Garden cottage is such a cosy cottage, with clean and tasteful decor. The bird table attracts a host of bird life and a red squirrel which is a great addition to the wonderful view from the kitchen table. The local area has a vast array of outdoor and cultural activities. Great for families with kids. Thanks too to our attentive hosts. We will be back. Lawrence from Glasgow (21 July 2017)
The stay we had was 1st class from the friendly greeting and helpful advice given on arrival to our leaving after a totally relaxing stay in a fantastic location. Having a pampered existence at home with quality equipment and being a keen cook I found the functionality of the utensils a bit of a challenge but got by. Being a kitchen anorak and enjoying cooking whilst away I cannot criticise. Confirmed Guest (23 June 2017)
This is a lovely cottage in an ideal location. The view from every window is great and it is easy to get to all of the places we wanted to visit from this position. the weather was unbelievably good which enhanced our holiday and made this part of scotland look even better than it does, even on a wet and windy day. The walled garden next to the cottage is going to be magnificent when it is finished but that is an extra anyway. We replaced the tatty old bird feeders which encouraged not only birds but two red squirrels to pay us regular visits. There were a couple of minor niggles with equipment as usually happens in hired property - dishwasher tablet door broken, hook broken on back of bathroom door etc. But nothing that would spoil your enjoyment of this beautiful cottage. We would definitely recommend it. Helen from Liverpool (12 May 2017)
Lovely scenery and views from the cottage could do with upgrading inside though looking a bit tired Michael from Wetherby (17 March 2017)
Good location, good heating & plentiful hot water. Plenty of wildlife coming right up to cottage. The place would have benefitted from a really good clean and a makeover: grubby kitchen floor, bath had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. Smell of damp in bathroom with strip of carpet covering suspect floor. There was no bath mat so this piece of carpet would have been stood on repeatedly by guests and not cleaned. Cobwebs in hall and kitchen. . broken shelves in fridge and a kitchen cupboard. The pictures on website make cottage look cleaner and fresher than it is. Owners seemed friendly and helpful.8 Mr And Mrs R from Tyne &Amp; Wear (24 February 2017)
Perfect long weekend. We would recommend to anyone who fancies a few days in the beautiful scottish countryside. Mike from Peebles (16 January 2017)
Lovely quiet location with shops, restaurants and pubs within walking distance. The owners made us feel really welcome and we had a relaxing break. Perfect! Confirmed Guest (12 December 2016)
Nice place to stay Confirmed Guest (10 November 2016)
Excellent setting, lovely cottage, the birdtable captivated us every morning with a variety of birds and the lovely red squirrels. Loads of places to visit within easy reach highly reccommend Shawn from Barton On Humber (22 October 2016)
A really good week. So much to do in the local area, so much to see and all with the knowledge of a comfortable homely and well equipped cottage to return to each evening. Great location and views - surely the most picturesque view from the 'bathroom' anywhere! John from Manchester (14 October 2016)
A lovely cottage with stunning views. Enclosed garden was great for the dogs. A great base for visiting the many sites and other towns. The only downside is 1 bathroom, an outdoor light would be good as the path is uneven. We would be happy to enjoy another stay in the cottage. Ann from Warrington (26 August 2016)
A beautiful cottage in wonderful surroundings lovely and peaceful but amenities only a short drive away. . we had a lovely time here and would recommend this cottage highly. Heather from Bolton (13 May 2016)
Fantastic cottage in a great location. We have stayed in the area many times and would go back again. Lovely friendly owner. Julie from Welwyn (26 March 2016)
A lovely cottage in a beautiful setting. the cottage was spacious, warm. Had plenty of hot water for showers and baths and the beds clean and comfortable. . the kitchen was well equipped although the knives could do with sharpening!!!. . thanks for helping us have an enjoyable break! Charlotte from Reading (19 February 2016)
Lovely winter views & rural setting with walks from the from door. a huge variety of birds visited every day to the bird table outside the kitchen window. the red squirrel visited us too. however the potholes in the long drive could play havoc with the suspension. the house was kept cosy with the underfloor heating and wood burning stove in the dining room/kitchen. unfortunately the open fire in the sitting room wasn't a success and filled the house with smoke, perhaps the chimney needs swept. Angela from Aberdeen (17 January 2016)
Had a great mini break here, great location for our dog and the cottage is so cosy we stayed in every night :) Bruce from Coylton (14 January 2016)
Lovely cottage in amazing grounds and stunning views. An easy walk to aberfeldy and there are 2 lovely local hotels walking distance. Lovely welcome pack and helpful friendly welcome from anne and her husband Pamela from Aberdeenshire (04 January 2016)
This was our second stay at garden cottage. Both holidays were fantastic. The location is fabulous with aberfeldy right on your doorstep, and great walks and activities within a short drive. The cottage is well equipped and well maintained. The owner, anne, was very helpful too. Michael from County Durham (31 October 2015)

Ali from Norwich (27 June 2015)
Brilliant location and a lovely view from the front door.handy for aberfeldy and local amenities.the house was very comfortable and well equipped.the water for the shower was tepid but other than that we were very satisfied.the owners were very friendly and tolerant of our errant dog.thank goodness the chicken survived! Alan from Castlerock (19 June 2015)
Charming cottage in which we, a family of 5, felt at home right away. Rixt from Deventer (26 February 2015)
Garden cottage is a lovely place to stay. It is very comfortable and spacious. Despite a very cold weekend, the heating made it a cosy place to come back to at night and we enjoyed the real fires. . great fun to explore the 'secret garden' next door and we enjoyed watching all the birds at the feeders from the kitchen window - especially when it snowed! Joanne from Edinburgh (23 February 2015)
Lovely dog friendly cottage with scenic views, we spent our time walking and chilling out in front of the fire. Would love to return in warmer months and do a spot of cycling as it's on ncn 7 and the opportunities to explore by bike are fantastic Gail from Durham City (20 February 2015)
Lovely place amazing views. Julie from Edinburgh (16 February 2015)
Fabulous location and grounds fantastic.spacious and pleasant house and well equipped.fire in living room v smoky so could not use this room as too cold in jan, whi ch was ashame as it's v nice. could not find toilet rolls or tea towels. But these were minor things.overall v,good. Peter (26 January 2015)
Very nice cottage near castle. Very quiet environment, very beautiful. Aberfeldy itself is a quiet small city. Equipment ok and clean. Very friendly people (owners). Wim from Belgium (20 January 2015)
Fab cottage and lovely location. I would say some of the crockery could do with replacing as some were chipped including glassware. A hand blender or potato masher would be a useful addition. Other than that it was great and would definitely go back. Pamela from Aberdeenshire (04 January 2015)
Lovely cottage, well equipped, and in a beautiful location. Lawrence (19 July 2014)
Spacious property in a beautiful location. Close to many villages and towns. Plenty of walking available right from the doorstep. Wi-fi was good. Kitchen well equipped. Highly recommend this cottage. Kirsty from Barrow-In-Furness (03 May 2014)
A perfect place for a perfect stay! Liam from Sheffield (28 February 2014)
We all had a brilliant stay. The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed, plenty hot water, comfortable beds, warm and homely. My favourite spot was by the kitchen window with a cuppa watching the birds feeding and the deer wandering up the path in the morning. Can't think of anything to complain about... well maybe the unbelievably creaky bathroom floor but I can live with that! Wendy from Dunfermline (24 February 2014)
Fantastic location particularly with a dog as there were beautiful walks right from the house. the house is well presented and has a cosy cottage feel. . only downside for us was the fire in the living room which made the room too smoky to use. Isla from Inverness (17 February 2014)
We had a nightmare journey to garden cottage, the car broke down 6 times and after 11 hours we were so relieved that we had a cottage in the grounds of castle menzies, it was so easy to find. It was pitch black when we arrived, but the cottage was so warm and welcoming, it was like we'd arrived home. In the morning it was beautifully sunny and the view was wonderful. Sitting on the window seat in the kitchen, having breakfast and watching the baby birds on the bird table was a perfect start to the day. I cannot tell you how gorgeous this place is. If you like old world charm with all the comforts of a modern home, it is perfect for you. And the owners are exactly the right mix of attention to your needs without intruding on your holiday. The first thing I did on getting home was check to make sure it was free for next year. I can't wait to get back, and take the dog with us next time. A really beautiful home from home. Janet from Clifton (19 October 2013)
The cottage was beautiful, well equipped and very comfortable I have no negative comments at all Dawn from Bridgnorth (05 October 2013)
Location great , wildlife outside the cottage was great every day, quiet & peaceful. Dawn from Aberdeen (29 Jun 2013)
Fantastic views, lovely log fire in lounge and woodburner in kitchen, friendly people Irene from Polmont (21 April 2013)
Excellent location- great for wildlife and ideally placed for perthshire and breadalbane. Great walks locally - especially weem forest walk. . good kitchen facilities, friendly management. Good selection of dvds etc and local info. Ian from Glasgow (13 April 2013)
Mr & mrs ruddy did everything for us and picked us up from the bottom of the drive it was so icy and came back on the sunday because it was almost impossible to walk - they did the extra mile. Fantastic Shirley from Crieff (09 December 2012)
Very well equipped cottage. Even had a basket of toys which my grandchildren loved. beautiful surroundings very quiet and peaceful but plenty to do and see in the surrounding area. The bird table outside the kitchen window attracts a wide varietyof birds. we were well rewarded with a greater spotted woodpecker and red squirrel coming to visit. All in all a great place for a holiday and highly recommended. The cottage owners are very helpful and friendly and welcomed us with a bottle of wine. Sharon from Bonnyrigg (17 November 2012)
Overall we really enjoyed our stay. comfortable, spacious cottage. great views of the castle and the walled garden was fantastic for the kids (aged 1 and 8). don't be put off by previous comments about the bathroom, which has obviously been upgraded since that comment was posted. Louise from Liff, Angus (05 October 2012)
The view! the area is amazing. The castle. The walks. The walled garden to run around. The owners were friendly. The big and comfy sofas. the fires with plenty of wood. The very well equipped kitchen, very spacious. There were millions of toys, knights, very appropriate. The furnishings were simple and uncluttered so could relax without worrying that the children would knock something over. Quiet. Good dishwasher and washing machine, with space to dry clothes inside and out, very useful with the summer we are having. Caroline from Leeds (04 August 2012)
Great location and pleanty of things to do locally. Andy from Stoke-On-Trent (09 June 2012)
