This cottage is simple but clean and comfortable and has everything we needed. The location is perfect for walks, riding, caernarfon and anglesey. Friendly, helpful owner. We had a very pleasant stay. Carolyn from Northants (04 August 2017)
Well situated for exploring the area - very peaceful location Carol from Rainham (14 July 2017)
Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. . found it unusual to have to pay extra for electricity - made us reluctant to put on the heating etc. . would not put me off booking again as the benefits outweighed this. Kath (30 June 2017)
Very nice cottage, banged heads a few times on entrance to living room. Apart from that lovely cottage definately stay here again Victor from High Wycombe (19 May 2017)
Cost of heating was stunning. The cottage needs off peak electric heating. no wonder that electric was extra. Other wise a pleasant place to holiday John from Leighton Buzzard (12 May 2017)
Very nice cottage only down side very low pressure on water for showers etc and electric very pricey for a week Customer 6 (14 April 2017)
The cottage was comfy and secluded which was exactly what we wanted, however, the vast amount of cobwebs and in the slugs that greeted us in the mornings were not. . the shower tho hot was seriously lacking pressure and was more like the babbling brooke outside the house. Francis from London (28 October 2016)
We had a great time whilst staying at hendy but we cannot mark any higher for the local amenities as the property was situated as such that there was only a local pub nearby but no shops, but ideally suited for the holiday we wanted. Raymond from Folkestone (21 October 2016)
There is a good pub serving good food all day within 10 minutes walk. Excellent beers camra rated. Michael from Bristol (07 October 2016)
We over the years have spent a lot of holidays in cottages, and this cottage rates very high on our list.the cottage stands amongst wonderfull scenery been in the heart of the snowden mountain range, the cottage was typical welch cottage set in lovely farm land and very comfortable and warm and very private .the owner anne was a wonderfull mine host been very friendly and helpful and leaving us to our privacy but always available to help.we would most certainly use this cottage again. Brian from Northallerton (16 September 2016)
Lovely cottage and we were made very welcome. Has all you need! Amanda from Seaton Sluice (04 September 2016)
House felt damp and cold which we would not expect for time of year. Had to pay extra for electricity. Heating was electric heaters and would of cost a lot of money to heat house and we felt we had paid enough already, so didn't want huge bill at the end of the week. Shower upstairs in main house was really poor. These issues are not things that you want to deal with on holiday it should be a comfortable stay and a treat from the norm. David from Saffron Walden (12 August 2016)
Had an amazing stay, the cottage was lovely, amazing views, brilliant location and the owners where lovely, left you to it but there if you needed anything, highly recommend and will be definetely returning Erin from Accrington (24 June 2016)
We stayed at hendy cottage for a week in may. the cottage was far nicer than the photos on the web site, it was very clean and well equipped and had a lot of character. the location was very quiet and peaceful and perfect for exploring north wales. there is a local pub about 10 minutes walk away where you can get good food at a reasonable price. the owners of the cottage were very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely return to this charming cottage and the tranquil setting again Trudy from Isle Of Wight (27 May 2016)
Beautiful cottage. As it is a very old stone building it takes a little while for the heating to warm it up enough and be at a level that is easily maintained. Knowing this the owners do provide the loveliest fluffy blankets to snuggle up in which was great and my entire family took a liking to them. . . I especially loved the bathroom and had a good giggle about being a bit disoriented when I got out of the bath due to the old wobbly floor. . my 3 year old loved the little games room and hubby and I enjoyed a few games of snooker and a bottle of wine when the kids went to bed. . my big tips for this house.. blast the heating when you get there then put it on a timer once it's at a comfortable temperature. I had the lounge radiator on in the morning from 7am-10am then again from 3pm-9pm. I had the bedroom heaters on from 6am-8am and then again from 7pm-10pm. I put the kitchen one on manually around an hour before we were going to be preparing meals. Bring a nightlight if your kids are afraid of the dark. We ended up leaving bathroom light on for our 3 year old son at night as, being away from civilisation, the house is pitch black once the lights go out. . being a welsh country girl at heart I loved this house and it reminded me of growing up in the old stone cottages in deiniolen. It made me feel homesick and reignited my want of returning home to gwynedd. It is high up on my list of cottages to return to and anna (the owner) is very kind and friendly. . it is in a great location for exploring nearby caernarfon, anglesey, bangor, llanberis, snowdon and conwy. . . big thumbs up from us. Lynne from Bicester (13 November 2015)
We enjoyed staying in hendy and even though the weather was very mixed, we had a good time. The cottage was in a good position to get out and about to all we wanted to see and do. It was well appointed, clean and full of character. The owners were friendly and helpful and i'd definately recommend it to friends! Lindy from Rodmell, Lewes (28 August 2015)
A wonderful holiday with australian family. we all loved the quirky cottage. the owners were very friendly and helpful. it was ideally situated for seeing all the local sights. the cottage had everything we needed and the annexe room was ideal for the younger couple in our party, having its own en-suite and tea making facilities. the living area of the main cottage is a delight and ideal for evenings in. Ruth from Retford (17 July 2015)
Excelent place to holiday, the owner made us very welcome. Alan from Stalybridge (29 May 2015)
Trying to find the cottage was very difficult as we were not given full details on any of the booking confirmation. The owner however was very kind to give us verbal directions and we eventually arrived safe and sound! the tip about looking for lots of wheelie bins was helpful. . the owner was very friendly and welcoming on our arrival and explained about the noises the water pump makes, how to heat the water and that we would need to take an electric meter reading at the beginning and end of our stay to pay the rates. The cottage is very cold and also expect wonky floors and very low ceilings. Everything is powered by electric so expensive to heat and cook. Make sure you bring jumpers and blankets to keep warm. . the outdoor bbq space was great but the downside was there were only 4 chairs for the plastic table. There are two benches but there are nowhere near the table area. . . location of the cottage was good, a few minutes away from caernarfon and 20 mins from snowden. . . a big downside for us was the shower in the cottage, it was appalling..a luke warm drip!! the whole bathroom is on a slant as well so that took some getting used to. On the upside the annexe shower was powerful. . the sofas in the living room are extremely uncomfortable so our hopes of sitting round the fire in the evenings and chatting about our day wasn't great as we all ended up with back pain. I should note that there is only room for 5 people on sofas. There are two dining room chairs placed next the fire which we took it in turns to sit on. Rebecca from Swansea (22 May 2015)
Great location to explore snowdonia and north wales. the owner was friendly and helpful. Beautiful views from the kitchen window!. kids loved the xbox and games room and the enclosed space around property meant the dog could wander (although we did have friendly 'visitors' (owners dogs) on a couple of occasions!). shame there is no phone service or wi-fi but the local pub had free wifi as well as pool and darts. Our rating would have been higher but the electricity meter was quite pricey - £76 for one week, and we only had the heating on in the evenings. Jodie from Northamptonshire (17 April 2015)
Great place, secluded but in easy reach of lots of activities. Could do with wi-fi but was also nice to be cut off from everyday life. if you are over 5'6" you will learn to duck!!!! Matt from Northampton (31 October 2014)
Brilliant Allan from Shamhering (03 October 2014)
A lovely cottage well presented and well equipped. only two things would make it better the first being there was no phone or internet access and for most networks there was no mobile phone signal, therefore if there was an emergency getting hold of help would be difficult. Wi-fi would also be useful for looking up the latest information about places of interest. The second thing which we would have liked was the ability to use only certain lights in the lounge/dining area instead of having to light the whole area, perhaps some table lights or standard lights would help. I would also like to add that the owner was very pleasant and helpful. Julie from Bideford, Devon (12 September 2014)
Very nice cottage in a good location, only criticism is the water/heating system not being powerful enough for the property. Adrian from Winchester (29 August 2014)
Great location to 'get away from it all'. beautiful cottage and surroundings. Very friendly owners who provided information when required. Kids loved the pool table, stream and surrounding farm. Good base for exploring snowdonia and not too far for beach either. Nicola from Coventry (15 August 2014)
Lovely cottage, great location, very comfortable.grandchildren loved it.hope to return again soon. Michael from Norwich (18 July 2014)
The cottage is ideally located in a quiet village and is ideal for families. All heating, lighting, cooking etc are electric and it's a little expensive. We enjoyed and would stay there again if we were to holiday in that area Confirmed Purchaser from Cardiff (09 May 2014)
A fantastic well equipped cottage in a lovely part of wales, we had a lovely holiday. there is a down side though and that is the heating, i'm sure that during the summer its fine but the electric storage heaters were inadequate for february. if the cottage was equipped with an actual wood burning stove not the fake electric one it would be fantastic and definitely 10 out of 10. also note there is a charge for the electric you use and for a week in february it was £60+. David from Durham (21 February 2014)
The cottage lacked adequate heating and we were dependent on completely inadequate electric heaters charged at 14p (!) per unit. Our sink blocked and electrical equipment failed to operate properly. When power failed completely we were without water supply and were forced to abandon our holiday. So disappointing as this could be a great place to stay and the owners very keen to make up for the deficiencies and were good enough to bring us an additional heater plus extra bedding. I would not recommend until the heating issue was addressed. Alison from Stamford (28 December 2013)
The owner greeted us on arrival and gave us a tour of the facilities and made sure we had all we needed. The layout works extremely well for a large group or as in our case 3 generations with the annex providing a retreat for the grandparents! . outside the garden was secluded and quiet, with parking for at least 2 cars. The cottage is surrounded by farmland which is safe and available for everyone to explore ( usually accompanied by the farm dogs who love to play)). the kids loved it. A wonderful place to relax without mobile phones with the only sound being sheep, bird song and occasional train whistles from the welsh highland railway in the valley belowm. If you want a quiet retreat holiday then choose hendy. It is wonderful. Peter from Wells Somerset (23 August 2013)
Greatl location enjoyed our stay. Derek from Northampton (24 May 2013)
The cottage was stunning, full of character and olde world charm. It was so well equipped, you could live there permanently. Lovely location on a working sheep farm. Anna and gareth the owners were so kind and helpful, we certainly recommend this beautiful cottage to families, friends and couples. Christine from Wallasey, Wirral (10 May 2013)
