Very comfortable cottage situated on a lovely farm. the owners are very friendly and there is a nice big field out the back. ideal for a family. Sarah from Berkshire (29 July 2017)
Catherine and john were very welcoming. They explained things and regularly checked that everything was alright. The only downside was the saggyness of the sofas, an item that had been commented on in the guest comment book. Brian from Cambridge (24 June 2017)
This is our 2nd visit to this cottage. John and catherine were once again perfect hosts, and the cottage is to a high standard. Heather from Beverley (15 April 2017)
This is a beautiful, well equipped cottage in a lovely location. The views were great, there were walks through the fields from the front door and lots of space for children to run around and play outside. for us, the main thing which let it down was that it lacked comfort. we found the mattresses uncomfortable which made it difficult to get a good night's sleep and the sofas were also very soft & saggy. . thank you for the 'welcome pack' which included milk, tea, coffee and a bottle of wine, it was greatly appreciated. Lou from Lincoln (08 April 2017)
We had a fantastic time - thank you very much :) Chloe (27 February 2017)
2nd visit to tawny owl and loved it all over again. Grey location. Very warm and cosy. Would like to stay again. Confirmed Guest (08 October 2016)
Our 3rd visit to tawny owl and just as good as the first. lovely location, close to beaches and towns, yet in the country. accommodation is cosy and homely with a warm welcome from the owners. everything you need is provided, along with biscuits, milk and wine on arrival. hope to visit again soon. Janet from Wiltshire (17 September 2016)
Fantastic cottage and lovely people also the area was beautiful x Maxine from Wollaston (27 August 2016)
We had a great week here. The views were gorgeous, the house was spotless, warm comfy and stunning, the owners were very welcoming and on hand if you need them. The only minor thing i'd have changed was the location, having 3 children with us I didn't feel things were in walking distance because of the busy country lane however we were able to get around and be in places very easily and quickly. I would stay again and I would highly recommend it!! Laura from Marlow (30 July 2016)
Beautiful cottage, hosts were very friendly and bideford easy to get to. Edwyn from Cobham, Surrey (11 June 2016)
Spotlessly clean and in a lovely location..would recommend to anyone Darren from Birmingham (04 June 2016)
Wonderful property with very helpful owners, we loved our stay. Highlight seeing lambs being born. Confirmed Guest (09 April 2016)
Good place which we would like to return to. Our only criticism is that there was no milk jug and there was a shortage of cleaning materials. Roger from Belbroughton (05 March 2016)
Great location. Great place Confirmed Guest (20 February 2016)
Excellent accommodation, helpful owner greeted us on arrival. Only two small sofas in the lounge area not enough comfortable seating for all of us, but everything else faultless. . we would highly recommend staying there and hope to return. Joanne from Bristol (30 November 2015)
Really lovley cottage and friendly helpful owners, we would defiantly go again sometime Confirmed Guest (08 November 2015)
Very lovely cottage which was well presented and ideal location for exploring the local sights Jess from Oxfordshire (31 October 2015)
We found our stay at tawny owl to be of a very high quality, the barn was very well eqipped and suited our family needs perfectly. . the peaceful location and large garden were perfect for lazy summer evenings. . I would love to come and stay again. Lorna from Sutton (15 August 2015)
We had a smashing time at this lovely barn conversion which was everything we expected and more. This is definitely a home from home with genuine helpful owners. The location was ideal and in easy reach of a lovely beach at instow. Once settled in it took only seconds to wind down and relax here. . the only other thing to say is we will be staying here again. Craig from Tamworth (08 August 2015)
Lovely holiday cottage warm and comfortable, but it was too far away from pubs and shops. We had elderly parents with us so we found it a bit isolated. Also had problems with the electric hob no instructions on how to use it. Beverley from Gwent (06 June 2015)
Such a beautiful cottage! it was perfect. The cottage was spacious & spotlessly clean. It was also beautifully decorated. On our arrival we were greeted by freshly cut flowers, wine & biscuits & the owners who were lovely. They let our children go onto the farm to see a lamb being born which was very kind of them at this busy time of year. the property was set in a lovely rural location with easy access to bideford & barnstable. It also provided a great base to explore north devon. We hope to return here in the future. Lyndsey from Brighton (04 April 2015)
Fabulous property, excellent location, very hospitable owners! couldn't have asked for more. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and we will re-visit in the not too distant future! thanks. Ian from Northamptonshire (28 March 2015)
The cottage is modern inside, well equipped and in a quiet rural location. the owners are friendly and left a courtesty bottle of wine, biscuits and milk. the showers are wonderful. I can't really say anything bad. . I would come here again and probably will. Matthew from Winchester (09 February 2015)
Overall a really lovely cottage, slight negatives being it is but a bit short on plates and cutlery. No hanging space in twin room is a pain and the lounge really needs an extra sofa to comfortably seat 5 or 6 Sarah from Warwick (04 January 2015)
Super - would recommend! Carolyn from Swindon (28 December 2014)
Beautiful cottage, clean and all furniture and fittings make it feel like home not a holiday cottage. Lovely welcome with a bottle of wine and pack of biscuits plus extra touches such as milk tea, coffee and sugar really made a lovely surprise! would definitely recommend to anyone, a great base for exploring beautiful devon. A lovely, lovely cottage. Alice from Herefordshire (17 November 2014)
The cottage was warm, clean, comfortable, it is in a tiny village so you have beautiful surroundings but are only 5 minutes from bideford. The owners had left us a box of tesco biscuits, bottle of wine, tea/coffee and milk in the fridge - everything you need on arrival! john the owner gave us and our two children a tour of his farm and took his time in explaining things and showing animals and tractors to the children. We all had a lovely time and hope to go back one day. Amanda from Nottinghamshire (25 October 2014)
Lack of hanging space in twin room would be a problem if therewere six occupants. Shelves and hooks in bathroom are needed. Otherwise, lovely spacious accommodation away from the hustle & bustle of urban life. Peter from Nottingham (20 September 2014)
Very good accomodation, rural setting, supermarket within 2 miles, highly recommended Janet from Warminster (13 September 2014)
Fantastic cottage, very clean, comfortable and modern. lovely setting and close to local beaches and shops, all just a short drive away. great welcome from owners who had equipped the cottage with everything we could possibly need. would definitely recommend this property and look forward to visiting again. Everything, lovely setting, lovely little cottage and lovely owners! Pete from Brockenhurst (22 Jun 2013)
The barn was a lovely spacious property located close to bideford the nearest town and to the new tesco's supermarket. We were able to house our bikes in the bike storage shed which was a bonus for us. John the owner was very helpful (we didn't meet his wife) and would often be seen around on his tractor. Kim from Vale (15 Jun 2013)
Very clean, spacious, tastefully decorated. Recently fitted out, so lovely bathrooms in particular. Nice outside space with plenty of room for the children to run around in and nice outside seating areas. Ellen from Matlock (08 Jun 2013)
