Lovely comfortable cottage which has been well maintained and well stocked with everything thats needed for a family holiday. Julie (11 August 2017)
Lovely cottage comfortable, clean & well equipped, fabulous enclosed garden dog loved it, . . surrounding countryside is really beautiful. Within easy reach of lots of places to visit & . . eat. Susan from Cambridge (21 July 2017)
Nice enough cottage, a little grubby in places, but not as dog friendly as advertised. Dogs are not allowed upstairs.dog mess cannot be placed in the cottage wheelie bin so has to be taken to the local park bin. . on the plus side the laminated maps of walks in the area was a great asset. Rosie from Cambridge (07 July 2017)
Really good cottage in a good location for exploring norfolk Armstrong (16 June 2017)
A fantastic last minute cottage. Kathryn (29 May 2017)
Loved beaconsfield cottage. Quaint and homely with a large enclosed garden which my 2 dogs loved. Short drive to beaches and towns. Dog friendly pub 2 minutes down the road and a lovely little butchers a bit further on. Would definitely go back and recommend to friends. Sue from London (30 September 2016)
The cottage was not very clean. The bed sheets were stained with mismatched pillow cases. Apart from dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid there was no other cleaning products and no mop for cleaning the kitchen floor. The kitchen sink and bowl were dirty as was the bathroom basin. Half a toilet roll had been left. Comparing this cottage with others we have stayed in it doesn't reach the standards we have come to expect. Diane from Ashford (23 September 2016)
Ideal location for walking with dogs on beaches and woods. lovely comfortable cottage. Second visit and will be back! Linda from Lincolnshire (01 July 2016)
Lovely cottage in a lovely place with a nice secure garden for the dog; unlike many "dog safe" areas this really was. Areas to improve: the water pressure in the shower meant I had to run around to get wet, the tv kept getting interference from somewhere and I think wifi should be standard now. Doug from Scottish Borders (03 June 2016)
Lovely cottage in a nice location with nice garden. Very comfortable. really appreciated wine and milk left for us on arrival. Not able to use the log burning fire due to birds nesting in the chimney was an unexpected disappointed as that was an attraction to us on booking. John from Milton Keynes (20 May 2016)
Cottage was perfect for us and our dogs. If we have one feedback it would be the main bedroom mattress needs replacing as it's so soft you sank in to it Michael from Burgess Hill (06 May 2016)
Very nice cottage. Clean, homely and excellent if you have dogs. Good location for exploring norfolk. Jo from Warwick (21 March 2016)
A standard holiday let, good as bare bones accommodation. big kitchen and garden. good for pet owners. great location. Very smoky fireplace (blockage?) Les from Coalville (19 February 2016)
Very pleasing on arrival to have a refreshment available, the garden very good for the dogs. Very pleased with all aspects. Roger from West Drayton (28 December 2015)
Lovely cottage, village had everything, even a fishmonger selling lobsters and a good butcher. Cozy wood-burner and very garden. Easy reach of beaches, country parks and some good gastro pubs, kings head near holt was very good. Rob from Bishops Stortford (19 November 2015)
Nice cottage, dogs loved the garden. So close to a nice pub doing good food : ) Hilary from Bozeat (06 November 2015)
Lack of info regarding building work next door which started at the earliest 07.54 was disappointing with noise of machinery starting up at this time. Wood burning stove needs attention to avoid, not only our but previous occupants concerns over large amounts of smoke being emitted into the lounge on lighting , irritant caused sore eyes and throats leading us to believe that a blockage in chimney or surround has occurred. . central heating was more than adequate to heat the property however the overall affect of a wood burning stove in an old cottage was lost as we could not use. Vivien from Crawley Down, West Susex (23 October 2015)
Lovely holiday - would visit norfolk again Confirmed Guest (18 September 2015)
This was our first visit to norfolk and beaconsfield cottage. The cottage was very nice and comfortable with a huge enclosed back garden which our two dogs absolutely loved. The location of the cottage was great for visiting norfolk's tourist attractions. We highly recommend the rutland butchers in melton constable were the local produce was delicious. My only disappointment was that I had to clean up the garden after the previous guests dog(s). Customer 19 from London (04 September 2015)
Lovely cottage in a nice village. Very dog friendly. Garden was fabulous! only negative is for the cost we would have appreciated wifi and satalite tv. Overall great stay and we would definitely return with the above additions. Jayne from West Malling (14 August 2015)
As my scores state beaconsfield fields is a well equipped, located cottage. Unfortunately local building works were in operation. Despite the best efforts of the builders the noise, dust did inflict upon on our stay. Bryan from Stansted (17 July 2015)
We enjoyed a fabulous family week away at beaconsfield cottage. It was spotlessly clean on arrival and the owners had left a bottle of wine and a pint of milk for us which was a lovely gesture. The kitchen was huge and well stocked and then lounge was plenty big enough for the five of us. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept very well, once the children had got over their excitement at being in their holiday house! . . we enjoyed trips to blakeney and a boat trip with beans boats (highly recommended) and a trip to holt and lunch in the kings head (highly recommended for children), we had fish and chips in wells and took the steam train from sherringham. We enjoyed a couple of meals in the explorer bar just down the road where we received a very warm welcome. We utilised the local shops and the butcher was fabulous, steak out of this world and delicious local strawberries. . . we had a problem where the washing machine stopped working but we made contact with a local lady who responded immediately. . I can whole heartedly recommend beaconsfield cottage. We will return! Helen from Carlton Colville, Suffolk (29 May 2015)
We really enjoyed our stay, it's a lovely cottage, really well equipped and comfortable, great garden, totally enclosed. . great walks from the cottage and loads more within driving distance. The village shops were well stocked and the local pub had a really good menu. We'd definaty look to book this cottage again. Lynn from Scotland (03 October 2014)
Very happy with the cottage but there was no downstairs toilet and it had very steep stairs Norman from Bridport (26 September 2014)
Lovely cottage in the perfect location to explore north norfolk. Well kept and very comfortable. Large secure garden for dogs. Hope to return next year. D J from Ashford, Kent (19 September 2014)
n excellent holiday cottage. well equipped and maintained. very dog friendly. Karen from Wvjq (29 August 2014)
The house's large, secure garden is a real plus for anybody with young children or dogs. it has a very pleasant kitchen/diner, which is well equipped. sadly, the old range does not appear to be in use, although this does not affect your ability to cook (modern cooker) or stay warm (very effective and responsive central heating system). it has comfortable lounge and bedrooms. shops are only a short walk away and for anybody wanting to explore the north norfolk coast the position is okay provided you are happy to have a bit of a drive to and from it. Gary from Dorset (15 August 2014)
The cottage is lovely just in the wrong location ,the garden was great for the dogs we felt it was over price for what you got didn't find it relaxing . Wilkinson from Nottingham (04 August 2014)
The cottage was a good size and well situated to explore many of norfolk's attractions. However there was a feeling of general neglect about the place. There were cobwebs on the bathroom window sill, and dead flies on the kitchen window sill. The drawers were full of very outdated literature and at least 4 outdated 'yellow pages'. patio area was generally uninviting with a rusty table. Most of all were the uncomfortable beds, the single in the font room and the king size in the back. This was mentioned several times over a long period in the reviews and nothing appears to have been done about it. We had a good holiday despite this but felt notice should be taken when people review the beds as comfort is important. I don't like giving negative reviews, but we paid a lot for this holiday. Confirmed Purchaser from Ipswich (11 July 2014)
Well equipped cottage in good repair, well decorated and clean. Huge garden and nice that it was dog friendly. Ideal central location to cover the norfolk coast. Nice village local amenities and friendly people. Ed from Bristol (27 June 2014)
Excellent, well equiped cottage with a great garden. Let down only by the beds which are not as comfortable as they could be. Confirmed Purchaser (16 May 2014)
Once again a lovely cottage and great location Steve from Benfleet (28 April 2014)
Cottage was very nice, especially the kitchen and living room. Everything was clean except the bathroom needed a spruce up - some dust along ledges. The cottage was very close to other houses although the garden wasn't overlooked. There was a lack of equipment in the kitchen - no roasting tins for example. The worst thing was the bed in the back bedroom - it was appalling - very lumpy!! I did not have a very good nice sleep!!! several people had commented on this in the visitors book!! Lynne from Essex (11 April 2014)
Lovely cottage, well equiped and fantastic for the dogs as the garden is fully secure. very comfortable. Tracey from Essex (14 March 2014)
A lovely cottage Nikki from Ashby De La Zouch (21 February 2014)
Good value for money, pleasant location. Only criticism was that the mattress on the bed in the rear bedroom was uncomfortable, as there was only the two of us staying at the cottage we were able to switch to the front bedroom. Mike from Shropshire (11 October 2013)
Perfect rurel retreat. Only small problems, neighbours were noisy early in the mornings as they have young children and were doing building work ouside by front window. Kate from Billericay (07 October 2013)
Great olace to stay home from home Stephen from Benfleet (06 May 2013)
Excellent location with plenty to do and very quiet and peaceful. Would definately recommend to friends and family. Norma from Billericay (26 October 2012)
Secure garden. Good layout. Efficient but noisy central heating. Nice neighbours and friendly village. Off road parking. Dog friendly H. (12 October 2012)
Clean and well equipped. Excellent garden for dog. Good shops in village especially the butchers and the fish shop in mill lane. good food and dog friendly pubs in area especially the honey bell. Judy from Epsom, Surrey (14 September 2012)
Decoration, garden and overall cleanliness / maintenance Karen from Wolverhampton (24 August 2012)
Good location. Great garden for dogs. Friendly neighbours. Well equiped kitchen. Clean. Comfortable. Ian from Liverpool (17 August 2012)
Good location. Great garden for dogs. Friendly neighbours. Well equipped kitchen. Clean. Comfortable. Customer 45 (August 2012)
Secure back garden for dogs. Located in a village with amenities. Lots of walks from the front door. Customer 46 (August 2012)
Lovely, quiet comfortable cottage with a fabulous garden which our dog thoroughly enjoyed. Wonderful, spacious very well equipped kitchen where we found a welcoming bottle of wine (as well as milk) when we arrived - what a nice touch! Customer 47 (November 2011)
Excellent place to stay if you have a dog. Customer 48 (October 2011)
The heating wasn’t working upon arrival - as we arrived late we didn’t call the owners - we called Sat morning and they were very quick to get someone to come by and reset the boiler. Nice/sweet cottage with great garden for dog. Customer 49 (May 2011)
To wake up in a morning, in such a beautiful way is outstanding. I was brought up in the country and am used to birds singing and other noises, but the symphony of all the birds and animals was incredible. We will never forget our time at Beaconsfield cottage, and we will be back soon. The neighbours were delightful on both sides, and just relaxing on the grass in the back garden and sifting the air was wonderful. The country and the sea nearby, is definitely the best of both worlds. Customer 50 (March 2011)
This is a cosy cottage with a lovely wood burner and comfortable sitting room. The kitchen is large and well stocked with crockery etc. Bedrooms are comfortable and all is clean and tidy throughout. The garden is a good size and great for the kids to run around in, and for the dog to mooch. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and box of biscuits - both very tasty. The house is well situated for the coast, Holt and Fakenham, and we felt very at home here. Customer 52 (December 2010)
The property was in a peaceful location with a private secure garden, suitable for our children and close to local amenities. Customer 53 (July 2010)
A good size property with a good garden for a dog. Good facilities within the property. Customer 54 (June 2010)
A very well maintained and equipped cottage with a fabulous garden for the dogs. Customer 55 (June 2010)
The garden was large and secure for small dogs which was the main reason we chose it. Many cottages say enclosed garden but are not suitable to contain small dogs. The downstairs flooring was very dog friendly, tiles and floorboards rather than carpets with no ’doggy smell’. The kitchen was well equipped also. Customer 56 (May 2010)
Generally well maintained, clean on arrival, very suitable for dogs, nice welcoming bottle of wine that was very much appreciated, will consider a return visit. Customer 57 (May 2010)
Beautiful cottage very nicely furnished and will equipped. Customer 58 (April 2010)
The property was contained with a large garden. All furniture and fittings were excellent. Customer 59 (October 2009)
Wonderful garden for anyone taking dogs. Completely ’escape proof’ and very large. Absolutely ideal. Customer 60 (June 2009)
The cottage is set in a lovely quite village and has a very roomy feel. It is equipped with everything you could possibly need. Customer 61 (May 2009)
Very good overall and ideal for any one with big dogs. An ideal location for getting around North Norfolk. Customer 62 (March 2009)
A lovely well maintained property, would happily stay there again. Customer 63 (November 2008)
Fantastic garden for kids and dogs. Lovely large kitchen and well-equipped. Very comfortable, homely property. Customer 64 (August 2008)
A lovely cottage which is a good base to explore North Norfolk from. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Customer 65 (April 2008)
This really is a fantastic, well equipped cottage. It is furnished to a really high standard with a beautiful enclosed spacious garden, ideal for both children and dogs. We all enjoyed our holiday and can’t wait to return in the summer! Customer 66 (December 2007)
