This was a wonderful base for a fantastic family holiday with four families. Unfortunately the dishwasher wasn't working- which we were informed about and there was no hot water initially (a plumber was out very quickly however.) I would recommend people bringing blackout blinds as the curtains are incredibly thin throughout. . apart from this we had a fantastic week away, in a fantastic property- we loved being able to walk to the beach, into town or to the pier for crabbing so easily. Thank you. Sarah (21 July 2017)
Elwin house was almost perfect. we complained about the dishwasher that broke down on us, but it has now been replaced with a new machine. i'd give 10 stars to elwin house if it had a dryer for clothes. Michelle from London (30 June 2017)
A great place for groups of friends or families. Nicely decorated & comfortable with ample catering equipment. Would happily recommend. Diana from Leek Staffs. (26 June 2017)
Our family, three generations including 6 children with 5 three year olds and below, had a great week. The location of the house was really good and the fine weather enabled all of us to go on the beach each day. The house was generally well-equipped; some things needed a bit of attention and some carpets were a bit grubby for crawling babies , but this did not spoil the holiday. We were grateful for the crabbing nets and the windbreak which we used most days! Carole from Basingstoke (02 June 2017)
Really clean and comfortable house all we needed was ready in the kitchen and even toilet roll provided for arrival . would be nice to have a garden but location is amazing and we really enjoyed it very comfortable for 16 of us Tracy from Canterbury (15 May 2017)
The house was perfect for our large group (9 adults and 10 children/babies). there was plenty of space for us all and it's just minutes from the beach and town. We had a great weekend there and felt very comfortable in the house. It's nicely decorated and very homely, with more than enough crockery, cutlery etc. My only small complaint is that the mattress in our room was very lumpy and needs replacing. Otherwise a really great holiday let at a reasonable price. Louise from London (01 May 2017)
We booked this cottage to celebrate some quality time with our family. It delivered on every level. Claire from Dartford Kent (24 April 2017)
Lovely, elegant victorian house with lots of rooms so there was always a quiet spot to find even with a full house of 18 people (plus baby). we wanted somewhere where all the family could get together to celebrate my father's 90th birthday and this fitted the bill perfectly. the kitchen is well equipped and we were able to cook and sit down 18 people for a christmas dinner and have a party through to the small hours of the morning. Overall the house is very clean and well kept and we would highly recommend elwin house to any large families wishing to get together. Jennie from Swaffham, Norfolk (30 January 2017)
Elwin house is fantastic for a family gathering - location is perfect - beach nearby - plenty of places to eat. House comfortably accommodated our large party - we would hope to come again. Patricia from Benfleet (17 October 2016)
Celebrated diamond wedding with extended family (18 adults in all).very suitable for large party and well equipped to meet all needs. Two sitting rooms each with tv provides alternative for indoor recreation. parking for 6 vehicles at rear of property plus on street parking at front and nearby. good location within easy walking distance of town and most amenities. great time enjoyed by all. Michael from Norwich (27 June 2016)
This is my second time going to elwin house. Disappointed not to get a discount which I didn't know about. If you are returning then phone the owner who will arrange the discount before paying your deposit. The house is well located and most rooms are really lovely and comfortable. It is very close to the station and bus stops so no need for cars. it appeared clean and tidy but the beds need sweeping under. The house has had some painting of walls done since last september which makes it look lighter and cleaner. A few rooms need a lick of paint and more durable fittings. The facilities and kitchen equipment etc are very good for about 14 adults. we had a problem with the dish washer ,which the owner had someone come round to fix ,that very day. the house has a certain charm about it and it was a great venue for a birthday week. I would recommend it for a stay in cromer. Sylvia from London (27 May 2016)
Good location not far into centre of cromer with a lovely view of the sea. Suitable for a large party and well equipped. . only problems were damp walls in some bedrooms and one duvet was too lightweight for the middle of march. . overall our party of 18 had a good time. Malcolm from West Mersea (21 March 2016)
We really enjoyed our stay here. The layout of the rooms worked well for us as we had lots of different couples staying, some with children, some without and we could all spread out. The inside of the property is so much nicer than the outside, don't be put off by the front door or the back access! most of the interior and rooms are very well decorated - just one or two bedrooms that are a bit dated. It's a shame that there are two lounges and that the dining room is quite small as it was a squash to fit 15 adults. However, it would be a shame to alter this as it is in keeping with the period of the property. Katherine from Rumburgh, Suffolk (22 February 2016)
The house was well equipped and in a great location. Decor a bit tired maybe and our bed a bit firm for me! however, we had a great time and would return. Helen from Nottingham (04 January 2016)
This house has excellent potential, but at least three rooms had severe signs of damp - with wet walls and ceilings resulting in soggy wallpaper and ceilings. We had to move out of one of the rooms because it was so bad. The owners were very apologetic when we called them to alert them but I cannot help feeling that this is a result of long-term neglect - the roof guttering needed attention for example, it was misaligned resulting in rainwater pouring down the walls. If this hadn't been a problem our stay would have otherwise been pleasant - well equipped, clean, excellent cooker and comfortable sofas/beds. Alex from Norfolk (14 December 2015)
The house was ideal for our christmas family get together. It had all the facilities our large group needed. Very clean, comfortable and convenient for the town and sights. The owner was very helpful throughout. Heather from East Sussex (07 December 2015)
Generally a good time. Lots of space inside but would have preferred some usable outside space. Grill pan was caked in grease when we arrived, so cleaning protocols may need reviewing. Confirmed Guest (02 October 2015)
A very pleasant holiday house ideal for large parties and families. It is well equipped and has a friendly, homely feel about it. It has been nicely decorated and is very clean. Good showers and bathing facilities. Several games and books and tourist info although a bit out of date. Upper windows do open very wide with potential safety issue and this is a point that has been overlooked and needs attention by the owner, however after some searching we did find 2 window keys so it is possible to lock the windows if you have active children. . on the whole a lovely place to stay and I would recommend it for a good family holiday. Margaret from Sheffield (18 September 2015)
Good for family or large party near to all amenities. Iris from Chard (31 July 2015)
Excellent location with much to do in cromer and north norfolk. parking for 4 cars and house well equipped. Bedrooms bright and clean with comfortable pillows, high quality linen and towels. Games and children's beach toys a bonus. The kitchen was light and very spacious with nice sea view. The central heating was responsive and although a tumble dryer would be welcome i'm not sure where it could be put! Elizabeth from High Wycombe (29 May 2015)
We rented the house for a friends hen weekend. It could not have been more perfect for our base. She absolutely loved being by the sea!! would defiantly recommend and book again! Becca from Peterborough (27 April 2015)
In the main a very good holiday. William from Manchester (10 April 2015)
We had a great time at elwin house which suited our 17 person mixed age group very well. We even managed to get 17 people in the dining room, though it helped that 4 were too small for proper chairs. Jane from Edinburgh (27 March 2015)
Elwin house was used for a stag weekend away with 15 men and we use this as a base. . the house is a great size and all the rooms are different. . there is a big table to sit down and have food on which got us going every morning. . the house also has a couple of good size lounges so you can relax. . the kitchen is massive and it has loads of pots and pans and plates and cups so you won't need to take anything with you. . towels are also provided so you don't need to take them. . the wifi and sound station in the kitchen make Melvyn from Cambridge (16 March 2015)
Great location. excellent for a family weekend. many facilities within walking distance. Oervall, the house feels a bit "tired" . radiator not working in a large bedroom, feedback that was already captured in comments by previous visitors. we could not get left hand oven to work either. Info in house a bit lacking. house book did not appear to have details of on heating, wireless, oven etc. whilst we worked all this out, I would expect to have a little more information easily available . . . Stella from Bedford (09 February 2015)
Beautiful house, extremely well equipped. each bedroom is furnished comfortably and to a high standard, each one being very unique with a variety of sleeping options making it easy to accommodate large groups with varying occupancy. Easily accessible to cromer, only minutes from the beach. Would highly recommend. Claire from Northampton (19 January 2015)
Very enjoyable. elwin house ticked every box. Simon from Saxlingham Nethergate (01 December 2014)
Very comfortable and spacious seaside accommodation. Very close to the town. David from Whitstable (31 October 2014)
The house was great and well equipped. the one thing was the dining room was a bit of a squeeze for 14, so the maximum number would struggle. however if you don't all want to sit together there is plenty of additional seating in the kitchen. Laura (13 October 2014)
House was lovely plenty of room, well equipped, clean, ideal location the only downside would be the courtyard garden would benefit by having a gate so the back door can be open and the dogs are able to go outside. Tracey from Northampton (01 September 2014)
An ideal location for a large group. Our five families parked up when we arrived for the weekend and then had no need to drive anywhere until the weekend was over. Whilst the children in our party ranged from 12-15 in age, this would especially be an advantage for families with younger children, as everything cromer has to offer can be walked to easily - the pier, beach, town centre with shops and restaurants, and morrisons very close by! whilst not luxurious, the accommodation is charming, clean and comfortable and reasonably priced. The management company were easily reached and helpful regarding the couple of queries we had during our stay. The only disadvantage of the house could be the lack of garden, but as the cliff top lawns and beach are so near by, this is not incredibly important. Gill from London (16 June 2014)
We enjoyed our stay at elwin house 10 adults 7children 2dogs no problems Peter from Braintree (09 June 2014)
The house is so much than expected, there was plenty of space and everything we needed to have a fabulous week with all our family. Nicki from London (30 May 2014)
Lovely spacious house, well resourced. Some bedrooms were a little cold. Otherwise very nice house which catered well for a large number over christmas. Very appreciative of the christmas tree which was there when we arrived. Douglas from Wymondham (28 December 2013)
Great for a family party. Slight problem with lack of bathrooms but we managed. Switch for security lights had been turned off and we couldn't locate it so access at the rear of the property in the dark was. Tricky.a brilliant week! thank you. Pat from Brentwood (09 August 2013)
Location is great. Rooms are spacious and modern. Mina from Coventry (15 Jul 2013)
Plenty of room for everyone. Margaret from Penryn (31 May 2013)
It was very well equipped and a great location, very clean and comfortable Ros from High Wycombe (06 May 2013)
Beautiful house, every room is spacious and nicely decorated. The house is well equipped in a fantastic location. I would highly recommend it. Jane from Leicestershire (05 April 2013)
Nice rooms and good location in the town and near the beach Paul from Epsom (18 March 2013)
A large well equipped house with plenty of room for eveyone. We were a large family party of 12 adults, 4 children and a baby together with 3 dogs and we all had ample space including sleeping arrangements. The children had lots of fun in the house as it is on 3 floors but also with half landings making it ideal for hide and seek. The house could not be better situated being a 2 minute walk from the sea, and likewise to the local supermarket. The town was also less than a 5 minute walk.the photos on the wedsite do not do this property any justice! John from Cheshunt (04 January 2013)
Adequate number of bedrooms. Living area was spacious. Kitchen well equipped. Heating was excellent Helen from Norwich (28 December 2012)

Location and convenience for sea front. Customer 51 (September 2010)
Lovely house in a very convenient location. It was very well decorated. Nice large kitchen which was well equipped - the only items we only missed were a coffee plunger and some serving spoons. The dining room was nice but only just large enough. Very convenient location. Customer 52 (September 2010)
Large property with ample room for our party. Customer 53 (April 2010)
