Beautiful location with great views. Very pleasant, helpful owners. Dog friendly with secure garden and patio. Definitely going back.
Jabe from Rushden (26 June 2017)

A pleasant cottage in a very quiet spot with lovely views. chickens, ducks and goats add to the atmosphere. good location for touring west cornwell.
Duncan from Petersfield (20 May 2017)

Cottage situated in a lane off the main road in a tiny hamlet. Owners have various animals like goats, chicken, horses . cottage has a separate garden which can be closed (good for the dogs) . four separate rooms. Pity is that dining area is not near the kitchen area. Friendly owners who did everything to make us feel welcome. We had a very agreable stay.
Alexander from The Netherlands (29 April 2017)

Made a perfect base for exploring cornwalls finest!
Tracy (31 March 2017)

Beautiful cottage and superb location. Friendly and helpful owner. Everything we could have wished for. Very dog friendly
Ann from Southampton (24 February 2017)

We were made so welcome and so we're our dogs even our grumpy dog. The farm is clean and spacious and kept beautiful. The cottage was just the right size for us and the enclosed garden has enough space to let the dogs out to do their business, the end of the garden does have barbed wire so not good for dogs who might try to jump it, but this is the only criticism, so if a small fence was put there instead it would be perfect.
Alison from Weston-Super-Mare (03 November 2016)

Stayed here recently as a couple with a dog and have to say for the price it was good accommodation. . the place is all on one level which suited us, though there a couple of steps within the property and a large step up into the shower (there is nothing about accessibility in the description, just for information). . the quality of the fittings were good, though allow lots of time for the oven to heat up! in terms of cleanliness, there was evidence that the place was probably booked solid through the summer not allowing a deep clean, but that isn't to say it was dirty. . the enclosed garden is great though if you have a particularly active dog there is barbed wire at the bottom. take care to check as well if you are walking down the drive to the exit whether the electric fence is on. . there are dogs belonging to the owners which often run free, something our rather nervous dog wasn't too happy with and in terms of walks if you do not want to walk on the road it might be best to go somewhere in the car. . the nearby pub is pleasant and allows dog, the beer was nice but we didn't try the food.
David from Poole (24 September 2016)

Excellent value for money and spacious accommodation. Owners very helpful and friendly.
Carl from Mannings Heath, West Sussex (16 September 2016)

Had a really comfortable stay. fantastic views, peaceful & relaxing setting in a cosy cottage.
Sandra from Barton Le Clay (12 September 2016)

Our second time here and it ticks all the boxes for us. The owners are friendly and helpful without intruding on your holiday. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and a dog walking paradise. The location makes it easy to get to all parts of cornwall. The countryman pub is just down the road for great food and hospitality. Will definitely return.
Elaine from Worcester (10 September 2016)

This was our third time at bowling green farm ,we had a warm welcome,a home from home even fresh flowers on the table .nice and peaceful with beautiful views ,and central for visiting cornwalls offerings ,
Linda from Essex (03 September 2016)

We had a great holiday. The owners were fantastic and so helpful. Accesses was by foot path behind main farm house. Can not fault the cottage or owners in any way as we had a fantastic quiet time. Perfect for getting away from everything to totaly chill out. Everything you need is in this cottage down to a washing machine as well. A place well looked after and cared for with pride.we would return without hesitation. The local pub had excellent food and local ales at reasonable prices, with some form of entertainment every night. The staff and host are very friendly and helpful and children are very welcome. If you like cream teas make sure you visit the local tea room. There is not only fabulous cream teas but freshly made main food as well. Everything is home made by the owners. Both in walking distance.
Dawn from Ramsgate Kent (20 August 2016)

Overall a lovely place, but just a little bit out of the way
Ian from Sheffield (02 July 2016)

Great place to stay. So quiet and comfortable. Bedrooms are nice and kitchen area v well designed. Easy to let dog out at night as door in lounge straight out in to garden. Wi fi would be nice. But maybe good to be able to escape the internet etc,,
Nick from Tetbury (09 April 2016)

The cottage was lovely, clean and everything we expected. the beds were very comfortable, believe new mattresses. we had been warned of the different levels which was very helpful, as this could be a problem if you have limited mobility. the dog enjoyed himself as well. considering how bad the weather was in cornwall that week, we were very warm and cosy. the cottage is all electric and the radiators are very efficient and produce heat very quickly when you come in from the cold. had slight trouble with heat levels on the shower, but this settled as time went on, do not use the shower if you have the washing machine on as this made the temperature fluctuation drastically. unfortunately there was not a hairdryer available, but may be I should have checked the equipment list before travelling.
Pauline from Aylesbury (28 March 2016)

Great cottage easy to get to places were its located . lovely people that own it . we enjoyed our stay
Fay from Suffolk (23 January 2016)

Another excellent holiday. We will visit again.
Andrew from Bristol (21 November 2015)

The owners need to change the mattress and or beds for both the double and the two single beds as they are extremely uncomfortable!
Paul from Cwmbran (10 October 2015)

The cottage had everything that you would need for your holiday,it even had a spare dog lead in case you left yours at home I would really recommend this cottage for a really good holiday
Peter from Cwmbran South Wales (19 September 2015)

A good holiday, with very nice owners
Steve from Malton (05 September 2015)

Loved the cottage, beautiful location. Cottage owners were very helpful and friendly. Very warm welcome. Cottage was clean, comfortable and an ideal base for our holiday.
Graham from Redditch (15 August 2015)

Considering this holiday cottage was advertised as "dog friendly", the overall appearance when we arrived was very pleasing, that was until we wanted to use the oven, where we found it to be dirty and had some dog hair! the shower did not look inviting and had a blockage, which meant what went down came back up and required looking at (after asking it was). I think the heating overall needs checking out as a couple of evenings we wanted to use it and found the control setting din't quite work. Underneath the dining table the carpet had not been cleaned as there were quite a lot of dog hair. A mop and bucket would be a good idea to keep in the cottage to wash the kitchen and bathroom floors. Finally a few pieces of crockery and some of the cutlery could have been cleaned to a better standard as it needed cleaning before we could use it. Finally the bin in the kitchen still had some waste from the previous occupants. The outside space was very good and provided plenty of privacy and the owners were very polite and courteous at all times.
Confirmed Guest from Bristol (08 August 2015)

We found the cottage and the owner fantastic .it was clean and tidy and anywhere that you wished to go was within half an hour's journey in a car. It is a bit out of the way if you do not have transport. All in all it was a really good week that we had.
Keith from Medway Kent (25 July 2015)

Had a wonderful stay, albeit the weather decided to take a turn for the worse!. owners (who I forget the names now), were there but not in your face. it was great being in amongst the sheep and goats with the owners 2 lovely crazy dogs.
Caroline from Highbridge (18 July 2015)

We arrived at the cottage on 30th may and stayed a week. The cottage is very cosy with a lovely log fire which we used a lot as the weather was awful the first 3 days. Had everything we needed and the beds were comfy.it is in the little village of carnkie which has a pub called the countryman. It is perfectly located as it is within easy reach of penzance, newquay,st.ives, land's end, perranporth, truro etc. The majority of places were between 30 mins and a hour. If you got dogs the garden is perfect as our dogs loved it. They even liked the goats next to the cottage as they sniffed them sometimes. The owners were lovely and never bothered you so your privacy was never a problem. The nearest town is redruth for shops and is about 5 min drive. If you bring dogs we would recommend perrenporth beach as it is dog friendly all year round, and our 2 dogs loved it. It is a beautiful beach and very big. We went there twice. The cottage is in a beautiful part of the county and would definately go there again. . paula, joyce, howie, and jake and sophie our dogs from s.wales.
Paula from Newport,S.Wales (06 June 2015)

We visited cornwall over easter weekend with couple of friends. We stayed in a bowling green cottage and apart from being a little cold in one of the bedrooms we really enjoyed our stay. Good location with easy drive to coast. Lovely owners.
Aga from Chertsey (06 April 2015)

A comfortable, animal friendly, no worries about the dog straying. Centrally located for what we wanted.
Liz from Torpoint Cornwall (27 March 2015)

Excellant accommodation, and locality. The owners were very helpfull and made us very welcome
Andrew from Alveston, Bristol (21 March 2015)

The lack of wifi was disappointing (although it's probably a bonus for some people!), and a couple of things (the dvd player built into the tv, one of the sofa seats) were broken, but nothing that spoiled our stay. In general it provided excellent accommodation for an excellent price, and the dog-friendliness was a bonus. We'd stay here again.
Stephen from St. Albans (07 February 2015)

Great owners and a wonderful quaint cottage. But furniture is rather tired. Its in a very scenic part of cornwall and has everything you need for a great holiday and very pet friendly.
Teresa from Sherborne (25 October 2014)

Our first experience of staying in a cottage with the dogs, we we're never more than 30 miles from any part of the cornish coast, and within 10/15 minutes drive from the nearest beach. Had a lovely time and the coal / log fire brought back some lovely child hood memories. The fresh flowered on arrival in the cottage was a lovely touch.
Philip from Birmingham (17 October 2014)

Everything was fine but could do with a new mattress on the double bed!
Nick from Plymouth (04 October 2014)

This is a cosy comfortable cottage - but not the garden is not entirely dog proof, the wire netting fencing could easily be jumped over by a keen dog, straight into the pet goat enclosure!
Maureen from Swindon (30 August 2014)

Great little bungalow, out in the country. Helpful owners great local dog friendly pub. Field for dog to play in.our base to visit the wonderful beaches of cornwall. Inthe book to return..jb
John from Wesham/Blackpool (07 June 2014)

A great place to stay good value for money highly recommended
Mick from Stoke-On-Trent (05 May 2014)

Lovely cosy cottage within easy reach of everything you need. Excellent location for exploring south cornwall. (plenty to do within a very short drive). small but secure enclosed garden which was great for our dogs. Lots of opportunities to sit out and enjoy the surroundings. We enjoyed the open fire on the first couple of evenings, which was bliss! . great to be able to get fresh eggs from bowling green farm too - perfect for holiday breakfast!
Rachel from Droitwich (03 May 2014)

Beautiful setting, lovely owners and amazing cottage.
Mandy from Plymouth (05 April 2014)

Lovely cottage, the bathroom could do with updating, other than that happy days.
Alan (01 March 2014)

Comfort scored lower due to the exceptionally stormy weather (early february) and even with the coal fire going and the storage heaters on it was still chilly but extra blankets were available. The garden was perfect for late night comfort breaks for the dog and the local pub was convenient and good. Liked the layout of the cottage and had a drying area which was particularly useful. Would definitely stop again but at a warmer , hopefully drier, time of year.
Martin from Staffordshire (08 February 2014)

This is a beautiful we'll equip cottage although it is on the owners land and they are on hand if needed they are not invasive at all it has spectacular views comfortable beds and very welcoming feel , it was lovely to sit with open fire roaring in the evening lovely walks and pretty central to lots of areas x
Donna from Ring Wood (12 January 2014)

Excellent holiday property. Nice and clean with good equipment. Owners very helpfull and friendly. Good rural. Location. Very relaxing with lovely log fire.
Andrew from Bristol (24 November 2013)

Great location for relaxed country walks. Cottage very well equipped. We loved the fire place in the evening! small enclosed garden perfect for dogs.
Confirmed Purchaser (17 November 2013)

Bowling green cottage was small but provided everything we needed for our week in cornwall. it was great to be able to take our dog and there was a good local walk to exercise her. the cottage was well located to enable us to visit the sights of the county. naomi was lovely and made us most welcome. we would definitely book again, if visiting cornwall in the future
Sophie from Norwich (03 August 2013)

Fabulous holiday cottage giving the impression of being totally remote while being within a few minutes of shops, retaurants and north devon coast. the garden was not only enclosed it was completely dog proof even for our little four legged houdini. although the family lived next door they were not at all intrusive and were helpful beyond measure on the couple of occasions we had questions. would return time and again if we could find any available dates!!!
Leah from Neath (06 Jul 2013)

Well equipped, everything works, fabulous location for chilling out and walking the dogs. Owners are great they leave you alone but if you need them they're there for you. The open fire is great to relax to on chilly evenings. Plenty of amenities close by if you need them but with the excellent facilities in the cottage you may not need them. Will go again.
Paul from Harwich (04 May 2013)

Clean. Well appointed. Warm with extra blankets. Enclosed garden - safe even for small dogs!
Geraldine from Salmon (01 February 2013)

Quiet, . close to tescos extra, . owners nice and friendly. owners did not disturb.
Claire from Bristol (19 January 2013)

Customer 50 (December 2011)

Good location for accessing coastline to the north and south. Area is rugged with a lot of old mining works. The cottage has a nice small garden that will be lovely if you have good weather.
Customer 51 (October 2011)

Friendly owners , beautiful views and surroundings even though the property is next to the owners home it felt separate. In a good position to visit most places in Cornwall.
Customer 52 (September 2011)

We had a fantastic stay, the property was well presented and the welcome pack was a lovely gift, well situated for exploring and a very relaxing cottage that we throughly enjoyed.
Customer 53 (August 2011)

This is a fantastic little cottage, with wonderful views. A lovely enclosed garden which is great for dogs. Central location for touring south west Cornwall. Pub within walking distance, staff and local people very welcoming. Overall a brilliant place to stay.
Customer 54 (August 2011)

Great location for walking our dog along the mining trails. Friendly locals and relaxed atmosphere. A good location for exploring all parts of Cornwall.
Customer 55 (June 2011)

Bowling Green is an idyllic cottage. The situation, cleanliness, and hospitality of the owners was second to none. The weather was poor, but did not detract from our enjoyment. The garden was a delight, n our dogs were made sooo welcome... They were even given their own"doggy welcome pack". All tourist attractions were on the doorstep... Eleven out of ten!
Customer 56 (June 2011)

Location excellent for touring the region. Enclosed garden excellent for our two dogs. The kind owners let us use their field for ball games. Excellent dog walking nearby. Very enjoyable stay.
Customer 57 (December 2010)

We found Bowling Green Cottage a clean, warm and extremely comfy place to stay. Its location was ideal for getting to many places in under 30 minutes and the local pub, within 5 minutes drive, served good food. What really swung it for us was the pretty enclosed garden - having 3 small dogs it was a boon to put them out in the garden knowing they couldn’t escape!! We are hoping to visit again next year.
Customer 58 (October 2010)

A very characterful property. Personal touches from the owner - flowers and chews for the dog, coffee, tea etc made us feel particularly welcome. The house is also in a perfect position for exploring north, south and west coasts.
Customer 59 (September 2010)

Snug cottage with beautiful garden and views.

Customer 62 (May 2010)

The accommodation was comfortable, good equipment and the location was very peaceful.
Customer 63 (April 2010)

The photos on the website did not do this cottage justice, we were very happy with the accommodation and its location. the owners were very helpful and it was very nice to be able to let our dogs have a run in the field that backed onto the garden. The enclosed garden was also very welcome as it allowed us to let our dogs outside knowing that they were safe. The surrounding area was very peaceful and we would most definatley like to return again.
Customer 64 (March 2010)

Clean, comfy, great for the dogs, good walking, easy access to all places, warm welcome. Will return for a summer holiday. Great stay.
Customer 65 (February 2010)

Great views, cottage was very clean on arrival and there was fresh water and treats waiting for the dogs.
Customer 66 (January 2010)

The views from the cottage were stunning. The location was easy access for shops and getting to all major places of interest. The owners supplied the cottage with details of attractions which was very helpful. All in all a lovely 2 weeks holiday with 4 dogs.
Customer 67 (August 2009)

Cosy, compact and dog friendly.
Customer 68 (August 2009)

It was great to have a secure garden for the dogs. The added bonus was the garden was a beautifully maintained and attractive space for us humans.
Customer 69 (April 2009)

Location ideal for trips out, very peaceful, owner very friendly, good family feel. Ideal for children but beware of the towel rail.

Customer 71 (May 2008)

The welcome was friendly and the property had everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable.
Customer 72 (February 2008)

Excellent, well-equipped and tastefully furnished cottage with superb views. Lovely walk to nearby Carn Brea castle. Beautiful north and south coasts are a short drive away. A perfect location for those who enjoy exploring British countryside at its best - Zennor to the west and Cudden Point to the south are unmissable for walkers and lovers of the countryside. A thoroughly enjoyable holiday.
Customer 73 (July 2007)

Fantastic. Had an excellent time. Accommodation and location out of this world, couldnt have been better.
Customer 74 (April 2007)

The whole process of booking was excellent, very easy to arrange. The information given about the cottage that we chose didn’t do the property justice, as it far exceeded our expectations. It was excellent, and the owners, who lived next door, were very friendly and helpful.
