Cottages was amazing, and the gardens were very large, children loved the area where the swings climbing ladder were, very secure for them to play. the area which let the property down was the cleaning, cobwebs everywhere especially around all windows had to hoover myself to fell comfortable. garden needs tidying, and cottage needs some tlc. because we went in school holidays the price went up, my real bug bear was that we had been left with one toilet roll in both bathrooms for seven people for a week, just enough dishwasher tablets to wash once a day, no washing power or conditioner. this is the first time when booking a cottage I have had to purchase all these extras. I also suggest that a dryer should be put in, as if the weather is bad we had to try and dry items over all the radiators. Also outside furniture needs replacing. Great points the cottage is at the end of a lane, very secure for children, could leave them to run around very large garden. the cottage is unique and has oddles of character. this could be an amazing place if the owners spent some money on it. Kay from Cheshire (03 June 2017)
Collfryn cottage was ideally located for walking the coast path. the cottage was clean, tidy and quite cosy, but just lacked in a few areas. The garden wasn't as tidy as the cottage. The kitchen tap dripped constantly and the water to the kitchen sink wasn't hot enough. . the owner of the property was very helpful and provided a hairdryer within a day of our arrival. Julie from Shropshire (29 April 2017)
Once you get used to the location, quite,at the end of its own lane,it grows on you Donald from Nantwich (11 February 2017)
What an amazing place stayed over the new year had the best time ever, can't wait to return in a few weeks time. Love this place. John from Liverpool (03 January 2017)
We had an amazing time at collfryn cottage, there is so much to see and do in the area. We would definitely recommend this accommodation. Debra from Northampton (24 September 2016)
Stunning ! David from Mount Isa (17 September 2016)
A lovely stay Christine from Bury St Edmunds (27 August 2016)
We really loved the cottage and felt at home immediately. . great place to stay. Denise from Berlin (20 August 2016)
We were made very welcome by the family and we all felt happy and comfortable in the cottage. The one drawback was that the mattresses were too soft for most people. The bunk bedroom was rather tight for teenagers, but otherwise a super place. Adrian from Germany (30 July 2016)
We had a brilliant time. the cottage was lovely - better than we expected. plenty to do and see, the cottage being a fantastic base for all of this and so comfortable. plenty of central heating and full internet access to plan your journeys on googlemaps. also very handy for the bright lights of caernarfon. . even though the weather was cold when we arrived, we received the warmest of welcomes from lillian the owner who set us up with butter, welshcakes and eggs. . we found both bathrooms were big, clean - looking and modern. . we plan to return as soon as possible - so don't you dare book it 'cos we want to!. . best of times. . lyn and rob Lyn from Wirral (07 May 2016)
We had a wonderful time, thank you! Gabriel from French (09 April 2016)
Amazing cottage. Upon arrival was met by lillian who gave us a tour, local advice and had the fire raging for us. Lovely lady. Beautiful area, made the most of the whole grounds for our little dog, 2 yr old and elderly parents. Partner and I went on the walks through the back gate where you could reach dinas beach, but a nice half way point its the pub in llandwrog. Cottage was amazing throughout. Only one minor fault was the odd jobs going on during our stay and few tools left out which my daughter loved to find!. heard there is big plans for the grounds with landscaping and extensions, hopefully not too much to change as its an amazing place. When you come from the concrete jungle of the west midlands you love to the natural outdoors at its finest. . 10/10 cottage 10/10 owner. . we shall 100% return Niall from Coventry (19 March 2016)
Well..where to start. This cottage is set in 12 acres of fields and partial woodland. It has a very traditional exterior and interior but with all the mod cons to allow a comfortable stay. Central heating. Dishwasher etc. Fantastic decoration and wall dressings really added to the cottage feel and very authentic. As soon as we walked in I told the owner, who was very inviting and pleasant (cake, fresh milk and fresh welsh butter certainly does the trick), that the pictures on the internet don't do the place justice as the reality was bordering on spectacular. . its location is pretty much spot on in terms of access to pwhelli and cearnarfon both of which are beautiful and within 15 -20 minutes drive. This didn't detract from the rural u ntouched location and the main entrance to the cottage is set back approx. 1000 yards from the main road with a large private drive again until you come across the cottage naturally hidden by beautiful trees. Angelsey is also a very short drive. . the exterior areas are nice. There was a partially finished secret garden (under construction at time of our visit) and a small children's area with swing and rope ladder etc. This is only suitable for older children as its not fenced in and the swing is a touch high off the ground. . . we read some reviews that negatively mentioned the exterior gardens negatively. When we spent an afternoon in it on our second day I couldn't have been anymore surprised why people would comment negatively. The exterior gardens are tidy and but not landscaped by any stretch of the imagination. I can understand why as tis would firstly be very expensive to do and also even more to maintain. Given this cottage is fantastically and fairly priced my assumption would be that had the gardens been fully landscaped and maintained etc the price of the cottage would go up accordingly. . . again the gardens weren't fenced off and area were uneven so not suitable to leave younger children unattended etc but common sense prevails and as long as the children are supervised hours of fun can be had, which ours did ( 8, 5 and 2) looking at sheep, playing amongst the trees and picking up stick and pine cones! . . overall a fantastic stay and would highly recommend. . ps bed were ultra comfy and cottage never cold which was surprising considering its construction (stone built with wooden frame) Luke from Manchester (19 February 2016)
Many lamps in dark cottage which would have been lovely had they all had working bulbs. No guest handbook on property so not aware where we could venture in garden/woodland and property split in to two with resident in connecting building. Allison from Manchester (14 November 2015)
The cottage was ok .the garden whoever needed a little tlc. It advertised woods but you were unable to walk through them. Very overgrown.as was the garden. Kendal from Birmingham (07 November 2015)
Lovely cosy cottage in idyllic situation. Andrea from Inverness (24 October 2015)
Wonderful property with excellent surroundings! Tanya from Bolton (03 October 2015)
I can honestly say this was one of the best cottages we have stayed in. lillian the owner was just lovely and very helpful, the cottage was gorgeous every home comfort - we would definitely stay there again. Tracy from Staffordshire (29 August 2015)
Positives:. great location. Easy to get to many places from the cottage, but the cottage is still secluded enough for a very peaceful holiday. Would highly recommend a visit to the black boy inn at caernarfon. Beautiful inside and great food. The cottage itself is beautiful and very well equipped. Owners have taken notice of previous comments as there were leaflets for nearby attractions. Negatives:. we had issues with the toilet flushing which were reported to the owner, but sometimes eventually cleared itself. This was a huge issue as there were 7 of us. The advert stated full sky package, but there was no sport channels. Not an issue for myself, but was for the men of the party. No mobile phone signal - great for switching off but not when we needed to call the owner. The bath overflow didn't appear to be connected properly, so a nice relaxing soak resulted in me having to clean the flood that appeared!. we lit the fire which looked great, but there was no instructions on how the fire worked so no heat was coming from it at all. No heating was left on, nor were there any instructions on how to do this. I understand that it is august but it did get chilly a couple of nights and we would have benefited from a heat source, especially with having young children and older guests in the party. . I would stay in the area again as it was beautiful, but don't think I would stay at this cottage again. Angela from Newcastle, Staffordshire (08 August 2015)
A beautiful cottage in a lovely setting. Very comfortable and well equipped. The only disappointment was the lack of local places to eat and local walks from the cottage. There were plenty of footpaths marked on the map but were almost always very badly overgrown and some were even wired up. Amanda from Matlock (01 August 2015)
Our main concern was the lack of information booklet in the cottage, we did tell the owner, but all she said was it should have been there and she would have to make up another one - we never received this! we booked the cottage because it was supposed to be dog friendly, we were told upon arrival that our dog had to be on the lead all of the time if he used the garden - hardly a relaxing holiday for the dog or us. Nina from Harrold (18 July 2015)
Perfect holiday retreat! what a fantastic cottage, it has everything you could think of! will definitely be booking again. Tanya from Bolton (10 November 2014)
A fantastic place to stay with very frendly owners and a wonderful atmosphere. Beautyful location and very comfortable. Great value Andrew from London (11 October 2014)
In a beautiful location..would recommend the white hart pub for eating. Lovely cakes provided on arrival. Beds were leaning towards too soft but that could be down to personal preference. Loved visiting abersoch beach but info about booking activities would have been useful in advance. Confirmed Purchaser (02 August 2014)
We had a wonderful stay at cottage the only downside was snowdonia is not at all dog friendly we have stayed most counties in britain with our dog cottages never had a problem though this one best weve ever had but woudnt come back didnt feel welcome Celia from Plymouth (14 June 2014)
We found the owner to be most hospitable and helpful, and she went out of her way to help over a problem we had in the cottage. We could not fault her. We did find the uneven spiral stairs difficult and the fact that the toilets were downstairs ( one of which had no seat for the whole of our stay ). was a problem at night. If you go knowing these problems you will have a lovely holiday in a beautiful part of wales. Pam from Leicestershire (17 May 2014)
Beautiful cosy cottage, full of character and charm, we had a lovely relaxing time here. while the cottage is old it is really well equipped with all the mod cons you could hope for, wifi, sky. Power shower, and some lively old featured like the rayburn and wood stove.the cottage is really well located for all the attractions in the area, and the owner couldn't be more helpful. Rob from Derby (01 February 2014)
The cottage was absolutely beautiful we went in november for my mums 50th birthday and it was perfect! all of us want to go back it was so cosy in the winter but I can imagine it to be just a stunning in the summer with the big patio area! I would recommend this cottage to anyone! a few of our friends are already wanting to book it and the owner lillian is really lovely aswell. Alexandra from Liverpool (17 November 2013)
We had a wonderful week at collfryn cottage. the owner couldn't have been more helpful, the property was clean and well kept and the surrounding area was beautiful. our children loved exploring the fields, feeding the chickens and ducks and collecting eggs. Laura from Eastbourne (17 August 2013)
Quirky, cosy, confortable, great location for fabulous beach. Good atmosphere in cottage. Good welcome. Private field to exercise dog. Confirmed Purchaser (06 April 2013)
Lovely location, comfortable beds, homely feel, beautiful fireplace, comfortable furnishings, lovely rayburn. Sam from Derby (18 March 2013)
Good location, easy access to lots of places to go. quiet and peaceful. plenty of cooking utensals. two bathrooms. good supply of towels. Chris from Stockton On Tees (29 September 2012)
The cottage is in a very peaceful location and a perfect base for a restful holiday. There are some excellent walks from the doorstep and a dog walker’s paradise with meadows, woodland and stream. A haven for wildlife. Inside the cottage is tastefully furnished and extremely well equipped. It was a pleasure to cook in the kitchen. Highly recommended. Would love to return. Customer 33 (June 2012)
Very kind and friendly owners, who made us feel very much at home. Customer 34 (February 2012)
The property is beautiful and it is surrounded by lovely gardens with fruit tree’s and a pond as well as a stream running through it, you are attached to the owners cottage however your not directly overlooked and the owners leave you to enjoy your stay. The beams in the cottage are low (which you would expect) and if you are 6’tall or more you will bang your head! the bed room’s are lovely with period features a plenty and there’s no traffic to wake you in the morning just birds singing. If you wan’t a peaceful holiday this is a great place to go. Only bad point is the nearest shop is about 2 miles away and there is not much to do for children. Customer 35 (August 2011)
Lady who ran the hotel was lovely and had the accommodation feeling warm and home like, leaving us some coal and fire to cook and keep warm with. Gave some nice little tips on the area were to drink eat etc.. the house was perfect decoration and comfort can not be faulted. Thanks for the stay we all had lots of fun. Customer 36 (March 2011)
Beautiful peaceful location. Cottage was "fairytale" gorgeous but had all the mod cons you could ask for. Owner was very friendly and helpful. All in all the perfect dog friendly getaway. Customer 37 (November 2010)
Idyllic location, fabuluous interior that the photos couldn’t do justice. Customer 38 (October 2010)
Well presented old cottage - great location and garden. Customer 39 (August 2010)
A lovely setting for getting away from it all! Customer 40 (July 2009)
Nice ducks! Reasonably close to beach/sea too. Close to the well known walks. Nicely tucked away. Customer 41 (May 2009)
The owner very helpful and your company was brilliant. Customer 42 (March 2009)
Owners very welcoming and helpful. Cottage met and exceeding our expectations. A lovely combination of traditional charm and modern facilities. We would definitely recommend. Customer 43 (February 2009)
A comfy, cosy, beautifully furnished cottage with great surroundings - particularly for adventurous children. Great that so much in the area remained open in the winter months e.g. Carnarfon Castle, Portmeirion, Slate Mines. Customer 44 (December 2007)
