Great cottage unfortunately the garden is not child or pet friendly and also the seating area outside needs a lot of attention Sue from Nuneaton (29 July 2017)
Lovely cottage with good sized rooms and brilliant location. Will be back! Amy (25 June 2017)
Lovely spacious house. Beautiful and cosy. Well supplied with toilet roll and soap. Also appreciated the goodiesleft for us. Annette (18 June 2017)
Absolutely beautiful cottage. Easy to find and within easy reach of betws-y-coed. Couldn't fault it! Vickie from Wrexham (12 March 2017)
Perfect for exploring snowdonia Lee from Wortham (16 January 2017)
We had a great stay at cartref for two nights and a days climb! the house was really comfortable and well equipped which made for a very relaxing stay. A great place to come back to after a day climbing snowdon. Would definitely stay here again. Confirmed Guest (18 September 2016)
Cartref is in an ideal location for exploring snowdonia national park. It's only a short drive to the lovely village of betwsy-y-coed and a short walk to the delightful pub, tyn-y-coed which serves good food and beer!. cartref is perfect for family/friend gatherings. It is extremely well equipped including a utility/boot room with washing machine and tumble dryer (paramount for family and active outdoor holidays). there was a welcome pack on arrival including tea, coffee, sugar, fresh milk and welsh cakes etc.the house was clean and tidy and had a lovely relaxed/chill out feel to it. The owners were incredibly helpful with a query I had prior to the holiday and seemed prepared to go above and beyond in making our stay enjoyable and most importantly, memorable. We definitely hope to return. Thank you. Julie from Halifax (08 July 2016)
Cartref is an ideal location for our family being near to for instance snowdon, betws y coed, conwy, llangollen, beddgelert and portmerion. the house is a very suitable family home with four bedrooms and two living rooms, as well as table and chairs in the kitchen. the pub just down the road to capel curig is very convenient for meals, too. Rosemary from Bristol (18 June 2016)
Location is great, needs redecorating throughout, black mould and rotten floor board under master bedroom window and water stain on the ceiling, very high bed but very comfy. The house is roomy , but does smell of dogs. the overall condition of the house does not warrant the 4* rating . Confirmed Guest from Bedfordshire (04 June 2016)
House needs maintenance. Light bulbs need replacing. Toilet seat in main bathroom is an h&s hazard. Shower in main bathroom not draining effectively. Window in double bedroom won't open. Radiator leaks behind settee in main living room. Despite all these issues a great location and house would recommend it others. Colin from Peterborough (14 May 2016)
We rented this property out between 7 friends for a week of walking in snowdonia. the property met all of our needs and surpassed them in many ways. I would recommend the property to anyone and would certainly return. . there is plenty of space and all of the furniture and equipment within the property is in very good working order. . I was slightly concerned before we arrived about the proximity to the a5, but you could not hear the road once in the property and you barely noticed it was even there. it also means that the property is very well situated and there is easy access to the majority of the hills and to the shops. you can do a number of walks and bike rides from the door which is always better than long drives. . highly recommended property. Stephen from Lichfield (27 February 2016)
A beautiful cottage in a stunning location. The decor and facilities were excellent throughout, with some nice pleasing touches such as fresh milk, tea coffee, logs and coal for the fire waiting for us upon our arrival. We stayed in the cottage whilst on a photography trip. It was great to get home after a hard days walking and climbing to unwind and warm up in front of the fire Lee from Wortham (11 January 2016)
We had a great weekend at cartref. It was a perfect place for us to travel to zipworld and snowdon. Great facilities. House was lovely and clean with everything needed. Natalie from Chepstow (02 November 2015)
An all too brief stay. Although located on the main a5, it was remarkably quiet. The location was perfect for access to the marin trail for the mountain bikers and for moel siabod for the walkers. We appreciated the two lounges, the comfortable bedrooms, and the wi-fi. Alan from Southampton (05 October 2015)
We had a great week and enjoyed visiting the area. Lots to see and do! it is a lovely area and were well received at all places visited. We would certainly go again. . our only concern was the relatively hard beds and sad sofa seat cushions. Jay from Keelby, Lincs (19 June 2015)
We had a lovely long weekend stay with all the family for my husband's 60th. Cottage was lovely with lots of extra's-we had a fab weekend & would stay here again! thank you. Lynn from Oxford (01 June 2015)
Stunning property with plenty of space and character. Incredible location. Views and walks a plenty. Few minutes walk to local pub with numerous gluten free menu options. Near the beautiful town of betws-y-coed which is a personal favourite. fab family holiday. Fi from Isle Of Wight (23 May 2015)
We were already aware of the location of cartref, which was perfect for our needs being central for betws-y-coed, conwy and snowden; snowdonia is simply breathtaking ! being able to step out of the front door to go for a walk along the river was great. . three adults were holidaying for the whole week with a couple of other family members coming for a few days each. we were delighted with the comfort and roominess of cartref. having two living rooms was a bonus too. . the kitchen was very well equipped for a large family; plenty of cupboard space too. . we will be back !! Rosemary from Bristol (16 May 2015)
The best equipped house we have stayed in for 4 adults & 3 kids (aged 9,6 & 22months)!! would have scored 10 but not noted in the description that there is a car park in front of the property and also a few things need a bit of tlc in the house. But overall great place, great location for access to bets & snowdon and stone baked pizzas sold next door were fab & weather so good ate al fresco !!! when we can we'll be back !! Joanna from Dartford, Kent (11 April 2015)
Well equipped, beautiful spacious cottage. Dawn from Bristol (16 March 2015)
Cottage was a bit cold when we arrived and was difficult to get it warm enough (log burner was broken, owner told me that part was due next week). Becky from Chippenham (23 November 2014)
Great family house, outside area small, kitchen dark but loads of space in two sitting rooms. Great to have drying room. Pamela from Newcastle (27 Jul 2013)
Great location. Good size rooms. Liked that there were 2 lounges. Good drying room Mark from Preston (23 September 2012)
Excellent large property for our weekend get together, the only reason we wouldn't return is that we were renting the property with our friends and it would be too big for just the 3 of us. Sue from High Peak (09 September 2012)

Very spacious and comfortable. Customer 32 (March 2010)
It was very comfortable and well furnished. It was spacious, lovely and warm with loads of hot water. The kitchen was really well equipped. There was a large utility room which was brilliant for storing kit, bikes and made a great drying room. Customer 33 (December 2009)
