Lovely house with large garden in good location, but interior let it down. needed a proper clean, some furniture needed replacing not just covered with throws and the decor would have benefited from a de-clutter. Couldn't even have been described as traditional which would have been fine. Such a shame as with some attention could be really charming. Anne from Essex (20 May 2017)
Superb location, lovely cottage, exactly as described Sarah (22 April 2017)
Owners very gracious and helpful, back garden is lovely, walkable to shops and restaurants, and very near to st vaast with lots of good seafood. Well-equipped kitchen. Enjoyed the stay. Probably only downside is they should look at updating the bathrooms, but that is also part of its charm. . . quiet and rural. Beds very comfortable. Sue from London (03 September 2016)
Pleasant and quiet on the outskirts of the village, which has all the facilities we required for our weeks stay. An easy five minutes walk to the beach with pleasant coastal walks. Good accommodation with comfortable beds and sitting room with open fire for cosy evenings!. location was within easy reach of d day beaches and other historic places on the peninsular. Would stay there again. Nick from Nottingham (17 October 2015)
A large old house with loads of space, fantastic big lawned garden, situated in a quiet road on the edge of the village and close to the sea. Great for the dog, though at first I was a little concerned he might jump the fence to join the sheep and donkey in the field next to the cottage. Open fire was lovely as it was starting to get a little chilly in the evenings. Sharon from Bristol (19 September 2015)
Good location for exploring the cotentin peninsula (especially the top end), and caen, bayeux, the ww2 landing beaches and mont st michel are within easy reach for a day trip. quettehou itself has two decent boulangerie - patisseries and a supermarket. . . the cottage itself is on the large side with ample parking space and a pretty garden. the only downside is the € 40 cleaning charge even when there are only two people. This would be more tolerable if the cottage were professionally cleaned but when we were there the fireplace hadn't been cleaned and there were still breadcrumbs on the cutting boards! Rod from Sussex (16 May 2015)
The property was in a great location and had a super enclosed garden for children and dogs. The owners were extremely helpful and friendly. The nearby beach should be noted as a working beach, however there were many many brilliant childfriendly beaches within a 10 minute drive. Quettehou was a great little town to be nearby and we could walk or drive to it. St Vaast was also walkable. We would come back again to the area and the cottage. Customer 7 (August 2012)
Excellent setting but the "beach" at the end of the road is totally unsuitable for the usual beach holiday. There are however sandy beaches ashort drive away. We particularly liked the one underneath the lighthouse: Phare de Gatteville. Customer 8 (August 2011)
Clean, spacious, well equipped for our needs. Customer 9 (July 2010)
