We received a lovely warm welcome with a lovely welcome tray - just what you need after a long journey. The cottage is spacious for two people and well equipped. the view from the window is a picture and when the sun is setting over the sea it's spectacular. Gail from Sheffield (22 July 2017)
A very warm welcome as we arrived, the location of the cottage was perfect, the view over to the coast was spectacular and it was a joy to see the cows every morning (the cows were not noisy at all) we would love to stay in the cottage again. We could not have asked for more.. Nicola from Manchester (01 April 2017)
A nice well equipped cottage with everything that you needed inside it, with lovely views across the fields from the main front window. Lisa from Gloucestershire (11 March 2017)
I stayed over christmas 2016 and the cottage had been beautifully decorated for the festive period. . there was an excellent selection of welcome gifts - wine, chocolates, eggs and mince pies, together with an initial supply of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and milk. . the cottage was extremely comfortable and well-equipped for self-catering. . the central heating is set to three times a day (with a thermostat for personal use) and there is a note to say that this can be varied to individual requirements upon request. . maurice & jen were extremely welcoming. . one minor electrical problem occurred during the visit (through no fault of maurice & jen) and this was corrected within 15 minutes of it being reported. . there is always plenty of farm life to observe, even in the bleakest of weather conditions. . I have already booked four further visits (including next christmas) Ian from Merton Park, London (28 December 2016)
We really enjoyed our stay in this cosy cottage. the welcome pack including eggs, cake and . wine was a treat. Anthony from Waterlooville (29 November 2016)
Internet access was somewhat intermittent but is not a reflection on ash tree cottage. . the nearest pub, the sportsman, could have been more welcoming!. . the old shire inn in camborne has a great carvery! Sue from Morden (21 November 2016)
A most enjoyable weeks stay in lovely, comfortable surroundings - just like being at home almost. would definitely stay there again. Brian from Willand Near Cullompton, Devon (17 September 2016)
The cottage was ideal for a couple. It was comfortably furnished. The location was perfect for visiting both the north and south coasts and there is plenty to see and do in the area. the only slight downside was the close proximity to a road which became busy at rush hour, but reasonably quiet the rest of the time. Penny from Fareham (09 September 2016)
A perfect base to explore the whole of cornwall, which we did. The barn was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. A welcome tray, cake and wine were much appreciated. All in all a lovely place to stay. Ellen from West Yorkshire (20 August 2016)
An excellent place to stay. Claire from South Yorkshire (29 July 2016)
Great location for visiting nearby attractions. cottage is light and airy and well equipped. owners are friendly and welcoming. the farm is located on a road which can be a little busy in rush hour, however given all the positives we wouldn't let this put us off staying there again. would recommend this cottage. Confirmed Guest (11 June 2016)
Very comfortable and welcoming. Ideal location for touring. Confirmed Guest (14 May 2016)
This is one of the warmest and most comfortable cottages we have stayed in. The owners are very welcoming and helpful. Overall we had a fantastic week, with easy access to most of cornwall, and knowing we would return to a cosy retreat each evening made the holiday even better. Brian from Waterlooville (25 March 2016)
We found the cottage draughty and cold. Heating was set for only 3 times a day and the weather was very cold and wet. The bed was not very comfortable and the duvet very thin and no blankets were available. Lovely welcome with eggs, cake and wine but overall we would not visit again. Hilary from Yateley (07 March 2016)
Was clean and tidy and there was everything you needed for your stay. Sarah from Sheffield (11 January 2016)
Fantastic place to unwind - great accommodation, lovely hosts. well sited for all that cornwall has to offer. Steve from Keighley (24 October 2015)
Everything about the cottage as you can see was great and the owners were very friendly.the only complaint I would have was the weather which nobody could do anything about. John from Maidstone (29 August 2015)
Good accommodation, one of the best we have stayed at. Plenty to do in the area. Unfortunately, pubs, restaurants and shops not within reasonable and safe walking distances so necessitates use of car. Michael (25 July 2015)
A lovely place to stay. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. We were surprised with a welcome tray on arrival, including wine, free range eggs and cake. The views of the sunsets and the countryside were stunning. A great get-away for a couple exploring cornwall. Susan from London (20 June 2015)
We have two main criticisms. . the first was that the bed was very hard and uncomfortable, and we slept badly and woke each morning with back pain. . the second was the shower was not very powerful. The owners were, however, very friendly and welcoming, the cottage was well situated and the views from the lounge window were superb! Jenny from Cirencester (29 May 2015)
One of the best cottages that we have stayed in. We had to come home early with a family problem but would highly recommend. Very nice people Cull from Poole (28 March 2015)
Everything was great. Wi-fi would be handy Kaur from Birmingham (01 March 2015)

A lovely little cottage with very welcoming hosts. Location superb and within easy reach of coasts and attractions. Would definately recommend it. Anne from Blackpool (02 August 2014)
Very well equipped and lovely view over farmland to the sea. Perfect for a short break as very convenient for lots of walks and national trust properties. Only slight negative is the very busy b road on which it is situated so some road noise and not great visibility for pulling out in the car. Lesley from Monmouth (11 July 2014)
The cottage was lovely it had everything you could wish for except the large spiders in the toilet! the owner was lovely and we had home made cake wine and fresh eggs waiting when we arrived, a lovely touch. Ann from Horsham (28 June 2014)
We found mrs hancock - to be a very charming lady, and we were immediately made to feel very welcome. The cottage was clean and spacious and we enjoyed a lovely stay there, and would certainly like to visit again. Brian from Leeds (24 May 2014)
Lovely, lovely cottage, ideal central location for visiting all areas of the coast in the west of cornwall, great for coastal walking fanatics like us. The owners gave us a very warm welcome and the calves were facinating to watch. As there is still so much to do in the area im sure we will be back Polly from Gloucester (05 April 2014)

Very nice hosts. Tea tray with tea, coffee and cake provided for a snack on arrival, flowers in the living room. Good sized rooms and very adequate facilities. Just a perfect renovated barn, retaning its beams. All on one level, great greeting. And if you want peace you got it. Incredible veiw even at night, St Ives twinkling in the distance. Customer 49 (November 2010)

Clean, warm, very homely. if all cottages for you are of this standard then can’t imagine ever using any other type of holiday accommodation! Customer 51 (August 2010)
Great little cottage - everything we needed for a week stay. Kitchen facilities were very good, bed was very comfortable and the cottage has the most amazing views towards the coast and St Ives Bay so we enjoyed many beautiful sunsets from the sofa! Customer 52 (August 2010)
A charming, cosy, comfortable cottage with wonderful views across farmland and open countryside to St Ives. Ideally located for touring western Cornwall. The owners, Malcolm and Jenny are very friendly and helpful and we were welcomed with a bottle of wine, delicious home made fruit cake and fresh flowers. Customer 53 (June 2010)
The cottage was clean and very well equipped. The furniture was of good quality and comfortable. There was everything in the cottage that we could possibly need. Customer 54 (May 2010)
It was so clean and mince pies wine and flowers on arrival. Customer 55 (December 2009)
Good location, friendly owners, super outlook, clean with those little extras so that you don’t end up buying loads of stuff to take home (foil, kitchen towels, soap, shower gel etc). Good welcome with extra treats, bottle of wine, fresh flowers, chocolate cake, superb. Customer 56 (October 2009)
This was our 2nd visit to the property and we chose it because of its warm and friendly welcome and its location. The peace and solitude is very much appreciated, and the friendliness of the owner makes the holiday cottage an ideal venue for us. The owner is always prepared to stop and talk if you want to, or simply leave you alone to get on with your holiday. Lovely people, lovely surroundings, lovely cottage, lovely holiday. Customer 57 (August 2009)
Absolutely spotless, looked like it was a new property. Very well kept. Customer 58 (June 2009)
An ideal location for touring South Cornwall. Customer 59 (June 2009)
The accommodation was welcoming and absolutely perfect for what we wanted. Customer 60 (March 2009)
We were met on arrival even though it was the middle of an absolute downpour, and shown around the property. Care had been taken to leave some fresh milk for a cup of tea, together with a bottle of wine and some homemade fruit cake - what a wonderful welcome it all was. The cottage was very tastefully fitted out, with a warm homely feel to it. We were left totally alone to get on with our holiday unless we needed anything, and everyone we spoke to was friendly and polite. All in all, we had a very enjoyable holiday, many thanks to the owner. Customer 61 (August 2008)
A great base for visiting South West Cornwall. Customer 62 (February 2008)
The quality of the accommodation far exceeds any description that could be contained in a web site or brochure. Customer 63 (October 2007)
We have been to this property several times - it is outstanding as is the welcome and attention to detail of the owners. Customer 64 (October 2007)
Morris and Jenny welcomed us on our arrival and showed us round the property. There was a tea tray, home made cake, flowers and even a bottle of wine!! They were always willing to stop for a chat and told us about some good places to visit. The pictures on web site didnt do the accommodation justice as it was far better than we thought it would be. All the extra little touches like welcome tray were lovely. Customer 65 (August 2007)
Fantastic quality, warmest of welcomes, couldn’t have been better! Customer 66 (November 2006)
