The house is huge (and we very much appreciated having two dishwashers). the pool and grounds are just perfect!
James from Maidenhead (28 July 2017)

An amazing place!it has everything you could possibly need in a comfortable place to stay with a big family. The kids loved the swimming pool and the adults enjoyed the hot tub even on cool nights. Very spacious and good sleeping arrangements. Would love to visit again.
Rita from Loughborough (21 July 2017)

Fantastic property, 17 of us stayed here for an 18th birthday celebration. Ages ranging from 3.5 to 75 years old. We booked this property because it had a swimming pool and hot tub. It did not disappoint. We all had a great time. The house is very large with plenty of space, x3 sitting rooms, large dining room, large kitchen with aga. Lots of crockery and cutlery provided, plus 2 dishwashers. Garden is very well maintained and massive. Swimming pool is lovely and warm with sauna and shower room/toilet. Thoroughly enjoyed by all. Hot tub is just outside the swimming pool and perfectly compliments this property. We had a fantastic weekend and would love to revisit, I have no hesitation in recommending this property for a large family get together, there is no need to leave the property, just chill and relax , enjoying all the property has to offer. Plenty of parking too.
Samantha from Sleaford (03 July 2017)

A lovely place to stay. The grounds are fabulous and the children loved the pool!. the ovens and some of the cooking equipment could have been cleaner, but that's just a small thing, on the whole it was a perfect place for a large family get-away.
Claire from Newmarket (19 June 2017)

14 friends and family had a fabulous weekend. This included a wheelchair user. Garden absolutely lovely. We enjoyed pool and hot tub and sitting in the garden enjoying each other's company. Kitchen well equipped and hooray for the 2 dishwashers !
Christina from London (12 June 2017)

This house has a magnificent garden area and the best leisure facilities anybody could expect. The house is plenty big enough for the 18 beds with its 9 double bedrooms. If there was a criticism it is that it is a bit isolated from the best n and w norfolk venues. Is that a problem? we had 9 kids between 6 and 13 and they would have been happy to stay on site all week.
Ray from Nottingham (02 June 2017)

We had a fantastic time at hall farm. It was exactly what we wanted. The house was fantastic and the garden wonderful. Would definitely recommend!
Jennifer from Ipswich (08 May 2017)

A really fabulous place for a family celebration, owner could not have been more helpful. We all had a super time. Garden, pool, hot tub & sauna especially enjoyed. Thank you.
Elsa from Great Ayton, North Yorkshire (21 April 2017)

Great place for a group break. Very homely and the hot tub, sauna and pool are amazing!
Todd (20 March 2017)

We were a party of 18 family members from 5 to 70. The house offered everything we wanted and needed. The house was large enough for groups and individuals to be free to do what they wanted when they wanted without impediment. The kitchen and dining room provided a hub but there was no shortage of nooks and crannies. The kids loved the enormous garden to explore and let off steam, the more energetic adults found a variety of routes to get out for a run, and local walks were in abundance. The house and pool were well heated, clean and well maintained. Wifi worked at a basic level but the absence of folk glued to phones and tablets was a boon - and no one missed them!
David from Mapperley (17 February 2017)

Hall farm was the perfect setting for our group get together with friends of all ages. The rooms were all a good size and comfortable, everything that you need is there. The kitchen is warm and inviting, a great place to cook. We enjoyed board games, the pool, table tennis, hot tub and sauna. . the only addition could be a darts board!
Elizabeth from Herts (13 February 2017)

Excellent large 8 bedroom house with 3 separate lounges, large dining room and kitchen meant that our party of 18 had plenty of space to spread out. Fantastic swimming pool and hot tub set in large garden was a real treat. The house is very well equipped with plenty of crockery, cutlery and kitchen items. Bedroom and bathroom ratio is quite good with 3 rooms ensuite and plenty of connecting rooms to suit all family requirements. Would definitely return when the opportunity arises.
Clare from Bedfordshire (12 December 2016)

A real home from home for a family gathering. The swimming pool, hot tub and games room provided entertainment for everyone from 3-70! a fantastic weekend away.
Chris from Fressingfield (28 November 2016)

Nice place getting slightly run down in places
Confirmed Guest (14 November 2016)

This was our third visit to hall farm, with a party of 16 (ages 17 to 84 )+ dog. . the house is wonderful with a well equipped kitchen and facilities to keep everyone entertained. The pool and hot tub are just spectacular. Many a night was spent in the hot tub watching the sun go down. And the table tennis tournaments went on into the early hours. We would love to come back again!. we had a small issue with a bleeping smoke alarm (battery needed replacing), the owner was phoned and she arrived promptly to rectify it! couldn't ask for more!
Laura from London (28 October 2016)

Perfect place for a family get together! with an age range of 12-75, we all found it a lovely place to relax. Everyone loved the pool, sauna and jacuzzi, that completely topped the holiday off! couldn't imagine a better place to bring the family together, we're looking at booking it again next year for my 19th birthday :)
Meg from Leicester (21 October 2016)

We as a family of 18 had a wonderful few days. The venue was ideal with a big family it had lots of room so everyone could have their own space. The pool, sauna and hot tub were amazing it was a joy to see our great grandchildren in the pool for the first time. The grounds were ideal for playing games, what can we say other than it was great we really had real family time.
Margaret from Crawley West Sussex (05 September 2016)

Hall farm provided the perfect venue for our family reunion. The house may have seen better days but that actually added to its charm, and it was very clean and brilliantly laid out for our extended family to join together but also to find our own space. The gardens were marvellous with plenty of room for many sports, e.g. Croquet, a boules tour, badminton, volleyball and a treasure hunt for the youngsters. Joining fields perfect for football, tag rugby and golf. We will certainly return to hall farm because we cannot imagine a better place for our family. It was our family home for a week!
Steve from Kingston Upon Thames (02 September 2016)

Superbly well-equipped for a family holiday (swimming, games, space). very pleasant people. interesting area - but not much temptation to leave hall farm!
Richard from Woking (26 August 2016)

Hall farm was the perfect place for our family of 21 to have a summer holiday together. The old farm house is full of atmosphere yet has all the conveniences that you need. The garden is superb with an excellent swimming pool at its centre, a large "games" lawn and many other areas to explore and hide away in. There are a lot of things to do in the local area - 5 golf courses within 10 miles, beaches within 30 minutes drive, castles, gardens etc - but, to be honest, we spent most of the time enjoying the garden and each other.
Tony from Sleaford, Lincolnshire (22 July 2016)

Loved it - beautiful pool and hot tub and delicious home made cake on arrival. . every utensil was provided and great standards. . definitely would return
Confirmed Guest (11 July 2016)

We had a great time at hall farm. Really enjoyed the pool, sauna and hot tub. Lovely grounds with beautiful gardens. We were lucky with the weather so were able to enjoy it all. Kitchen worked well for us and the dining table was perfect for us all to sit round and eat, drink, talk.
Christina from London (06 June 2016)

Fantastic home and grounds, perfect for a large group. We had a wonderful weekend at this beautiful place. Thank you. S x
Confirmed Guest (09 May 2016)

We all had a nice time, but there were a couple of things: . the pool, sauna, hot tub fab, but house was a little tired. The house was very cold on the first night due to lack of heating!. it was a shame we had to share our food with vermin!!. a guard would be recommended for the sauna as a guest burnt herself!! . would be nice to have hand soap supplied in the toilets. Thank you
Maguire from Ipswich (14 March 2016)

The second time we've been and not disappointed. a comfortable, homely, albeit huge house. very well equipped. fabulous facilities. the pool and hot tub are fantastic - kept both adults and children entertained for hours. . the owner is so friendly, and quick to act if things go wrong.even on christmas eve!!!!
Debra from Cambridge (28 December 2015)

Highly recommended. a great property - the large kitchen and dining room were great communal spaces. the pool and hot tub were excellent additions.
Richard from Sheffield (23 November 2015)

Wonderful house and ideal for our family celebration. Fitted all our descendants who loved cooking and the ping pong and the hot tub as well as the pool. Elegant without being faux luxurious and with bonuses like a pantry and good fires. Wonderful walk on the nnorfolk coast with birds and seals.
David from Stanhope (02 November 2015)

Lovely setting for a big group break. Pool area was lovely but need dressing gown and flip flops as it is a walk from the house. The house just needed a bit of tlc and floor covering. Overall a great party house and the owners were lovely
Christy from Doncaster (11 October 2015)

A very well equipped property in a beautiful tranquil location. Great place for a group to go and plenty of room for everyone.
Marianne from Potters Bar (28 September 2015)

Had a great stay
Adam from Milton Keynes (18 September 2015)

Hall farm was lovely, the leisure suite and games room was fantastic for the children especially as we got mixed weather and it kept them entertained, the pool area was clean and well maintained. The house it's self was nice but a little bit tired in places, one of the two electric hob needs fixed or replaced (although there is the aga also)but we had 17 in our party so we could have done with both fully functional. . . we were greeted with a lovely home baked cake which was a really nice touch. On the whole I great place and would definitely recommend to larger parties.
Caroline from Birmingham (28 August 2015)

This is an outstanding venue for an extended family experience, it deservedly scores a maximum score on all counts with the exception of equipment and the only reason for this is that only two of the bedrooms had en-suites - we did not see this as a disadvantage and really this should not be seen as a negative as there are so many toilets and bathrooms. . the owners are to be commended for their warmth and welcome and for maintaining the historical and original features of the house and the beautiful surprise cake they baked. The atmosphere and ambience of the house and gardens is amazing and offers so much space that even with seventeen of us we could lose each other! this is a place where those of all ages can relax and feel truly at home. Every hour spent here is worth two anywhere else. . . please do not be put off by any negative comments from other reviews about hall farm, they do not reflect the property as it is now.
Mike from West Yorkshire (15 June 2015)

Great location excellent pool fantastic gardens great house and amenities
Jeff from Southend On Sea (29 May 2015)

Owner very welcoming- especially enjoyed the chocolate cake! beautiful house and pool and hot tub excellent tho a shallow end would have been safer for our 2 year old well provided with games etc and delightful garden perhaps rather expensive
Pat from Ilkley (10 April 2015)

This was our 2nd visit to this property so new what we were getting. . I was disappointed with the need for ourselves to replace 5 of the light bulbs in the kitchen on the first day! as well as the fact that shower heads in the bathroom and swimming pool leaked so badly you could hardly use them... overall the property is great for large family get togethers etc but a little bit of tlc / £ should be spent on the decor . will we book again tho probably
John from London (03 April 2015)

All our family had a wonderful long weekend at hall farm to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary. We ranged from aged 87 to our great grandaughter who is five months old. Everyone had a great time, enjoying the pool, sauna and jacuzzi + the games room. The grounds are beautiful very spacious. . the kitchen was so well equipped for so many people a good gathering place. all our family sitting round the huge table in the dining room with all the candelabras full of lighted candles was amazing future visitors don't forget to take plenty of candles with you. . one of my sons loved to be in charge of lighting the log fire in the main lounge, having three was useful for so many people. . the bedrooms were very spacious and everyone said their beds were very comfortable. . a lovely gesture by mrs essi, the owner was to make us a gorgeous chocolate cake as it was our special anniversary, so kind of her. . . it is a weekend that we will remember for ever.
Joan from Rainham, Kent (23 March 2015)

Hall farm is stunning. The perfect location for a birthday gathering. We went for a surprise 30th and it was amazing. The pool and hot tub are a great asset which were enjoyed by everyone. The rooms are clean and spacious. My only feedback would be that for our party more double bedrooms would've been good, but can understand that not everyone travels as couples. . I would recommend hall farm to absolutely anyone. The booking was easy and the lady who owns hall farm was so helpful and friendly. We will be back. Gemma xx
Gemma from Hertfordshire (09 March 2015)

We were celebrating a 50th birthday and all the family (18 of us) were going to be spending the weekend at hall farm! what a delight it was, beautiful accommodation, fantastic amenities. we all thoroughly enjoyed it!
Rajnika from London (02 March 2015)

A group of hockey ladies on a team bonding weekend and we were not disappointed. The pool, hot tub, sauna, games room all exceeded our expectations. It was a perfect weekend. The old house was cosy comfy and warm. The walls were thick enough that if someone went to bed they weren't woken by noisy games from downstairs. It was amazing and we will look to return.
Angi from Bucks (23 February 2015)

We all thoroughly enjoyed ou stay. the house is well equipped. Would definitely return. The children were sad to leave the pool!
Angela from Norwich (20 February 2015)

A fantastic and beautiful property, ideal to celebrate with a group of friends. Pool, hot tub and games rooms are an added treat.
Julie from Hertfordshire (09 February 2015)

A fantastic venue. thank you!
Jens from Cambridge (01 February 2015)

Fantastic property - we had a big group and were all delighted with the house. Pool and hot tube area is perfect
Jg from London (26 January 2015)

A large and interesting house, with a lived in feel that meant everyone could relax, and be just like home. The pool, hot tub complex with sauna proved very popular!
Bob from Coggeshall Essex (04 January 2015)

We really enjoyed our time at hall farm, it is incredibly spacious, has great facilities and is well equipped. The location is not amazing as you aren't that lose to things but we had a nice walk and there is so much to do at the house that it doesn't matter that much. Our main issue was that it never felt that cosy, apart from in the pool and sauna! but it is so large that heating the whole house to a 'cosy' temperature would be challenging. Other than that it's a super property for a large group, it was our group's second visit and we'd stay again.
Pippa from London (15 December 2014)

Brilliant stay over the weekend, this place has everything anyone wants - an indoor swimming pool, hot tub, games room, a large garden! there is some wear and tear in places and can do with some updating but seriously can't fault it, excellent value for money.
Vanessa from Norwich (01 December 2014)

We've had a wonderful stay at hall farm. The swimming pool and a hot tub are amazing. I highly recommend it.
Confirmed Purchaser (24 November 2014)

A lovely place to stay for a large party with plenty of space. all ages would love the swimming pool, sauna and hot tub. Child friendly. A rustic comfortable farm. A lovely weekend was had by all. would recommend this to anyone.
Sharon from Southend (17 November 2014)

We enjoyed a family weekend away here and enjoyed staying here. The children loved playing hide and seek. The pool and hot tub were a great treat. Would definitely stay there again.
Hbenoire from Warwickshire (20 October 2014)

We all had a great time at hall farm the pool , hot tub and games room kept all the children and adults very busy and fun was had by all . a great place to stay.
Ron from Canvey Island (01 September 2014)

Fantastic house & facilities for a large party
Lisa from Harpenden (15 August 2014)

The house was perfect, we loved it and didn't want to leave. It has a great ambience and so many rooms that we had great fun working out the geography of the place. The hot tub and pool were fabulous and the garden went on for miles, what a luxury.
Alice from London (30 June 2014)

Amazing weekend for my dad's surprise 60th
Cara from Bishops Stortford (23 June 2014)

Hall farm was just right for us ; a large family gathering with ages ranging from three weeks to 69 years. There was plenty of space for our different needs, peaceful sitting rooms, plenty of games and toys and touches of luxury with the pool, sauna and hot tub. The building was beautiful yet sensibly furnished so that we were not worried about furniture or fittings, well equipped and the garden was completely unexpected as the advertising photos give no idea of the scale of the stunning grounds. They're were lovely villages to walk and ride to on our bikes, great beaches and farms to visit within easy reach and the hare arms nearby were welcoming and efficient. We had a truly wonderful holiday which has given us many happy memories.
Pamela from Canterbury (30 May 2014)

The accommodation, grounds and on site facilities suit people of all ages, grandchildren to grandparents. The location provides an excellent stepping-off point for site seeing. we are hoping to pay a return visit later this year
Tony from Norwich (24 March 2014)

We had the most amazing time at hall farm. the family seemed to fit into every space so quickly. almost as if we had always lived there. the pool area and the hot tub was probably the big highlight for myself and the younger members of the family. sitting outside on a cold december night looking at the stars with hardly any light pollution is a thing I would recommend to anyone.
Fran from Bucks (28 December 2013)

We were staying at hall farm for my sons wedding, which was fabulous the whole weekend was made even better thanks to our stay at the farm house. The pool, the games room and the fabulous open fire made for comfort, fun and laughter the whole time. Everyone was sad to leave on the monday morning. We plan to return x
Pauline from Lincolnshire (16 December 2013)

Perfect holiday cottage for my 50th party, very warm, comfortable, clean. pool, hot tub & sauna wonderful. if I was very picky i'd say hand towels and soap in all bathrooms would've been helpful. also the dining room chairs are a little bit rickety. but all said, we had the most wonderful time at hall farm and didn't want to leave. we really hope to return for a longer break during the summer to appreciate the surroundings and outdoor space more.
Lesley from Dunmow (02 December 2013)

Brilliant relaxing week
Confirmed Purchaser (25 October 2013)

Amazing house, with great facilities!!!
Harry from Tatsfield (14 October 2013)

Lovely building and gardens. swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi are excellent, good size and very clean and well maintained. games room also excellent and provided lots of entertainment. The kitchen was ok, but dishwashers were not very effective and it could have been cleaner, also not enough cleaning products were provided (dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid ran out and we had to buy more). I would also have expected things like hand soap and hand towels in the bathroom to have been provided.
Susan from London (09 September 2013)

This was our second visit to hall farm, we decided to return again having tried a few other places. this is by far the best pool complex we have had, a few teething problems with the new hot tub but dealt with. If you want a boutique hotel this is not for you, if you want a comfortable clean home with loads of space and beautifully kept grounds you will not be disappointed - as a friends 4 yr old said I want to stay here for ever and ever. from our point of view with a disabled husband (money permitting) it would be lovely if the 3rd sitting room with loo/basin next door was turned into a ground floor bedroom as so many groups seem to have their grandparents with them.
Caroline from Wells Next The Sea (23 August 2013)

We've been here 3 times before - had we always have a great time. Lots of things in the kitchen need updating. Dishwasher and plates dirty. Fridge door not shutting. Sink top need replacing. . tv controls and equipment mostly old. The place need wifi - for free at the price charged. We now see it as no longer value for money. Will look elsewhere next time. . .
Ray from Hinckley (26 Jul 2013)

We came here 3 years ago and enjoyed it. Returning this time there were a few things which could do with being updated. the smokey lounge was still too smokey. one of the dishwashers didn't work. one kettle for 20 people ! the pool is lovely but the place itself needs to have some money spent on it now to be able to charge the fees it does at present and stay in the league in which it is advertised. in these economically challenged times I think people expect more for their money. still lovely though and a great time had by all.
David from Gravesend (12 Jul 2013)

Pool complex superb and garden was in use most of the day. Games room also in full time use so we were glad the house was so private and we did not have to worry about the excessive noise we made celebrating the games tournament. Aga was left on and it was brilliant for cooking for such a large group of 18. Large bbq used every evening. Plenty of spacious and comfortable bedrooms which were not so close that you would be disturbed by others. Its a lovely old house and fun to explore.
Janice from Wymondham (01 Jul 2013)

Over all yes its a lovely place and worked very well for all of us.
Sarah from Bournemouth (24 Jun 2013)

The pool, grounds and the facilities the house has to offer is just simply amazing. Would definitely come every year for a little peace of the quiet countryside and bring the family together.
Sim from London (03 Jun 2013)

The house is lovely and large, comfortable yet not too posh so perfect for children and no worries for parents. It is well equipped, especially in the kitchen, and everything worked well. There was always pleny of hot water and heating was always available if needed. We had a wonderful golden wedding celebration with all our family - ages 5 - 70! we will certainly consider going again.
Mary from Felixstowe (05 May 2013)

Facilities excellent. Space inside the house. Huge garden. Friendly welcome
Richard (24 August 2012)

Beautiful place to stay at with so much character. Pool was excellent but sauna constantly tripped the the power breaker.
Mick from Brighton (10 August 2012)

Fantastic country house. Beautiful, large and well-kept gardens. Excellent swimming pool and sauna.
Len from Bedford (27 July 2012)

Great place want to go again!!. pool etc fantastic!!!!. very clean . fantasic gardens. Lovely beds. Lots of room. Dog friendly. Two tvs so no arguments. Lots of extra games etc. Fab for all age groups. Owners very approachable and wre contactable when we had power cut in pool area
John from Glossop (22 June 2012)

Large country house with plenty of room for 18. Good Kitchen and dining room, three lounges, a super indoor swimming pool 10m+ and outside hot tub.Massive garden, beautifully tended. Fantastic for cycling and around 20 mins away from a number of must visit places. Our party of 17 aged 7 to 70 voted it the best location we have been to and we have been to 3 other excellent locations in Devon.
Customer 73 (April 2012)

The house is so spacious, you can lose yourself in it. It is extremely well equipped and the new hand rail on the back stairs was a god-send for the older people. On the constuctive criticism side, may I suggest that the thermostat on the sauna be repaired as it was difficult to control the temperature and, having one day of heavy rain, a row of hooks in the entrance hall for wet coats would be useful. We are already planning a return visit for next year and would highly recommend Hall Farm to anyone contemplating a "large group or family" holiday.
Customer 74 (March 2012)

A beautiful quirky Georgian House with loads of character. Has been refurbished quite simply but perfect for groups of friends or young families. Very well equipped kitchen, fantastic grounds, pool and sauna. Hot tub on Sunday morning was a great luxury on a great autumn day. Small criticisms would be a lack of one large room with sofas to accommodate the number who can sleep here. The bathrooms are also a little dated. Overall an excellent house for a large number of people.
Customer 75 (October 2011)

Perfect for a large family gathering including space to cook and eat roast dinner for 18! Very well-equipped, stylish without being at all stuffy. Swimming pool and hot tub were fabulous and appreciated by all, from my 3 year old great nephew to my 90 year old mother. Lovely grounds. It would be nice to have something giving the history of the house as it obviously has one.
Customer 76 (September 2011)

Very well equipped and plenty of glasses, mugs, crockery etc for a party of 18. A lovely warm house and logs were a nice bonus for evening fires in the lounge.
Customer 77 (February 2011)

Lovely house with plenty of room for everyone to be together or to have your own space if required. Grounds, swimming pool & hot tub absolutely perfect.
