Another fantastic stay at this cottage. Great for visiting the local attractions and of course as a base for walking. Excellent eateries in rhayader, and plenty of birds to feed on the garden birdfeeders. Nigel from Redcar (17 June 2017)
This is my fourth visit to glan wye and I know it will not be our last. we all feel glan wye is clean and comfortable with plenty of room for us to spread out - just like home from home (but bigger); all the family, four adults and our beloved setter, are happy to arrive and soon feeling very relaxed. . mrs. Lewis is a gem and always happy to help and, of course, her local knowledge is invaluable; robert is the perfect "mr. Fixer". . the local hostelry at the bottom of the hill has the most fantastic food; the town people are very friendly and the elan valley has plenty of pathways to walk and explore. . can't wait for our next visit to glan wye. Elizabeth from Trefnant (27 May 2017)
A quiet, very nice, cosy and homely cottage with all the modern appliances in an excellent location, the views from the garden terrace were beautiful; overlooking the village and nearby hills. . there is only a short walk to get into the nearby village which had a selection of places to eat, drink and shop for groceries; the local butcher was excellent. The surrounding countryside has plenty of walks and wildlife all within easy reach of the cottage. The owner was very friendly, helpful and keen to make sure our stay was an enjoyable one; she also was very interested in any feedback for improvements that could be made to the cottage. Chris from There Is Only A Short Walk To Get Into The Nearby (13 May 2017)
Comfortable, cosy cottage. Nice to come back to after a day out. We mostcertainly would return to this cottage. Ian from Boston, Lincolnshire (01 October 2016)
Great area, lovely cottage, great welsh hospitality. Nick from Barford St. Michael (30 July 2016)
We have stayed at glan wye many times and it never fails to please. It is a typical welsh farmhouse with large rooms and a big log burner in the lounge, and plenty of fuel. . the walks from the door are many and varied. A short ride away, or a good walk are the elan valley reserviors which can keep you entertained all day, with wild life and fishing etc. with many places to eat nearby the triangle inn is within walking distance, it is dog friendly, and the food is excellent. all in all a very pleasant holiday destination for all country lovers. William from St.Asaph. North Wales (02 July 2016)
Excellent venue all the equipment needed for a care free holiday. venue is excellent with outside views par excellent will go again and recommend the cottage highly. Maureen from Highly Shropshire (25 June 2016)
Mrs lewis was an absolute gem, even cooked welsh cakes for us and arrived at the house to welcome us. There could not be anything more done to improve the holiday. . she had attempted to get wi-fi fitted before we arrived but bt let her down. Her son had driven all the way down from newbury to meet bt as arranged. They didn't arrive or even contact him to say why they had not arrived. Ian from Wickford, Essex (07 May 2016)
We had a beautiful christmas ..it was so cosy and homely. The views and location are perfect we didn't want to leave. Can't wait to go back as soon as we can. Confirmed Guest from Can'T Wait To Go Back As Soon As We Can. (28 December 2015)
A lovely stay. Upstairs floorboards a bit creaky.other than that, it was a super place Iain from Salisbury (24 October 2015)
Fantastic location and very comfortable cottage. Appreciated the welcome of home made welsh cakes. As a bird watcher the terrace was wonderful to see numerous garden birds and best of all every afternoon there were dozens of kites soaring overhead Kate from Bournemouth (03 October 2015)
Another happy holiday at glan wye. cottage and welcome excellent for all the family including our four-legged contingent. nothing is too much trouble for mrs. Lewis and robert. in a quiet position overlooking rhayader roof tops yet only a short walk into town where you will find some lovely independent shops. warm welcome in the local pub (even remembered us), hopefully with good vibs. . . good walking, friendly people with a smile and very happy to help and, of course, gigrin farm to watch the red kites. . . don't hesitate, press the "booking" button - I guarantee you will not be sorry. Elizabeth from Trefnant, North Wales (26 September 2015)
Excellent cottage well maintained with every thing you could wish for a comfortable stay.would stay again. The view at the rear is wonderful adding to the cottage advantage. Have stayed at this cottage in the 90,s and the improvements are excellent including the lighting which in the kitchen was strip lights my personal dislike. Recommend a stay Maureen from Bridgnorth (19 September 2015)
Would go again, if your considering booking don't hesitate just book it. Steven from Portsmouth (08 August 2015)
An enjoyable holiday in a very beautiful part of wales. Cottage suitably situated to be able to visit the whole region with little difficulty. Local hostelry, good food, excellent service and nice company. Alan from Ruskington, Sleaford (27 June 2015)
Glan wye is an excellent holiday cottage. The owner met us on arrival and was extremely helpful in explaining where everything was and also provided some delicious welsh cakes. . the weather was superb so we didn't need the heating or the fuel burner. The cottage was well furnished and very comfortable. There was plenty of crockery and cutlery, and the kitchen was well equipped. There is a large patio with great views over the elan valley and rhayader. Red kite and buzzards regularly flew over close by. Other visitors to the garden included woodpecker, great tit and green finch. . the location is a great base to visit mid wales, whether to relax, or to take part in outdoor activities. There are great places to eat in or takeaway in rhayader and nearby, many of which are dog friendly. . as regular visitors to this part of wales we will definitely book this property again in the future. Nigel from Redcar (20 June 2015)
The cottage was in a great location, nice and quiet. It had all the facilities you need. If there was something to be added it would be a wifi connection. Derek from Liverpool (23 May 2015)

Glan wye was an excellent holiday home for us as a family and we all recharged our batteries. if you are looking for a cottage in a quiet area but just a short walk into a town this is for you but be aware that glan wye is situated up a short but steep hill. the elan valley is a beautiful part of mid wales with very friendly/helpful residents. swimming pool in rhayader excellent as was the visit to gigrin farm. Elizabeth from North Wales (06 September 2014)
It was much too dark in the kitchen, quite gloomy. It needs long strip lights in the kitchen and was quite expensive. The microwave is a pain to use. Colin from Cheltenham (30 August 2014)
Could do with a bit of tlc and clearout !. vfm low because booked in august. Mrs lewis was excellent host. Des from Fareham (16 August 2014)
Excellent cottage with all you need for your convenience. Great location for walking. A nice local park for the dogs and a local dog friendly pub serving good food all within half a mile. This is our second visit to glan wye and we are already planing the next. William from St.Asaph. North Wales (14 June 2014)
Position so close to rhayader. Fantastic views. Space in the rooms. Above average equipment and facilities. John from Malvern (23 February 2013)
Very comfy and spacious house with everything necessary for a good weeks break. Customer 24 (June 2012)
Clean, cosy, well equipped and situated in beautiful surroundings. This cottage is a gem. Even after a week of rain we did not want to leave. Customer 25 (April 2012)
This cottage has the most incredible views with Red kites passing by the windows every few minutes. There are walks that can be taken from the doorstep as it is metres from the Wye Valley trail. The bedrooms are big and comfortable, there is a cosy log burner in the front room and it is very well equipped. I would highly recommend. Also you can have fresh eggs whenever you want them from the owners chickens. Customer 26 (February 2012)
Ideal for walkers and explorers of the magnificent scenery. The owner, made sure we were warm and comfortable and her recommendation of the local pub (The Triangle) for meals was absolutely right. Customer 27 (June 2011)
