We had a fantastic holiday. The children had a great time, lots to do Customer 1 from Colchester (28 July 2017)
Amazing Dave from Huntingdon (14 July 2017)
Another fantastic holiday at gone cockling .. our 3rd visit over 6 years. new bed sheets and possibly new mattress's we think, which were great. also noted a new table top on the table tennis table - great investment. new dishwasher also great. Great owner communication when we were experiencing 'user error' with the new dishwasher :). fantastic weather again. trips to wells, sheringham and cromer - all great. . . couple of areas for improvement .. new cues please for pool table - or recommend people take their own, the existing ones are nearly beyond use on such a lovely table. note that we also take our own table tennis bats and balls - though didn't look at the existing ones, but historically they were in need of replacing (maybe they have been). the new sofa is 'interesting' - i'm not sure it is really an improvement as I think id like there to be a washable/replaceable cover that can be cleaned between stays. But these are really small points .. overall amazing holiday accommodation. Love it and will hope to return. Stacy from Sheffield (02 June 2017)
The road, as always, detracts slightly but we knew this would be so and a warning is shown on the website. It was repaired whilst we were there so not too bad when we left. Victor (12 May 2017)
Definitely staying again, mother-in law had her wish of being able to watch tide go in and out in the comfort of the lounge, really well positioned couldn't get any closer to sea if you tried. Lorraine from Norwich (05 May 2017)
This was our 4th year and will no doubt go back again next year. Terence from Radlett (28 April 2017)
Really great for kids, so many toys and ways to keep young kids busy. Unbeatable location, great facilities in the cottage and great owners who left handwritten welcome note. A very nice stay at a very nice cottage. Nishant from London (17 April 2017)
This was our second trip to gone cockling, we love it! hate the new sofa, needs something more in keeping but I expect we shall go back again! Wendy from Newmarket/Cambridge (14 April 2017)
We had an excellent week at this outstanding property. access is via a very lumpy private lane but that means peace and quiet! Denise from Shelton (07 April 2017)
We had a fantastic holiday. Fantastic location and a well laid out home from home. Well appointed with everything you would need and more. Games room and snooker table an added bonus. Standard of cleanliness was superb. Everyone loved it. Well done to the owners and the cleaners. Yolanda (31 March 2017)
Great holiday location, will be going again. Kevin from Melton Mowbray (23 September 2016)
Great house in lovely location right on the beach. Fabulous views of sea and sunsets from the balcony. Spacious house with bonus of pool and table tennis tables. Loads of parking, pot holed access road so won't bring the aston martin next time. Beach is more shingle than sand here. If you have children the sandier parts of the beach are walkable. Good sofas, nice well equipped kitchen and bathroom. Downsides would be the only double bed and the noisy neighbour. . the mattress is shocking, and the bed linen poor, not even what you might expect in a cheap b&b. adding an amount to the weekly cost wouldn't be noticed and over a year would fund a decent bed and and hotel quality linen. . the neighbour next door runs a refrigerated van overnight which hums and drones away through your brain on those hot sticky nights when you have to open the windows. he also leaves for work very early in the morning. If you are sensitive or have normal hearing best bring ear plugs and a blow up bed. Simon from Leighton Buzzard (16 September 2016)
We loved our stay at gone cockling, it was our first visit to heacham. The location was fantastic, the kids loved being on the beach every day, they did get a bit fed up of the stones toward the end, however it would have been fine if they would only have keep there crocs on! the weather was good to us and the sea was warm, so we had lots of fun body boarding, exploring and splashing in the sea. The house was extremely well equipped, could do with a little clear out in the kitchen so that there is room for food however. There were absolutely tons of toys for the kids to play with which was fantastic. They were all so happy in the house, with the toys, playroom and plenty of room to run around, they did not have chance to get bored when the grown ups fancied a rest from the beach. The balcony is such a great area to have a bbq and watch the sun set with a glass of wine or beer. The access road was as expected and therefore we didn't mind it really, it did get a little tiresome by the last couple of days but there is nothing to be done about it, it is considerably better if you access through heacham end (palm beach holiday park) rather than hunstanton. We definitely look forward to visiting this house again! Christena from Tamworth (02 September 2016)
Amazing property and location, suited our whole family can't wait to return. Susan from Saffron Walden , Essex (12 August 2016)
Lovely house. Everything we needed. Confirmed Guest (05 August 2016)
A brilliantly equipped property including a games room with every toy under the sun suitable for tots to teens. The location was fab with a path leading directly to heacham beach and a ten minute stroll to the bright lights of hunstanton. Lots of people in the guest book moaned about the unmade road and lack of wi-fi, and if the internet and a smooth road make your holiday this probably isn't the property for you. If, however, you love a sea view, wonderful peace and quiet and a perfect position on the beautiful north norfolk coast then you'll love gone cockling. Karen from Ipswich (29 July 2016)
A great place for the family and dogs. Derek from Hastings (10 June 2016)
Lovely location (as long as you remember to drive slowly on the bumpy road!) house is equipped with everything you could need. Children loved the playroom & pool table. Was wonderful to sit & watch the sea everyday even if the weather wasn't very kind to us! would definitely consider staying again. Mel from Milton Keynes (03 June 2016)
A good spot for a family holiday from 5 to 72 we all had a great may day weekend and blessed with good weather as well ,will definitely go there again Sue from Chesterfield (02 May 2016)
We have now stayed 3 years running and find it an ideal place for an extended family break. The owners clearly have an eye on the family and provide a wide range of entertainment. It is not possible to be more convenient for the beach. Ideal for relaxing and watching the tide ' come and go'. Terry from Radlett (29 April 2016)
A really lovely house by the sea with every home comfort you could want and stunning views, even during bad weather! Annette from Essex (01 April 2016)
Location would have been a 10 except for the road getting to property the views were a amazing Ann from Blaby Leicester (23 October 2015)
Had a wonderful time couldn't fault the house at all, great location everything was perfect! Karen from London (16 October 2015)
Brilliant holiday, location superb couldn't ask for more. Linda from Bury St Edmunds (05 October 2015)
Amazing location and a great family home from home. We thoroughly enjoyed our week with grandparents and 7 year old. Lots of thoughtful touches- crabbing buckets and spades, short pool cues, only down side no wifi. We would definitely recommend it! Ruth from Houghton Conquest (11 September 2015)
Most enjoyable holiday. Cottage excellent, especially pool table and table tennis table for both adults and children. only down side, the state of the road. Christine from Leek (04 September 2015)
Wonderful holiday Beryl from Bury St Edmunds (07 August 2015)
I booked this cottage for a short break with 5 mates at the beginning of june. We had a fantastic 4 days and the cottage certainly lived up to the saying "location, location, location!" it enjoys a fantastic position directly in front of the sea wall and the sunsets were marvellous. The accommodation is very spacious and to a very good standard and very well equipped and maintained. Having the majority of the living accommodation on the first floor enables you to take full advantage of the views. The bbq on the balcony and the pool table in the lounge are a big plus! despite the bumpy ride down the track the end result of the journey is to stay in really fantastic cottage! highly recommended for families with children or a bunch of friends! Adey from Norwich (05 June 2015)
Gone cockling - is a super place to holiday especially for children. our family were bowled over with how great the place is despite it being only just over a year since our last visit! the facilities are great; the play room for children is a godsend and the pool table is second to none. the kitchen allows to cook for many .. and we even used the new bbq this year. The walks into hunstaton are what memories are made of. we will all return that is for certain. . some small criticisms - the pool cues could do with updating, the bunk bed sheets were stained so not so pleasant to use (dont get me wrong you could tell that they were clean but the stains were not a great look - not the end of the world, and most of the other sheets were new since last year). Stacy from Sheffield (29 May 2015)
I and my family celebrated my 70th birthday at gone cockling and totally enjoyed the cottage, the views and the area. wonderful. Eileen from Cambridge (08 May 2015)
A first class property in an ideal location. Particularly suited to families and children of all ages. We have already stayed on two consecutive years and booked again for next year. Being so close to the beach, where you can keep an eye on young children from the patio, and within a good level walk from both hunstanton and heacham makes it an ideal location. We have suggested it to many of our friends. Terry from Radlett (01 May 2015)
The house is beautiful and would suit anyone from nought to ninety as there is so much to do, the owners have thought about everyone. It is a prime location right on the beach with great views from any window. There is a lot to do near the location as well. The only down side is the approach to the house ie the road. it is very rough and bumpy. However, all said and done I wouldn't let it put me off going again and the owners had warned us to be fair. Amanda from Epsom Surrey (03 April 2015)
This is a great holiday home. It has a games room in the garage with table tennis and a pool table which was a real bonus. The house could do with wi-fi and the book of details needs updating. It's a perfect location and the beds were comfortable. The road leading to the property is bad but you are made aware of this in the details but don't take a nice car! we had a problem with the shower and they came out to sort it along with the dish washer. Would definitely go back Adam from Milton Keynes (31 October 2014)
Fantastic holiday cottage, perfect location and it had all the necessary equipment and more! will definitely be recommending this property to my family and friends. Sarah from Witchford (19 September 2014)
We stayed there 5 years ago and my grandsons then 8 and 10 really enjoyed it so much so that they always said they would love to return one day. As the holiday had made such an impact we decided to return again this year with their two youngers brothers and they weren't disappointed. . the cottage is very spacious, well equipped and very clean. The amenities for the children if the weather is a little rough are excellent. The area is packed with places to visit and good stroll along the sea front takes you directly into the town centre. Linda from Sheffield (29 August 2014)
Lovely holiday. Everything we needed. Comfortable beds. Indoor play area with toys and tabletennis. Right on the beach for swimming. Tide goes out a long way so you need to time your dip. Beryl from Suffolk (08 August 2014)
We had a great time. Great views, very tranquil. Lots of activities to do in the house, especially for the kids, which is great it it's raining. Pool table was a real bonus. Lee from Milton Keynes (11 July 2014)
Great place out the way of the town with lots to do. Colin from Bromley Kent (20 June 2014)
We had a great time, in a wonderful setting, and were brilliantly served by excellent facilities. Beds were not as we expected, but we reorganised and it was the inconvenience was overcome. Paul from Leighton Buzzard (13 June 2014)
Great place to stay, I could just sit looking out of the windows all week. Book this holiday cottage and you wont be disapointed. John from Leeds (30 May 2014)
We all had a wonderful wonderful time, the accomodation is stunning in location and views. the facilities for children with the downstairs games and balcony and sea literally on the doorstep are fantastic. we had an 18month old and a 4year old and the balcony and beach access were super. very very relaxing holiday. the accomodation is clean and the plates, glasses, pots and pans ( I cooked for grandparents and an aunt aswel as the four of us) are plentiful. the pool table had plenty of use and I have to say my dad, husband and I have all paid to play on far less professional and level tables it really is a great addition. the beds (and cot) are all very comfortable and sheets all freshly pressed clean. the furnitire in general though very comfortable may be cosidered a little tired/worn. we will be back next year, which I think speaks for itself in terms of reccomendations! Stacy from Sheffield (25 April 2014)
Great place to holiday. No wifi made for a very family centred holiday :-). Sue from Sutcliffe (18 April 2014)
All round excellent Zena from Norwich (18 October 2013)
Lovely holiday home have stayed there before and would stay again. Melanie from Billericay (30 September 2013)
Excellent accommodation and views Ann from Spalding (23 August 2013)
Overlooking the beach from one aspect, countryside at the back. Lovely balcony to watch sunset from. attractive décor. Well equipped in all departments, including games room, lots of children's toys, table tennis stuff, pool table. Flat screen tv. Fridge & freezer. Washing up machine, washing machine, the lot. hot water there automatically, didn't have to grapple with the boiler. bathing & toilet facilities on both floors. stair safety very good for small children -- gate, plus blocking ropes to stop them climbing on (or falling off!) landing bannister rails. High chair provided (neatly stashed in a wardrobe). lots of info leaflets about the area provided. everything so well thought out -- you felt the owners were people who'd been there, done that, and bought several t-shirts. Dorothy from London (08 Jul 2013)
Excellent location and views combined with spacious and well cared for accommodation. Paul from Ashby (21 Jun 2013)
Brilliant house, something for all the family. Laura from Bedfordshire (31 May 2013)
Location on the beach was the best point, although the table tennis and pool table were very handy also. Overall gone cockling was clean, well fitted and great location. Billy from Winnersh, Wokingham. (01 October 2012)
Friendly, helpful owners. Continual improvement of property. Very well equipped with crockery, cutlery etc inc excellent, decent bed linen; range of toys;garage as games room extra bonus; always something interesting to watch from french windows & balcony Customer 50 from Sudbury (14 September 2012)
Three generations from 17 to 85 plus a dog, it had something for everyone. Even with the weather not being perfect. This just made the sea more interesting to look at. The only problem was we were not there long enough to do everything that can be done. Customer 51 (July 2012)
Excellent location. Very well equipped with added bonus of lots of toys. Superb views. Confirmed Purchaser (22 June 2012)
Well equipped in an excellent location. Added bonus of lots of toys for the children which were not mentioned in the brochure. Customer 53 (June 2012)
This accommodation and location is brilliant! The owners have thought of everything, anyone who could find fault must have very unrealistic expectations. In recent years we have rented a number of properties in the area and this is by far the best for a family break away. The icing on the cake would have been wi-fi, but hey we can get through a week without it! Customer 54 (May 2012)
Excellent accommodation for all ages. Ideal if you love the sea and beach in all weathers. Brilliant for watching wading birds Would be happy here at any time of the year. Have to climb stairs to get in and out of the property and steps to the beach but there is an excellent wide walk way or running or cycling area all the way to Hunstanton. Very dog friendly with enclosed garden. Customer 55 (September 2011)
Fantastic location with the beach just over the sea wall, very comfortable, clean and well equipped, huge downstairs basement with table tennis table, ample parking, very friendly communication with owners, all in all an excellent holiday. We expect to return. Customer 56 (August 2011)
Superbly equipped house. Lovely position on promenade, easy walking to Heacham and Hunstanton. Customer 57 (June 2011)
A wonderful venue and sunsets to die for! The grandchildren thought they were visiting a toy shop!! Customer 58 (May 2011)
EXCELLENT . Thank you. Customer 59 (May 2011)
Lovely property overlooking the sea and right next to the beach. Customer 60 (October 2010)
The location. Customer 61 (September 2010)
Beds excellent (one of the most important things of all) firm good quality mattresses. Lovely views of the sea. Very clean. We had warned owners of dog allergy and there was not a suspicion of dogs to be found! First rate indoor play area for all ages of children. Customer 62 (August 2009)
Excellent proximity to the sea. Customer 63 (July 2009)
Gone Cockling was an excellent property, and the owners were very helpful. We didn’t expect the toys to be there and my grandson loved all the little cars and the garage. We had a lovely stay and even though the weather was iffy it did not stop us from going on the beach well wrapped up! Customer 65 (May 2007)
As dog owners, this was a perfect holiday. The property has a large enclosed garden, easy-clean wooden floors, direct access to the very wide empty beach (when the tide’s out) and a convenient garden hose by the door to wash the dog’s feet! As parents of older children the property was also ideal because of the pool and table-tennis tables; and the spacious living areas with three sofas and an armchair for everyone to spread out. We noted also that there were a lot of good quality children’s toys and a stairgate for younger children. Customer 66 (August 2006)
