We had a lovely week at this amazing cottage, what a magnificent locatoion! hope to return again in the future! Customer 1 from London (11 August 2017)
Comfortable cottage in a good location for country walks from the door. Interesting industrial archaeology nearby. well-equipped, but the luxurious duvet provided was rather hot for summer! Nigel (04 August 2017)
Fantastic location . the cottage is so well equipped and very clean x Hilary from Billinge (21 July 2017)

Great location, peaceful and quiet for a great relaxing break Neil from Shrewsbury (08 January 2017)
Fantastic winter weekend break at coed mawr. . the location is wonderful and the cottage itself is very well equipped, homely and clean. . . will certainly stay again Michael from Manchester (20 November 2016)
The most hidden away, peaceful, beautiful find we've ever had. . extremely well equipped family home with a lovely lived in feel. Great power shower and comfortable beds after amazing walking and mountain biking in surrounding woodland. Very steep drive up and down to village, but no problem, just added to the experience. Already looked into returning next year as positive we wouldn't find a better cottage in snowdonia where there is so much to see and do. I'm regretting writing this already as too many people will want to use it so we could have problems booking! Helen from Maidenhead, Berks (07 October 2016)
Very well placed location, close to shops and lovely walking area. Very quiet, could do with some paving slabs near back door to pick nick table but that's just my opinion. Wales is a lovely place to visit,we have holiday end in wales a lot over the years and will continue to do so . had a great holiday Peter from Norwich (02 September 2016)
A very old cottage in a stunning location with lots of modern luxuries. Lots of exploring and splashing in steams to be done or just sitting and admiring the views the perfect get away! Ann from Northampton (03 June 2016)
Excellent location Vivien from Tonbridge (20 May 2016)
Cottage was really nice journey upto cottage a bit hairy our car a bmw was very low at front and had to be very careful track very twisty Irene from Cheadle Hulme (15 April 2016)
A great holiday, will definitely be returning! Kirsty from York (29 February 2016)
I stayed at "coed mawr" in february 2016 for 7 nights with family members and was very happy I did. I found the property without any problems thanks to the owners excellent directions and the drive up through the forest was lovely. the house was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a weeks holiday. The heating was on for our arrival so warm and cozy. The log burner was lovely in the lounge and the bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable with clean and fresh bedding. The cottage is in a great location, peaceful with scenery galore and walking and mountain biking is possible straight from the door. Snowdonia mountain ranges about 15 minutes drive away. We enjoyed our stay and will return, I would absolutely recommend this cottage. David from Sittingbourne (22 February 2016)
Mark. . the cottage is a perfect retreet, and we would deninatley stay again. With coed mawr about 5 minutes from betws y coed it is in an ideal location, the track from betws y coed to the cottage is not as bad as people make out if you take it slow and take your surroundings. Overall I would highly reccomend coed mawr to anyone who is after a quiet break in the countryside. Mark from Liverpool (24 January 2016)
It's amazing place for people loving nature around with no civilisation. we loved every corner of the cottage. Dita from Manchester (04 January 2016)
Stunning and remote location. Warm and comfortable cottage, easy to light fire and brilliant central heating. There a few decorative touches not to my taste but did not affect my enjoyment of the holiday. Well equipped kitchen. . walking straight from door into the forest and we were mountain biking straight onto the marin trail from the cottage. The track from betws-y-coed is a fun single track but not too difficult or busy but is steep in places. . the dark evenings meant star gazing, a warm fire and film or two form the huge collection available on a quality tv set-up. Roger from Cheltenham (23 October 2015)
Coed mawr, beautiful property, clean, comfortable, warm and cosy, the road to the property is adventurous, but after a couple of goes, you soon get the hang of it. also, found the property very localized, within an easy drive to many lovely places. Would definitely come back to this property, without hesitation. Karen from Aston Stevenage (09 October 2015)
You just cannot improve the location - superb. Viv from Tonbridge (02 October 2015)
Wonderful cottage in beautiful location. cottage was clean, warm and comfortable with all the equipment you could need. approach to cottage is along a road in the forest and is quite bumpy in parts but the location is worth the drive. Mags from London (11 September 2015)
A lovely cottage, very well equipped and in a stunning location. . fantastic countryside and walks on the doorstep and easy to reach attractions in north and mid wales from betws y coed. Sarah from West Sussex (04 September 2015)
Lovely cottage, superb location. outside area could be improved for sitting out to take advantage of the wonderful views. Christina from Sudbury (28 August 2015)
Lovely cottage in a wonderful location, excellent for the young children in our party who were able to play safely in the surrounding fields. kitchen equipment left something to be desired. one of the rings on the stove did not work and there was no cafetiere - bad news for those of us who don't like instant coffee! but overall we were warm and comfortable. We were frustrated that the owner had gone to skye where there was no telephone signal so we were unable to get hold of him to get the door code before we left home for the 8 hour drive to get there. had spent three days trying to contact him. we were debating whether to set off or not when he eventually rang with the code. not a good start!! Chris from Bishopsteignton (21 August 2015)
Upon approaching coed mawr the lower part of the track could benifit from a few passing places as it is a single track. The cottage is in a lovely quiet , relaxing location. Sharon from Bristol (07 August 2015)
Wonderful place. Confirmed Guest (17 July 2015)
Property was quite isolated and the track was very long, steep and narrow with two gates to open and close each time you went up and came back, not nice in wet weather! in places we temporarily lost sight of the road on bumpy bends. Would not like driving up there on ice or snow. Not much in the way of passing places, and I would not have liked to reverse very far!. cottage itself was generally very nice and well equipped, but we had a feeling some of the work was of good diy standard, and quite a bit still to be done. We lost electricity one afternoon and evening and only found one match to light fire, which didn't take; had to drive down to village and back to buy firelighters and matches. Great potential though! Michael from Colyton, Devon (10 July 2015)
We all had a superb time in this lovely cottage - fantastic location, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We cant wait to visit again and cant recommend it enough if you want peace and quiet within a couple of miles of the lovely betwys y coed. Karen from Huddersfield (19 June 2015)
We had a wonderful time at coed mawr and will defiantly be back again. the most well equip cottage we have ever stayed in, a real home away from home. Everything you could want in the kitchen (except a dish washer, but didn't mind this at all as it gave a good reason our boys to have to do the washing up like we used to have to!) extensive library of both books and dvd's and everything else we needed. the highlight of our trip was the pregnant pig giving birth to 11 piglets the night before we left! the kids were beside themselves, so cute! gorgeous place to stay - couldn't recommend highly enough. Tina from Kenilworth (29 May 2015)
We stay at coed mawr for around 3 weeks a year and we have been visiting the cottage for 39 years. we love the cottage and the location and would like to continue staying at the cottage for many more years. Barry from Ashby-De-La-Zouch (22 May 2015)
Lovely place in beautiful suroundings Customer 33 from Southampton (08 May 2015)
Beautiful views from this cottage. Peaceful place with walking straight from the door. Only problem was lack of information. There was no book with info re equipment, local doctors etc we would normally expect to find. Also no matches or lighter for the fire, though there was plenty of wood. Kitchen was well equipped. Roseanne from Morpeth (27 March 2015)
Excellent stay, and the cottage exceeded everyone's expectations. Will definitely return. Graham from Warwick (23 March 2015)
Excellent location and immaculate cottage. Has all the amenities required except for wifi, which is not a big issue as its supposed to be a retreat. Really pleased with the cottage. Akeel from Birminghame (09 March 2015)
Fabulous location, the cottage was very beautiful comfy and cosy with having a log burner, the bed was nice and clean and comfy. Hydro spa bath was very welcoming and relaxing. All in all my husband and I rate this a 10 out of 10, we will definitely be back soon. Christine from Nottinghamshire (01 March 2015)
Fantastic cottage with incredible facilities and a truly terrific location. . . we really appreciate the up to date feel of the technology/kitchen as well as the rustic feel. . . Mark from Newtown Powys (11 January 2015)
Everyone in our party was very happy with coed mawr cottage. It was extremely well equipped and comfortable. The approach down the narrow track was as described but presented no problems and added to the charm. The views of the surrounding countryside from the cottage were fantastic and there were numerous walks right from the front door. The cottage is well placed to make visits to the surrounding attractions and there was plenty of information available from the leaflets that were in the cottage to help visitors maximise their stay. We would go back again without hesitation. Mick from Downham Market (03 October 2014)
The most wonderful location we have ever been to! fabulous cottage we cannot wait to go back everything was wonderful and the owners sorted out a little problem for us quickly and it didn't affect the holiday. Absolutely amazing place views fabulous so quiet and peaceful and excellent for visiting snowdonia, welsh highland railway caernarfon castle all amazing betsw-y-coed lovely spent whole day there track was easy to navigate had 9 seater people carrier and no problem in fact the driveway added to the feel of the place cannot say enough about how much we loved it will definitely be going back !!!!!! Carol from Taunton (12 September 2014)
We have stayed in a lot of cottages over the years and we have to say that this one is one of the very best. If you like the ability to get away from it all then this is perfection. Quiet, peaceful and with breathtaking views across to snowdonia. Just a few minutes from the cottage you can forrage for wild strawberries and blueberries. Inside the cottage is spacious and very well presented. Well equipped too. We couldn't have been happier and the 5 minute journey back to town where there are great shops and restaurants is an added bonus, you feel like you could be a million miles from the hustle and bustle of modern life, when in fact you are only a brief car journey away. We will certainly return. Alan from Letchworth (18 July 2014)
This was my 3rd time at coed mawr and I still love it!. I really enjoyed seeing the wildlife and sheep, few birds of prey too!. the cottage is brilliant and a great base. Yes it is up a narrow track and yes there is sheep poop, but your in north wales!!! and with views as wonderful as the ones you get in coed mawr who cares! Lois from Suffolk (13 June 2014)
Very comfortable cottage. Good location. Will definitely use again Andrew from Little Chalfont (09 May 2014)
Lovely cottage! owner very helpful with directions! cottage has a log burner and good size rooms. The drive up the track to the cottage is a little daunting due to the width of the road and pot holes, glad we never met another car as no where to go, but got the hang of it through out the week. There are lots of walks around the area with plenty of sheep near the cottage which can open gates and often visited us in the garden in the evening. Kids loved the cottage with plenty of room to run around! would book again, maybe take smaller car next time. Alison from Cirencester, Gloucestershire (18 April 2014)
Have stayed here on four occasions previously. We feel that the cottage is getting a little tired and needs time and some money spent to bring things internally up to scratch; the bathroom is shabby and the kitchen/dining room need a thorough cleaning and sorting out. A lick of paint throughout the property would not go amiss as there are stains that were there on previous visits. We love the cottage and its location and would love to stay again but we would need reassuring that an effort has been made to remedy the situation I have described. Mark from Yelverton (04 April 2014)
Very homely, comfortable, spacious, the location is beautiful, peaceful, and brilliant for walks. Damian from Carr (10 February 2014)
Although a beautiful setting, the drive to the cottage leaves alot to be desired. Cottage again could be cleaner, having stayed there before, and saying this before, the cleaner only seems to see whats right in front of her/him. Sheep were a real pain, constantly in the garden, and sheep poo absolutely everywhere, glad I hadnt kids with be,im all for nature but I dont think you should have to clear the garden of sheep mess before you can walk round it. Bridget from Ely (18 October 2013)
Lovely position, to get away from noise and bustle. Confirmed Purchaser (03 May 2013)
Excellent cottage in great location. Very well equipped. Clean and comfortable. Andrew (26 April 2013)

Excellent cottage in superb location with walks from the door. Customer 56 (September 2012)
Beautiful secluded location. very cosy, comfortable and luxurious in the chilly, wet weather! well stocked with dvds. great views and walks all round the cottage. lovely touches with decor in the house and garden. Becky from Hastings (31 August 2012)
Perfect for a quiet holiday with just nature for company.lovely views all round Rita from Norwich (06 July 2012)
Exellent cottage very cosy & clean every thing you need. Customer 59 (December 2011)
Lovely cosy cottage in a very peaceful & secluded location in the Snowdonia National Park. Magnificent views of the mountains & forest. Superb walks straight from the property. Stunning star filled skies on a clear night. Woodburner stove added a special touch of warmth on a chilly evening. 3 generations of our family, including our 6 & 8 year old grandsons had a wonderful time together. We all absolutely loved the cottage & the surrounding area & did not want to leave. Customer 60 (August 2011)
Very homely, well equiped, comfortable, spacious, bath amazing, brilliantly located for walks. Customer 61 (January 2011)

Remote location. Customer 65 (October 2010)
Superb location. Customer 66 (September 2010)
Fantastic location! Customer 67 (September 2010)
Very nice cottage with excellent views of Snowdon. Well appointed though a dishwasher would be nice. Think more should be mentioned regarding the drive up to the cottage. Takes 10 minutes up and down from Betws-y-Coed and the road gets very difficult at the end. Overall a lovely holiday despite the weather! Customer 68 (July 2010)
Fantastic location, perfect for walking and cycling trails in the woods. Great for two small boys to be able to wander about without any traffic. Customer 69 (July 2010)
Spacious accommodation. Very remote on a waymarked walk so excellent for walkers. Superior spa and quality equipment throughout the property. Customer 70 (June 2010)
Lovely cottage in beautifull and peacefull surroundings. Customer 71 (June 2010)
An amazing location with spectacular views & scenery. Located in probably the best small town close to Snowdonia. Will definitely return if we can find a vacant week, understandably very popular! Customer 72 (March 2010)
A delightful cottage tucked away in a remote location. Customer 73 (February 2010)

A very spacious, cosy, warm, well equipped cottage, with fantastic views of Snowdonia. Lovely furnishings, comfy beds and the standard of housekeeping was excellent. In the middle of nowhere, but only a couple of minutes drive into Betsw y Coed (which is lovely). Great walks in the surrounding forest. The perfect place to chill out. We will be returning next year! Customer 78 (February 2009)
