The cottage was lovely very clean and comfortable in a very quiet area owners were very welcoming
Ian from Kent (16 June 2017)

A very welcoming and comfortable cottage.we really enjoyed our stay. Would have liked a shoe rack to put wet shoes and boots and the approach and bin area could do with a tidy up
Michael from Great Ayton (09 June 2017)

Great place to stay with three kids and a dog. ery clean, well equipped, comfy decent beds and bedsing. Welcoming hosts but quite remote and with slightly low ceilings if you're over six feet tall. Would stay again (and learn to duck through doorways).
Richard (27 February 2017)

Had trouble getting heating working properly.
Confirmed Guest (14 October 2016)

Lovely cottage,very comfortable bed
Helen from Suffolk (30 September 2016)

Lovely and peaceful in the country
Confirmed Guest (16 September 2016)

The cottage is very nice very quite village 2 miles to the pub called the pigs food there is quite expensive and menu fussy so not to everyone's taste we had lunch with was nice. some lovely walks straight from the cottage. The outside seating area isn't great as its stoned driveway and doesn't get the sun. The view of the cottage on the website needs updating as its very overgrown now but not in a bad way just not quite as we expected and it's also not as private as it looks as there are a few other barn conversions facing
Michelle from Cumbria (09 September 2016)

Our 3rd stay at flint lodge but disappointed due to the fact nothing seems to have been spent on it in the last 5 years. The dishwasher didn't clean properly with all the cutlery covered in white film and the downstairs bathroom needed a proper clean to get rid of the mildew. There wasn't a hairdryer available with 1 shared between 3 cottages and never available. A lovely location, friendly owners but in need of abit of improvement to bring it up to scratch. The cockerel on the farm also starts crowing from 5am daily without fail which doesn't help a relaxing nights sleep!
Simon from Gainsborough (02 September 2016)

We have stayed in this cottage several times, which shows how much we like it. however it also means we can see things which could perhaps be improved upon. The carpet in the lounge is now stained and the sofas are most uncomfortable - all no doubt due to heavy usage. the bed is extremely comfortable but the bed linen is still the same as our first visit 3/4 years ago. there is ample crockery and cutlery but if fully self catering some smaller sized dishes would also be appreciated. . . the owners are on site and are extremely helpful if there is a problem. this year the dishwasher was not functioning and it was attended to it immediately, and also changed failed lightbulbs when necessary. . the outdoor facilities - table, chairs, bbq are very good.
Janet from Walmer Kent (01 July 2016)

Cottage was nice but needed a good clean, some items need replacing ( kettle, pillows, mugs etc.) very rural, didn`t sleep very well due to farm animals waking us at 5.00am everyday. However we loved our trip to norfolk.
Karen from Sheffield (22 April 2016)

Really disappointed with accommodation, 4 star rating yet found the lodge very tired and in need of good clean. Shower needed deep clean, mildew and mould, toilet seat broken. Crockery/pans etc needed washing before we could use them. Bed linen felt damp and not fresh. Rugs in lounge coated with dog hair (not from our dog!) wish we had read reviews before going, all committed on lack of cleanliness, as were reviews on all accommodation on the same property. Such a shame the location is great and good have been really good.
Confirmed Guest (29 January 2016)

Lovely, peaceful retreat
Clare from Norfolk (02 October 2015)

Flint lodge was an ideal location for us with excellent dog walking from the door. Very cosy and warm. The picture of the cottage on the web site is very out of date and gives the impression that flint lodge is "on it's own" away from other buildings, which it is not. The trees have grown considerably since the photo was taken - a minor point however. If you have a large car, parking can be difficult. Overall however very pleased with our stay and would book again.
Michael from Helston (18 September 2015)

A beautiful place to stay in an idyllic location close to so many places to visit.
Liz from St Neots (14 August 2015)

Lovely spot, nice grounds, friendly owner, good location, quiet, private. Could be cleaner, better maintained, showing signs of wear and tear.
Vicky from Basingstoke (07 August 2015)

Shower was filthy carpets dirty, kitchen implements felt greasy and had to be washed before use. Cockerall woke us up every morning at 3.20 am and went on for two to three houirs crowing. On the plus side, great location, lovely cottage, could have been so much more if clean!! overpriced because of this, for the amount we paid expected it to be perfect, spoiled the holiday somewhat
Dave from Leicester (17 July 2015)

We had a lovely stay. Beautiful grounds and great location.
Clare from Bulphan (10 April 2015)

Pleasant warm cottage in a good location.
Andrew from West Sussex (23 January 2015)

A very cosy cottage, ideal for a relaxed christmas break
Victoria from Rugby (28 December 2014)

Lovely location, just the job for unwinding and dog walking - very cosy and comfortable.
Sue from Bury St Edmunds (12 December 2014)

Lovely place, quiet and secluded, if you arrive in the dark make sure you have a torch. Good size rooms, the wood burner was an added bonus and made the place warm super quick and it was nice to see the wildlife in the mornings. Only downside was a temperamental wi-fi connection but, as I said quiet and secluded lol. We would definitely stay there again.
Wayne from London (01 December 2014)

Second time we have stayed here, great location and well equipped.ideal for us with our black lab, and within easy distance of fantastic coastal walks and sandy beaches. Nearby town of holt was the surprise package for us this time, lots of interesting places for a decent wander.
Paul from St. Albans (24 November 2014)

Flint lodge is a lovely cosy, warm, comfortable cottage, with all mod cons. The owners were very helpful, & the location is super. We really enjoyed our stay, would highly recommend, thank you very much for having us.
Confirmed Purchaser (31 October 2014)

Yust a lovely part of the country
Diane from Lowestoft (19 September 2014)

Cottage was very pretty and had lots of good equipment in the kitchen and around the house - apart from the upstairs bedroom table lamps which do need replacing. . there were a few marks on walls , that could have done with a painting, and the bath mats upstairs had not been washed. . . there is a bathroom upstairs but as it didn't have a shower, we used the downstairs bathroom instead. . I notice that the previous review mentioned about the blocks outside the door to act as steps - we did keel over on them a few times as the pebbles moved when you stood on the blocks. . the owners were very nice to talk to and my children enjoyed fresh eggs from their hens every morning.
Murphy from Huddersfield (08 August 2014)

Very nice cottage, in a lovely location.
Jason from Luton (11 July 2014)

The cottage is perfect for a group of 4, although the lounge furniture could be more comfortable. from the safety viewpoint a proper doorstep at the kitchen door (replacing the wooden blocks currently in situ) and a step at the hall door would make entering and exiting safer.
Janet from Deal (27 June 2014)

A very pleasant cottage which met all our requirements for a quiet get away with our dog, with miles of footpaths in close proximity.
John from Sudbury, Suffolk (09 May 2014)

We were very pleased with our holiday at flint lodge.the cottage was comfortable and well equipped.it was well located for getting about the only drawback was that the pub wasn't in walking distance.
Peter from Leeds (18 April 2014)

I booked the cottage as I was working in the area and my wife decided to come with me. We chose flint cottage as it had a wood burner and she liked the idea of cosy evenings in after I had finished work. Although the cottage is plenty warm enough from its eco heating system the fire gives it that something extra. All the rooms are spotlessly clean and everything about the place has made us think about booking it again for a family break as the location is close enough to the coast and local towns but far enough that when your sitting comfy with a glass or two that you only have to go out if you really want to make a bit of an effort. overall one of the nicest places i've stayed in this country (and I work away most weeks so I see a lot of our countryside).
Phil from Wolverhampton (28 February 2014)

This lodge ticked all the boxes for our christmas stay. under floor heating made it very warm and comfortable. Roomy bedrooms, lots of space. Owners were friendly and very helpful. Would definitely stay again, but like to see countryside in summer next time.
Tracey from Bolsover (28 December 2013)

We had a very warm, comfortable few days here with access to the garden and plenty of accessible walks nearby for our dog. the weather was lovely for november and we had a really enjoyable few days visiting places of interest nearby.
Patricia from Wheathampstead (02 December 2013)

Only 4 proper beds, 5th was a camp bed. Not enough seating in lounge; 2 two-seater sofas don't suit 5 people. Downstairs shower very mouldy.
Rachel from Horsham (01 November 2013)

All that you could want: comfortable; very warm (no need for stove to be lit); all facilities.
Tom from Berwick Upon Tweed (18 October 2013)

The cottage was excellent in itself but the lack of access to good wifi was an issue. It was advertised as available but the signal was weak, speed very slow and at times non existent . all other aspects of the cottage were good
Jenny from London (23 August 2013)

Beautiful place to stay, great surroundings and central for many attractions and places to visit. great beds!
Lee from Near Boston, Lincs (12 April 2013)

Warm welcome of the owners lovely and warm cottage great location and great walks with our dog.pub nearby.great location to visit the sea and the broads.
Michelle from West Midlands (18 January 2013)

Very comfortable. Very relaxing. Very welcoming. Very good as a base to travel out from. Very homely
Sophie from Woodford (07 December 2012)

Lovely owners, great location, good venues within short driving distance and great place to take your dog
Lee from Royston (28 September 2012)

We really could not fault this property, its location was fantastic, only 15 minutes away from Cromer. But there was also lots of walking for us and our dogs from the property. We thought the whole holiday was fantastic.
Customer 40 (September 2012)

Lovely cottage, very well kept, in a fantastic location - in the countryside but within easy distance of many of Norfolk’s attractions.
Customer 41 (August 2011)

Fantasic property, very clean and cosy, would recommend. In the middle of nowhere but only 20 mins away from Cromer (max).
Customer 42 (February 2011)

Very well presented property. All fittings and equipment new and good quality.
Customer 43 (November 2010)

Nice location and facilities, field for kids to run around in animals to look at.
Customer 44 (August 2010)

A beautiful cottage that was superbly stocked with all the little things you need for a week’s (or longer) break. The extra touches on arrival such as tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits were very thoughtful. Very well furnished with comfortable beds and loads of storage. Great location just far enough from the seaside resort to have as much peace and quite as you needed.
Customer 45 (August 2010)

Newly renovated with good facilities.
Customer 46 (June 2010)

The lodge was very tastefull and in a fantastic setting.
Customer 47 (April 2010)

Very comfortable with everything you need for a comfy stay. Location lovely with a feeling that you are away from it all, but close to Holt and other fantastic locations.
Customer 48 (March 2010)

This property was lovely modern clean in lovely grounds, warm, nice kitchen, well equipped.
Customer 49 (December 2009)

Newly refurbished barn, nicely decorated and finished, very modern.
Customer 51 (November 2009)

Location was ideal, well equipped.
Customer 52 (November 2009)

A lovely renovated barn, modern but with character, quite out of the way, but nevertheless quiet and a pretty spot.
Customer 53 (November 2009)

Good amenities, well furnished with a homely neutral feel.
Customer 54 (October 2009)

Relaxing, peaceful location. Great for long walks on bridleways and footpaths. In wi-fi hotspot which was good as neither of our mobiles did.
Customer 55 (September 2009)

As we were the 1st to stay in it, it was really nice and comfortable and had all the essential things you needed in the kitchen etc.
