A beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Jes from London (27 April 2017)
A very good cottage. Perfect bed linen and towels. Lovely & warm too. Brilliant setting with wonderful riverside walks immediately outside the door. . one comment rather than a criticism: taylor of london cosmetics are provided free in the bathrooms, these are poor made in china items & not becoming of such a lovely english cottage. Philip from Wigtownshire (22 January 2017)
A lovely cottage in the beautiful setting of oxnead hall grounds. Very well equipped and really comfy. Hosts friendly and welcoming. We had a great time. Andy from Westcliff-On-Sea, Essex (02 January 2017)
Our party consisted of myself, my partner, my two children and their partners. . my daughter and her partner arrived first luckily during daylight. Due to work commitments we arrived quite late. The sloping grassy path down to the cottage is a little daunting in the dark. Once inside you are greeted with a warm cozy feeling. We all really enjoyed our stay at the cottage the grounds are stunning. A hamper and welcome card was left for us, a lovely thought. The bedrooms are a bit tight but very comfortable. There is a dishwasher, washing machine and all home comforts. The spiral staircase is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. I would advise doing a shop before you arrive as there is nothing within walking distance for milk etc. . the only issue we had was that on the return from an evening out we found that the heating had stopped working, unfortunately the owners were also out at a party so we had no one to report the problem to. I couldn't find anyone around the following morning either so we were unable to have a shower. . overall we all said we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return sometime. Suzanne from Nottingham (13 November 2016)
This cottage was just the most perfect place for us girls to celebrate a 40th birthday. The cottage and surroundings were, in our opinion, second to none. Valerie from Colchester (30 October 2016)
Fabulous stay in this beautiful cottage. Melanie from Southend (16 October 2016)
Great cottage, great location, superbly equipped. . only negatives were that the bedrooms were a little cramped however we had 2 adults and 2 children so ok for us and it is a small walk from the carpark however this didn't cause us a problem. . . gardens were fantastic as well, a pretty perfect stay! Sheena from Norwich (02 September 2016)
Hall cottage in oxnead hall is fabulous. the setting is amazing, wonderful hall and gardens and a stream with kingfishers flying. my son loved the swing (which i'm sure is meant for weddings but the owners were so lovely did not stop him!). the hall were preparing fro an open gardens day so had a team of gardeners in who were lovely and welcoming and gave even more detail into the history of the hall. the cottage is lovely but it is the setting that is truly amazing. the owners gave us details of local activities on arrival and we really enjoyed the steam railway - in walking distance, less than 0.5mile, which you hail by hand!! and (obviously) the boats on the broads from wroxham. Elisa from Durham (19 August 2016)
Excellent cottage in lovely surroundings Paul from Stevenage (03 July 2016)
My only criticism is we were not told that you cannot park outside the cottage and had to carry cases down a grassy slope which when wet would not be much fun. We had a super time and the gardens are fabulous. Patricia from Cannock (10 June 2016)
Superb location, the grounds make you want to return to the property at the end of your days out Nick from Stafford (13 May 2016)
Fantastic location. Bedrooms a bit tight on space. Could do with some garden furniture to enjoy the wonderful outside. Very peaceful and characterful cottage, clean and elegant decor, well equipped. A unique gem. Julian from Peterborough (06 May 2016)
We were a family of four and we had a wonderful time at oxnead. the cottage exceeded our expectations. beverley and david had left a hamper with home made scones, jam, honey, bread, wine and milk in the fridge and a welcoming card. everything you would want in the kitchen was available. the bedrooms and bathrooms were immaculate and very comfortable and definitely a five star rating in our opinion. The views from the cottage were breath taking and we would take a stroll round the grounds in the morning and evening admiring the lake, swans, geese, the stunning landscape gardens and the beautiful church behind the cottage. during our stay we hired a picnic boat on the broads, visited sandringham and cromer and had a delicious dinner at the black boy in aylesham and an afternoon shopping in norwich. All in all our stay at the cottage was perfect and would definitely visit again in the future. Kate from Wingrave, Buckinghamshire (02 May 2016)
Excellent location and very comfy, clean and stylish cottage. Sandie from Thorpe Bay (29 April 2016)
Loved the cottage and surroundings. Was a little difficult to physically walk to from the car as only way was across a grassy slope. Coralie from Ipswich (17 April 2016)
Stunning cottage, beautifully furnished with the most amazing views. . on arrival we found a lovely hamper of goodies, the cottage was impeccably clean and had everything you would wish to find. Confirmed Guest (08 April 2016)
Absolutely gorgeous cottage in a beautiful location. Maria from Suffolk (20 March 2016)
Had such a great stay at this beautiful cottage with my friends. Couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay. thank you! Donna from Colchester (13 March 2016)
I stayed here with a couple of friends in february. The cottage is in a great setting and fixtures and furnishings are up to a high standard. Really comfortable and we all said we'd definitely go back there again. . the location is in a good position for exploring the norfolk coast and norwich. . no real negatives at all - there are no curtains downstairs and the bedrooms only have thin, unlined curtains. This wasn't a problem for us as we visited in the winter but if visiting in summer and you're a light sleeper, you may want to take a sleep mask. . . overall, i'd highly recommend Jax from London (28 February 2016)
Best self catering place we have ever stayed at!! Beryl from Harlow (19 February 2016)
Had a wonderful stay at hall cottage! couldn't fault it in anyway! would love to return in the future. . thank you. Lucy from London (07 February 2016)
Can't speak highly enough of this place - just stunning! the cottage is in amazing grounds, very peaceful and picturesque. The interior was just as good - finished to a great standard, and a pleasure to stay in. The kitchen is very well equipped, and we were even welcomed with homemade mince pies, a bottle of bubbles and fresh bread. Beverley was also very welcoming, and we felt right at home. I would suggest you'd need a car to get to/travel around the surrounding area. Jo from London (03 January 2016)
We very much enjoyed our christmas week in this beautifully furnished and well equipped cottage in a peaceful and relaxing setting. good walks around the estate and local area. christmas touches and welcome pack provided by the owner very much appreciated. would happily recommend to others and would like to stay again. Mrs J from Chelmsford (30 December 2015)
Best holiday cottage ever it was far the best cottage we ever visited and owners are very helpful nice remote area Ray from London (22 November 2015)
Lovely owner done a beautiful layout on the dinning table for when we came and also left us a champagne with a card for being the first guests to book the cottage which I found very welcoming and nice of her to do. Would definitely go stay again. Considering new years actually would be lovely to spend it with family where the cottage is located. Beautiful view would definitely recommend.
