome package of milk, jam, wine and freshly laid eggs by the owner's hens. We would definitely like to return in the future. Alan from Solihull (02 October 2015)
Button cottage is so cute. it's very welcoming and a perfect base for exploring all the surrounding area and local attractions. the friendly peacocks come by to say hello every day. Georgina from Tamp, Florida (24 September 2015)
A calm and beautiful location. A perfect hub for exploring northumberland. The cottage, although small, was more than adequate in terms of comfort, cleanliness and well equipped. Margaret from Edgware (18 September 2015)
Lovely cottage, beautifully decorated and in a great location. ideal for small break. Norma from Edinburgh (11 September 2015)
Beautiful and peaceful. Confirmed Guest (06 September 2015)
Location was a bit isolated with wifi and mobile connection not good. So we did not feel connected to the world . if you want a holiday away from these things then it is perfect. Fred from Preston (21 August 2015)
We enjoyed the time we were there. Imaginatively fitted out. We feel it is better for a few days as there is very little storage. Susan from Alford, Lincs. (12 June 2015)
Absolutely loved it! such a gorgeous retreat and amazing surroundings. The owners made us feel so welcome. Only a week off and 3 nights away but it felt like forever. We will definitely want to come back! thank you so much :-) Rhiannon from Wilmslow (28 May 2015)
Excellent location for walking & outdoors. Very peaceful surroundings. Had a great long wkend stay. Claire from York (25 May 2015)
We had a lovely time in very tastefully equipped cottage. There was everything you needed to make your stay a good one. We would stay again. Graham from Boston, Lincs. (22 May 2015)
Lovely small cottage (photos taken at wide angle)! great location for exploring northumberland. Excellent equipment & high quality fittings throughout. As other reviews have commented some more storage for clothes & food would be a bonus. Elaine from Bolton (27 March 2015)
Beautiful cottage in stunning setting, can't fault it! button cottage really is as cute as a button! Beth from York (23 March 2015)

The best cottage we have ever stayed in. Eve from Norfolk (02 November 2014)
We loved it! Vicky from Great Yarmouth (10 October 2014)
Great little place in beautiful, quiet nature and wildife surroundings -would have been good if been a bit more storage space to put our luggage and food stocks - but not of any real significance and in no way took away from the charm and atmosphere of this lovely location!would definitely come again. Helen from Luton (03 October 2014)
Perfect base for exploration. Quiet and cosy. Friendly and accommodating owners. Comes with peacock! David from Manchester (25 July 2014)

Idyllic in everyway Richard from Telford (06 June 2014)
We enjoyed our stay which was very comfortable.the area around alnwick is beautiful.the cottage is very well equipped and is just right for couples. The only suggestion we would make is perhaps to put some storage for clothes in the bedroom. We would definitely stay again if visiting the area. Adrian from Brentwood (18 April 2014)

Luxurious cottage, cosy and well equipped in a peaceful location. Confirmed Purchaser from Birmingham (20 January 2014)
We had a very enjoyable holiday staying at button cottage and would definitely recommend it to others. The cottage is small, but very comfortable and clean, with all the necessary appliances. The location is very peaceful and we enjoyed waking up to peacocks in the front garden! the owners are lovely and very welcoming. The cottage is quite isolated (it is a 10 minute drive to alnwick) but this all adds to the experience of staying in beautiful northumberland! Stephanie from Derby (04 January 2014)
The cottage though compact offered everything that was possible and we enjoyed a lovely christmas. Extra touches were very appreciated such as fresh eggs, milk and a salt and pepper mill. Confirmed Purchaser (27 December 2013)
