Excellent place to stay and karen was the ideal person to run a holiday home. In fact we are thinking of booking a smaller cottage next year to see more of shropshire. our american family were very impressed.
Janet from Wivenhoe (21 July 2017)

Brilliant holiday cottage. Well appointed bedrooms all spotlessly clean. Nice toiletries supplied in the bathrooms too. Kitchen is fairly well equipped. Most things for a short stay. Really good for a group but the wooden floors upstairs are noisy - possible would be a problem with young children.
Cathy from Solihull (15 May 2017)

Loved the property, was well located with beautiful views. . was very clean except for the pull out drawer in the washing machine which was very mouldy
Pam from Newport (28 April 2017)

A perfect place
Elizabeth from Billericay (20 March 2017)

We hired kingfisher cottage for a reunion with friends, everyone loved having their own bathroom and the lounge /dining area was ideal for our group of 14. Everything was clean and looked after, the lounge was cosy with a wood burner to add to the comfort. Overall this was a great cottage with a high spec and I would highly recommend it. The cottage is near bridgnorth which was well worth a visit as is the severn valley railway.
Paula from Crawley (06 March 2017)

A lovely place to stay with friends, all en suite rooms. Walking in the area is good, and the pub is not too far away. Had a lovely time, would like to visit in the summer. Thank you
Confirmed Guest (13 February 2017)

This is a comfortable house in a good location with good walks and bridgnorth near by. . I think the rating of 5 star is too high and 4 star is more appropriate as there was not sufficient crockery for 14 people and a lack of kitchen knives, peelers etc. . the most important point to mention was that the heating described as 'set by the management for comfort and to reduce the carbon foot print' was completely uncontrollable. despite reducing the thermostats most evenings in cold temperatures over new year we had windows and the patio door open due to the excessive heat. this meant that we could never enjoy the wood burning stove. the bedrooms were not warm when required then excessively hot upon going to bed. . this is a good venue for a group but a shame about the heating.
Ann from Derby (04 January 2017)

Excellent homely cottage with loads of room in a great location
Tony from Kesgrave (21 October 2016)

Excellent accommodation with spacious en suite bathrooms. We had a few issues during the week which the owners are in the process of fixing. We would return and we were very impressed with shropshire. Don't miss the ironbridge gorge and world heritage museums.
Lesley from Corfe Castle (14 October 2016)

The house was brilliant for a fun, family weekend. Great location, with lots of space inside and out for the children to run around. The house had everything you could want and need for your weekend, with a big table to eat around and lots of games and table tennis to keep everyone amused. The only downside is there is wooden floors everywhere, so whilst great for keeping clean it is a bit noisy upstairs. Would definitely recommend and would like to return.
Rebecca from Carterton (12 September 2016)

Very relaxed holiday in luxurious accommodation. isolated enough to be peaceful and private without being too far from attractions.
Peter from Bradford (26 August 2016)

A lovely cottage. Lots of space inside for active toddlers, an enclosed garden for them to play in, and for them the highlight was the farm with horses, dogs and chickens.
Customer 12 from Berkshire (17 June 2016)

Our group had an excellent weekend at kingfisher cottage. it's location is ideal for walking or travelling by car to visit the area. it is well furnished, clean and spacious with excellent bedrooms. the downstairs bedroom is very spacious with it's own sitting area and large bathroom. there is plenty to see and do in the area such as ironbridge, the severn valley railway and bridgnorth itself. the owners are not intrusive but on hand if you have any problems or queries. a property that we will definitely return to in the future.
Paul from Birmingham (09 May 2016)

Excellent cottage, well placed for visiting attractions in the area, cottage well equipped with everything one could possibly need. . karen the owner made us a beautiful chocolate cake as a welcome gift, highly recommended accommodation.
Confirmed Guest (22 April 2016)

An excellent weekend break in every aspect.
Shirley from Stoke Poges (18 April 2016)

Kingfisher cottage is a great house in good location. It was clean and well equipped. It's great that each bedroom has it's own bathroom. The open plan tiled ground floor was great for the grandchildren with their heelies and didicar and just generally running about. The garden was good too. . two downsides: it is very noisy. The upstairs floor creak really badly and this is particularly bad for the occupants of the ground floor bedroom. . there is building work going on - there is a huge house just being completed right next to the house. This looks great by the way and has the lovely view to the lake which kingfisher would have had, but leaves kingfisher a little overlooked and hemmed in.
Pam from Aylesbury (08 April 2016)

The cottage was perfect for our get-together . the bedrooms and ensuites most suitable for our mixed age family of 14 . large dining table , extensive kitchen made meal times easy . safe garden and surrounding area great for the children .
Pauline from Formby (01 April 2016)

We loved this property. Fab views and very spacious and well kept. Close to bridgenorth which has plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants.
Gail from Wallasey (14 March 2016)

Karen was a great host, and nothing was too much trouble. We also had the opportunity to view the new property they're building which was fabulous. Looking forward to a return trip in the not too distant future.
Samantha from Stanwick (07 March 2016)

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful cottage - there were 7 of us on our annual get together and we all agreed it was perfect. the wooden floors in the upstairs bedrooms were very noisy - just walking across the room sounded like an army on patrol to people sitting below! we did mention it to the owners and they agreed it was a problem that they intended to address in the future. Apart from that we all enjoyed the peace and quiet of the countryside and the warmth and comfort of the cottage (it was february and very cold outside so the underfloor heating was perfect when you got up in the morning!) would we recommend it - yes we would. Would we go there again - most certainly.
Muriel from Milland West Sussex (26 February 2016)

Great place, spacious, nicely decorated and well equipped. Plenty of crockery, cutlery and glasses, just missing a corkscrew!. . disappointed not to have been informed about the building work, only knew about it from other people's reviews. However, it did not disturb us but does impact the garden being classed as enclosed due to it only being a temporary flimsy fence. . friendly owners and wonderful home baked cake on arrival.
Rachel from Northampton (15 February 2016)

Great property for a group with bathrooms for all rooms. Well equipped in general but short on crockery (quantities perhaps not checked on handover) so short on mugs and bowls nice touches like shower gel and body lotion for all. Good pans and other kitchen paraphanalia
Sue from Lancs (20 November 2015)

We were very impressed with kingfisher cottage. Spacious, extremely well-equipped and ideal for our group. We will certainly return.
Deana from Nottingham (09 November 2015)

We had a lovely weekend in a great house and location. owners couldn't have been more helpful. the reason I gave only a 9 for equipment, was as there wasn't a central light in the lounge, it was difficult to read. perhaps some reading lamps would be helpful, or we may need to go to 'spec savers'! will definitely return.
Barbara from Ceredigion (28 September 2015)

A well enjoyed short break , very nice holiday home , could be improved by a small t v in bedrooms , as were all couples , and some times wanted to see our own things , but that was not that important . great location , plenty to see and explore . easy place to keep clean , tile floors down stairs, and lovely boarded floor up stairs. Good value for money , with the rebate , for inconvenience of the work force , building next door . who where very polite and quite . we would recommend to anybody .
Anne from Chesterfield (25 September 2015)

Great place for a family get together
Dave from High Wycombe (21 September 2015)

I was so pleased we managed to keep everyone happy with our chosen holiday home this time, no grumbles at all from 5 couples/families. All ensuite bedrooms then with the open plan kitchen, dining room, lounge and garden access made such a huge difference. Would recommend this place to everyone. We will definitely be going back as we have set the bench mark now and I know it will be tough to match elsewhere. Owners are super friendly and the kids loved the space and the animals. Slightly more than our usual budget but so worth the extra! only very small issue was the creaky floorboards upstairs, maybe some carpet runners could fix that though. Thank you
Natalie from Coventry (14 August 2015)

Lovely stay in a wonderful house, would highly recommend it to anybody looking for this type of property, would also highly recommend the on site catering that is available, my only concern would be the new property that is being built within touching distance of kingfisher cottage.
Steven from Solihull (06 July 2015)

We really loved the house but the building of the the new houses right next to it meant that we lost the beautiful view from the garden which was such a shame
Jill from High Wycombe (15 June 2015)

This was our third stay so that should give an indication of our view. The fact that all bedrooms were en suite was a major plus.
Peter from Watford, Herts (18 May 2015)

Lovely place just a shame we lost the full garden that we had years previously.
Jess from Derby (10 April 2015)

Kingfisher cottage was a surprise to us. it exceeded our expectations in almost every way. karen (the owner) was extremely helpful and friendly and responded to all our enquiries straight away. the accommodation was all we wished for and the kitchen well equipped. towels, bedding and other equipment were all in plentiful supply and the log-burning stove was a luxury, as the weather was cold! the under-floor heating made the whole house comfortable, especially walkling around tiled floors bare-foot!. . we are agroup of 12 who meet annually at thsi time of year and the choiuce of venue is important - kingfisher cottage did not let us down!! . . thank you.
Phil from Northampton (16 March 2015)

Had a great stay at kingfisher cottage, views are great and the cottage itself has everything you could want. I have already recommended it to my friends, and we are making plans to make a return visit next year
Steve from Burntwood (09 March 2015)

We really enjoyed our stay and were made very welcome with bubbly and cake! it was great with the log burning stove and all of us having en suites. The kitchen was well quipped for our 'come dine with m'e theme weekend. The only difficulty arose from the fact that our sleep was disturbed by the creaky floorboards; the house is all tiles and wood and looks lovely - but all noises tend to reverberate around.
Vivien from Wigan (16 February 2015)

Great cottage, well laid out for large parties of mixed age groups. Only minor gripes would be the in the kitchen. It could do with a microwave, the cooker hob only has four rings and seeing that this accommodation sleeps fourteen it would probably have been more useful to have fitted at least six rings and a new tin opener! overall it was excellent and would definitely recommend for family get togethers.
Confirmed Purchaser (19 January 2015)

Good weekend, shame about the woodburner not working which had left a smoky smell from previous guests. Floors upstairs abit creaky but it was a lovely house with views.
Helen from Shrewsbury (10 November 2014)

A lovely house in a beautiful location. convenient for bridgnorth, the severn valley railway, ironbridge and wenlock edge as well as other local walks. We also managed to get to warwick castle on a day trip, which was worth the drive. . we enjoyed having en suite facilities in all the bedrooms and the open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge area. only problem was the squeaky floorboards upstairs, which could be heard everywhere downstairs. . the children liked the garden area - suitable for football and other games.
Keith from Sunderland (31 October 2014)

We felt a second dishwasher would have made a big difference. Catering for twelve people still meant a lot of hand washing up. . also a warm area for drying clothes would have been helpful. Nevertheless, a very good house and well laid out and equipped. Very helpful owners.
Andrew from Evans (29 August 2014)

A lovely base for a family holiday. However, we found the large number of hard surfaces and noisy floorboards made an echoey atmosphere and meant that early risers woke the rest of the group.
Amanda from Southampton (08 August 2014)

The ground floor bedroom shower had a very high step to get in to it. One of our party has walking difficulties and needed to have the ground floor bedroom. She was unable to get in the shower. For this reason our party would not book again.
Jack from Birmingham (23 May 2014)

Lovely property, shame about the creaky floorboards, once someone was up for an early cuppa, we were all awake! . . very welcoming owner who came bearing a delicious cake!. . just felt a few bits of kitchen equipment were lacking, pyrex casseroles, laundry basket just a couple that come to mind. . . generally though, a perfect property in a lovely area for our gathering of six couples for their annual week away. we loved walking form the house, and there is so much to see in the area. i'm sure we will be back!. . . . .
Angela from Seddon (09 May 2014)

We had a lovely holiday, excellent accommodation, views. Space, and also the weather!!!!. the 6 children in our party had full enjoyment from the garden and it was a perfect place for the family to get together. Also a very nice cake on arrival. Would love to go back!
Becky from East Sussex (18 April 2014)

Well appointed, well equipped cottage, great venue for our family get together.
Customer 43 from West Malling (17 March 2014)

A super, sociable house, great for a large party. The comfortable, spacious layout lent itself to communal living and ensuite bathrooms certainly made getting 10 of us ready in the morning easy. There was so much to do both around the house as well as further afield that everyone had something which appealed to them; so much so in fact that a return visit is a must.
June from Southport (10 March 2014)

Absolutely brilliant. This place is superb and suited our weekend perfectly. We only used 5 of the bedrooms (10 of us) and the owner also catered a dinner party for us on teh saturday night - amazing.
Jacqui from Hemel Hempstead (27 January 2014)

Cottage was perfect for a large gathering including 2 large dogs. Lots of space for kiddies to run around. Everyone was really impressed with the bedrooms and en-suites. cottage had everything we needed and was nice and clean. Don't really have anything negative to say, great break had by all!
Alison from Bedworth (20 January 2014)

We celebrated 2 joint 65th birthdays at kingfisher cottage. With 6 double bedrooms en-suite it was perfect for 6 couples and 2 babies. Everyone had a lovely spacious room. It is of the highest standard, has a large enclosed garden, enjoyed by the children and is in a lovely rural location. We were made very welcome by the owner and can recommend it for any special family occasion.
Kathleen from Lancashire (07 October 2013)

A wonderful property with very friendly and helpful owners. We had terrible weather ,so it was good to have so much space in the house for our party of 12 to spread out. It was a little too far from the local facilities to walk, so a car was needed . we had agreat week of painting and sight seeing. Would love to be there in fairer weather so as to enjoy walking around all the pretty towns and countryside. Would recomend for large parties.
Carol from Saffron Walden (20 September 2013)

Kingfisher cottage was perfect for a larger family holiday, especially as all bedrooms were en-suite. There was masses of room in the garden for the children to play. the kitchen was very well stocked with plates, cutlery and gasses so we never ran out. Massive larder fridge was fantastic. would have one word of caution for families with toddlers who are only just walking - the tied floors throughout the downstairs can be a bit scary for little ones who are still unsteady on their feet.
Linda from Cockermouth (30 August 2013)

Comfortable, well appointed accommodation; beautiful, peaceful location (but within easy reach of shops and other facilities); friendly, helpful owner,
Michael from Epsom (02 August 2013)

Number of bedrooms with e suites. Space for 10 people. Views
Louise from Shoreham-By-Sea (14 Jun 2013)

Well equipped and very spacious with the most comfy beds the 12 of us had ever slept in away from home, beautiful surroundings and gorgeous cake awaited us on our arrival it just was simply the best
Libby from Northampton (20 May 2013)

All bedrooms ensuite!
Helen from Birmingham (15 April 2013)

Fabulous sized house with all equipment you could need. Perfect for a large family get together.
Emma from Leicester (28 January 2013)

Very spacious, but large lounge manages to retain a cozy feel. Excellent en-suites. All bedrooms a good sizes. Beautiful location. .
Alison from York (21 January 2013)

Beautiful house in a beautiful setting.
Tony from Overton (02 November 2012)

En suites to every bedroom, unzippable beds so as 11 females we all had our own bed with no compromising. it was perfect for our requirements.
Penny from Sunbury-On-Thames (12 October 2012)

Everything about the property feels generaous. It is spacious and well-equipped, the beds are comfortable, there is plenty of heating and hot water if needed, and there are many lovely walks straight from the property. This was our fourth stay!!
Sally from Cambridge (10 September 2012)

The property was superb in every respect. The management representatives were friendly and most helpful and, perhaps almost as importantly, we chose the right week for weather!
Customer 59 (September 2012)

Lovely spacious clean accommodation.
Jonathan from Warrington (15 June 2012)

A very comfortable property in a great area for walking.
Customer 61 (March 2012)

Had a fantastic family weekend in this property. All members of family expressed that that the location and property was excellent.
Customer 62 (March 2012)

Beautiful property which actually caters for all members of your party i.e. enough comfy chairs, a large dining area, a large lounge area so you can all be together. Each room is ensuite and as all the beds are zip and link they suite the needs of your party. This property is my benchmark and as of now I haven’t found one that compares.
Customer 63 (February 2012)

Excellent location with walks from the doorstep and great views. The kitchen has everything you could need - there was even a huge home made cake and bottles of wine waiting for us. The bedrooms are all excellent, each with a spotless en suite. Hoping to go back next year.
Customer 64 (February 2012)

We had a really lovely week at Kingfisher Cottage. The owners (who are on site) were fantastic, bringing round a homemade cake to welcome us and dealing with the dishwasher (which broke down whilst we were staying) quickly and helpfully. Thought had really gone into providing everything that you could need - more than enough cutlery and crockery which is unusual for such a large property! We would not hesitate to visit again if we needed such a substantial property.
Customer 65 (December 2011)

We are a walking group of retired people and this holiday was considered one of the best we have ever been on. The location, scenery and the cottage itself were excellent and we are hoping to visit it again.
Customer 66 (May 2011)

The biggest plus was all bedrooms en-suite and all zip and link so choice of twin or double. Big enough lounge for our large party to sit together.
Customer 67 (February 2011)

Luxurious. Very spacious for 12 people. All bedrooms very private with own en suites. Open plan living space downstairs perfect for socialising and entertaining. Surrounded by beautiful countryside. A real escape.
Customer 68 (January 2011)

Fantastic size for our family to spend the weekend together. Kitchen contents had everything and more that we needed to cook for a large group of people. Surroundings beautiful and owner very friendly and helpful.
Customer 69 (December 2010)

It’s spacious with all rooms en suite and a very sociable layout down stairs. Great views and lots to do around there too.
Customer 70 (October 2010)

The property had six spacious en-suite bedrooms, one of which was on the ground floor. This is a fantastic property for a family or large group to get together.
Customer 71 (September 2010)

6 bedrooms AND SIX bathrooms! That is why we chose this property. It is spacious, well appointed and clean. Huge outside area for children’s games. Excellent barbecue. Beautiful panoramic views.
Customer 72 (Aug 2010)

A feeling of space for all ages in our party. Fantastic to find a property with six en suite bathrooms.
Customer 73 (May 2010)

We had a get together of eleven friends and enjoyed a thoroughly relaxing weekend together. The location is truly beautiful and tranquil. The property itself is very well presented and the lovely semi open plan arrangement of the rooms downstairs provides a great sociable space for a group. We would highly recommend it- a wonderful find!
Customer 74 (April 2010)

Absolutely wonderful cottage. Beautifully furnished, lovely bedrooms and great location. We were made to feel very welcome. Would thoroughly recommend this property.
Customer 75 (November 2009)

The property is extremely spacious and well furnished to a very high standard, ideal for a family get together.
Customer 76 (Aug 2009)

The property has a lovely aspect with 360 degree views plus the bonus of overlooking the Chelmarsh reservoir. Accommodation is superb for 12 adults because of the six en-suites. The open plan kitchen and living area means you can all be together for group activities. Have already re-booked for 2010.
Customer 77 (June 2009)

A beautiful property with absolutely everything provided - all of high quality and generous sized rooms. We had a brilliant week much enjoyed by the 12 retired Guiders attending the National Trefoil (Girl guiding) AGM and were delighted that this year’s venue was in such an attractive part of the country - giving us a chance to have an enjoyable week’s holiday after the AGM was over.
Customer 78 (June 2009)

The property and location great for anyone seeking a large family get together in a quiet tranquil location. Would return again so that says it all.
Customer 79 (March 2009)

An excellent venue for family celebrations, both the property and location were fantastic.
Customer 80 (March 2009)

Excellent property for our three families to get together. Terrific location and a very warm welcome from the owner.
Customer 81 (February 2009)

Kingfisher Cottage is excellent in every way. The pictures do not do it justice and it is much larger than I expected. I will be back at some point in the future!
Customer 82 (January 2009)

Excellent accommodation in a lovely area. Very helpful and friendly owners.
Customer 83 (December 2008)

Excellent for a big family get-together. Open plan design enabled everyone to be together, whether cooking, relaxing or just chatting. Spacious en-suite bedrooms gave much valued privacy. Views are beautiful, outside dining on the patio was ideal for such a lovely weekend. Our 80 year old was thrilled to bits with her birthday!
Customer 84 (September 2008)

Fabulous house, fabulous views, fabulous holiday!
